I hope you're right, Nashville can be difficult to score against.

yes they can, very difficult, and they also have a difficult time scoring.

after last nights awful game by the canucks, i'm just banking on them bouncing back
with a big game, (good thing luongo was sharp).

anyway, it was just a guess to be different from the others, score could be 2-0 canucks, if
we're are lucky.

games are getting so tight now, teams are becoming more desperate and defensive, and games
are less enjoyable, as we watch them battle to get into a playoff spot.

last night there were 3 one goal games, all going to the shoot out, and a 1-0 game, boston over ottawa.
and that game apparantly was awful to watch, and so was canucks game.

just the way it will be till playoffs are decided, and even after that, those teams who 'have to' will
continue to play that way, (canucks played that way years ago), the only way they can win, as they
have no scoring power, just clog up the neutral zone, and wait for mistakes to take advantage of.

will be interesting to watch calgary play chicago tonight, on TSN, should be quite a battle, as they
both are close in the standings, and all teams have games in hand over calgary, so they have to win,
and so do chicago.

Calgary is just getting a little too big for their britches- what they need in the worst way is a 10/0 loss against Ottawa.

Laps....5 minutes ice time and a minus 1.

Awesome.

well he's on the 4th line, so he got the same ice time as that whole line did.
I saw the penalty, it was nothing.

a player like him won't make a difference to the big picture, just an energy player,
and disturber, on the fourth line, he can do that.

vineault coached him as a junior, he knows him, and wanted him, said he will play the
way he tells him to play.
Have to at least give him a few games to settle in and get comfortable.

And, you know players learn from moving around, they find out what they need to do,
or not do, they want to play, so if they don't figure it out, they will be out of the
game all together, so we'll see where he fits in in that regard.

the calgary/chicago game was a good game, kept flowing in different directions, calgary played well,
and so did chicago, and they took turns being the dominant team, but calgary just couldn't keep up
with the number of goals they needed to tie or win.

lol, can you imagine, 10-0 by ottawa, would like to be a fly on the wall in the dressing room after
that one, or the coaches room, guess I should stay out of the dressing room. lol

I allready was accused of being infactuated by hockey players, remember?, lol lol lol

Well today was a good day for the Canucks, Calgary and Detroit both lost. I don't trust Calgary - their poor start to the season is long in the past and every win now just gives them more ideas.

yes detroit lost, but gained one point, as it was overtime,so with same number of games played, they are now 4 points behind canucks.

calgary is playing very good hockey right now, they are doing what they need to do to stay inside
of 8th spot, but they need others, who have games in hand to lose over the next few games, so we'll
see how that goes.

Calgary have played 66 games, 3 more than l.a. and dallas and two more than nashville, anaheim, chicago,
phoenix, so that puts them at quite a disadvantage 'for now'.

They could be out of the playoffs quite easily, soon.

The Canucks looked anything but special tonight. They were outworked by the Predators
and out scored three to nothing.

yes, canucks seem to definitely be in some kind of a funk right now.

lucky that philly lost, and detroit lost to san jose, so none of the leaders have
done anything to improve their positions, maybe they will all wait for another
team to come up and pass all of them.

I think I will starting cheering for edmonton, they are winning right now, and are
very exciting to watch with those young fast guys, i'll get back to canucks when
they get all of their defencemen back, and start playing again.

canucks had such a chance to pull away from philly and detroit, but can't seem to
remember how to play right now, it will all come back some day. lol

Yep, the Canucks were handed two gifts tonight they failed to capitalize on. Maybe this is good news in that we couldn't really expect them to go on a 30 game winning streak, but better if they start a 20 game winning streak 10 games from now. LOL

Nothing like optimism, but it has to be mixed with a little realism, Talloola- the realism being that pretty well all teams have times in the Doldrums (which makes for character needed to excell in the long run) and the optimism being they are going to peak just in time to take the Presidents Trophy and go on to be a force to be reckoned with in the run for the Cup.

Mornin' JLM. I'm not a big hockey fan, actually I'm not a hokey fan at all, but I find you last statement a little over-optimistic.

The Predators scored all three of their goals in the third-----One of them while
Luongo was on the bench. The game probably could have gone either way.
All the Canucks needed was a couple bounces but for some reason they couldn't
buy a goal.....Malhotra almost scored.....the Sedins almost scored. Raffi Torres
was hitting everything that moved. Oh well.....Next time...

To begin with nashville, and all teams like them are hard to play, as they just play for a
chance, but don't have much in the way of dangerous offence at all, so it's check, check all
the time, but if canucks were on top of their game as they were before, it would have been much
more successful.

That first goal was actually kesler's poor coverage on his player, and when was the last time
we could ever criticize 'him', can't remember.
They actually blamed tanev for that goal, no so.

And yes, canucks had quite a few close in scoring chances that 'just' didn't work, pretty unlucky
as I saw them, so that would have made the difference, the 'lucky or unlucky' buck bounces.
That one that slid all the way across the goal line, with about 4 sticks swishing all over the
place managed to keep going without getting knocked in, very unlucky.

We have seen such marvelous play from them for most of the season, now we have to see them through
a bit of a slump, they are a little off balance, passes not connecting and their speed has suffered
because of it, and without bieksa and edler to send them away with the great 'first' pass they don't quite
have the depth they need.

They will be back, and maybe this road trip will be helpful, makes them focus better and they don't
have anything else on their minds except playing hockey.

Well, I just watched one of the most intense hockey games 'ever'. Calgary/columbus.

calgary won 4-3, but the efforts put forth by both teams was above and and beyond the call of
duty, both teams were playing for their hockey lives.

The win boosts calgary into 5th place, with 77pts, but they have now played 67 games, columbus remains in
12th place.

chicago defeated carolina, so they are now in 4th place with 78 pts.
Chicago have 7 straight wins. They played well tonight, not nearly as intense
a game as the calgary game, but the chicago goal scorers did their jobs, the best
players were the best players tonight.

by the time canucks come back from this road trip I sure hope they have some of their old habits back,
because calgary is pumped right now, and it will take top form to defeat them, not the way canucks have played their last couple of games, so they have four games to snap out of the funk, then play calgary.

The game tonight was definitely 'play off' level for sure.
I actually see that playoffs have started for a number of teams.

I just watch periods 2 and most of 3 and thought the Canucks played well, although taking far too many penalties and had a little luck in that L.A. couldn't take advantage of them. They are just a little stronger and grittier team than L.A. If the Canucks don't have a playoff spot clinched now, the next win should do it.

The Canucks managed a 3 - 1 win today over L.A.. The Canucks
scorers were Hanson, D. Sedin, and Burroughs into an empty net.
The refereeing was terrible. Calls were made that shouldn't have been
and call were missed that should have been made
