It was mentioned on Global news tonight, sounds like it's a done deal.

Your amendment was timely as they took the game 6 - 2 - an empty-netter by Jeff Carter sealed the deal for the Kings. First time Quick has won in Chicago. Nice comeback from the first two periods by LA. Tough night for Crawford. Series tied one apiece and back to LA.

first two periods were 'all' chicago, it was 2-0 till almost the end of the second period for chicago.

l.a. wasn't looking at all impressive, and the game looked like it would be a chicago victory,UNTIL

the third period started, then the flood gates opened. game ended 6-2 l.a., so they have their

split in chicago and off to l.a. now for games 3 and 4, and l.a. has made it much more interesting.

very strange game indeed.

Mea Culpa. I should have known better than to question the decisions of a coach who has a team in the EC final. Young Tokarski has his team tied with the Rangers entering the 3rd P. I think he has done very well in the net tonight - so far.

He's a keeper- that boy, too bad they didn't win in regulation! Had to turn the T.V. over to the little woman, so I'll just have to follow it on the computer.

oh good, i'm glad there will be overtime, montreal didn't deserve to win it that easy, so rangers got
one of their own off of a leg, so they are even.

this has been rangers game all the way through, but with a tied score going so long, it becomes anybody's
game, so now we'll see more battle in overtime.

this is fun.

I don't think he could have had either of those two pucks, JLM. Man he battled hard - and won the affection and support of a team that was still missing Carey. Now they know he will be there for them as they will for him. Rock on Justin. Rock on Habs. Great game by both teams.

And no, they didn't play all that well as talloola mentioned. But they hung in there. They didn't give up.........and they proved they have a right to be in the EC, if any was indeed needed.

Earlier in the game one of the linesmen grabbed one of the Rangers who tried to ward him off and got bumped from the game. The linesman abused his authority and should be suspended.

Habs score winner in OT

ARGH!!!!

In the Gardens yet!! Wahoosie! Sorry gopher but this was a huge psychological lift for the team and especially for the young goalie - out-battling the King - can't get much better than that, eh?

well, i do jump around in these playoffs, depending how games are going, so in this one, i was hoping
the rangers would take it, as they played much better all game, but as i said earlier, when those kind
of games come close to the end, then all of that strong play means nothing, as one goal will do it
for either team, wrong team for me tonight, maybe not next game.

i like montreal, but i like vigneault too, and its all in the east, so not really my turf.

Was that the linesman that Carillo punched in the face?

Carillo wasn't trying to get into the fight but the linesman grabbed him and he was only trying to ward him off. If the linesman had kept his hands to himself it would not have happened.

I liked the way one of the Rangers took a long range puck shot at the refs for missing a call earlier. Maybe next time he'll crown the ref for his incompetence.

I like Alain too, talloola and often feel torn about cheering for the opposition when I listen to him in press conferences or interviews. I hear nothing but good things about him on TSN and CBC. He deserves much credit for getting the Rangers this far, his first year with the team.

I wish I could feel sorry for Torts as he watches the success that Alain Vigneault is having as opposed to the total mess that he made of his chances. But I don't. You reap what you sow.

exactly, me too, but in tort's case, i don't have any feeling for him but frustration at what became of the
team under his watch, and aso for 'he' seeing what is happening right now, i'm sure, a fly on the wall will
tell us, that he just 'thumbed his nose' at the tv.

"New York Rangers forward Dan Carcillo was given a game misconduct for making contact with an official in the first period of Game 3 against the Montreal Canadiens.

While teammate Derek Dorsett was fighting Canadiens forward Brandon Prust, Carcillo hit the arm of linesman Scott Driscoll while he was attempting to intervene.

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reported that game officials will review the incident post-game and determine its category. If any Category 40 rule is applied, Carcillo will be suspended.

A potential suspension to Carcillo would be the sixth of his career. His most recent ban was seven games for boarding Edmonton Oilers defenceman Tom Gilbert in January, 2012."

Carcillo given game misconduct after contact with official

In the same vein - different player. The Prust hit should have been a penalty and as Alain just mentioned in the post-game interview - that non-call led to Carillo's actions.

just watched press conference with trevor linden introducing jim benning as canucks next gen. manager.

i felt good listening to jim benning describe what he wants this team to represent.

to begin with, he said they 'must' be a true 'four line' team, as that is what is needed in todays

team, and the four teams left playing right now do just that. he wants the 3rd and 4th lines to be

very represented on the team and be a big part of the play, as the first and second lines are the top

skilled players on the team and the 3rd and 4th lines must support that system by being gritty and

able to play the game in the 'other' teams end most of the time.

his deepest asset is his scouting skills, his father was a scout, he learned the skills from him, then went

on to become a head scout in the buffalo organization, then moved on to the bruins, and became assist.

gen. manager.

the canucks have definitely turned completely around on this day, and will work hard to turn the team

back round to face the right direction, and begin moving them forward again, he also said he can see

this team can be a fast fix, as he likes the core of the team, and will build around them, and support

them with players that will complement them.

over the next couple of weeks they will work on interviewing next coach, and also preparing for the

draft.
