Gender's not a binary either/or thing, it's a continuum with the binary extremes at each end, that's the only point I was trying to make.
Ok, but that's two genders then - male and female, with a spectrum in between. So it's still two genders.
And there are androgynous people with no apparent sexuality at all, neuter.
Well i believe i did mention neuter ;) But that's not really a gender it's the absence of gender.

So sure, we can say a person might display more male gender or female gender traits but we wouldn't say there's more than one gender would we? All genders would just be made up of male and female gender elements.

Then it would be helpful if they were also interested in me that way, but if not, well... story of my life lately. :(
Well all i can tell you is that the grass is always greener on the other side of the alimony payment.

Reminds me a little of that joke - "My relationships are all a little touch-and-go these days. I touch 'em and they go...."

Or, as a woman who was definitely not petros's wife said, "I must really be into anal sex, because all I ever have is sex with an asshole."

Hey, I coulda made it YOUR wife. Except I don't know if you're married, and the joke's kinda pointless if you ain't.

Oh, and by the way. . . "I got yer ten foot pole right here, yo!"

So... the kid voiced his opinion during a discussion, in a Catholic school, and because of it he was given an exclusion order.

Then he broke the order and came back to school.

The school gave the order and he disobeyed it. He broke the rules. I think calling the cops was a little much but he's not stupid, he knew what he was doing and what it'd lead to. So his arrest - right or wrong - is on him.

As for the original reason he was suspended?

He shouldn't have been, full stop.

I feel sorry for the 2 trans students in the school who will face backlash likely out of this, but the kid being kicked out was wrong.

Oh imagine that - Serryah thinks the victim is the criminal here. It's all HIS fault you see.

Anyone put their hand up if they're surprised. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

I think they do have religious services in the school as well, and there's a mandatory course called Christian Ethics, which based on my childrens' experience with it is rather silly. It has no academic standing really, it has no value to any post-secondary institution as an entrance requirement and is not part of the curriculum mandated by the Dept. of Education, but you can't graduate without it. My son, possibly the worst student in the history of civilization, never saw a kid who hated high school like he did, actually failed it the first time, which takes a major effort to avoid making any effort at all. Quite an accomplishment. As an unrepentant old atheist, I was almost proud of him. Did him no long term harm either, he's quite successful now.

I disagree. I'd argue that all the people represented by that ever-growing acronym 2SLGBTQwhatever, are different genders, but I suppose it could depend on how one defines gender. According to Wikipedia, "Gender includes the social, psychological, cultural and behavioral aspects of being a man, woman, or other gender identity." Thus heterosexuals, homosexuals, bisexuals, transsexuals, etc., are all different genders.
You must know that this is all made up right? There are only 2 genders. The rest is made up shit that means absolutely nothing other than catering to people who want to be something or someone else. They need counselling as it's likely more of a mental illness that is the issue.

Don't think that's how a spectrum works. Would you argue that there are two colours in a rainbow, red and violet, with a spectrum in between?
It's actually the textbook definition of spectrum, being : a continuous sequence or range. Colour gets to use the term a bit more specificaly :) But - even there consider RGB which makes up pretty much all the colours a human can see. Three primary colors - the rainbow is nothing more than sliders along that spectrum. It's still made up of red blue and green.

So while it may APPEAR at first glance like there's many different colours that we can see, there aren't. AND - it even breaks down further. All those "colours" are really just different frequencies on the electromagnetic spectrum that we consider to be visible light. Turn the frequency up - you see a different color.

But - getting back to RGB - three 'colours' that represent tens of thousands of colours. But - we can describe those three clearly And we can describe the colours we see in terms of their RGB content.

So we have male and female "Traits", "elements", and social expressions. Neuter we can discount as being a lack of gender for this discussion i think. So if we take your paint analogy, we could call those the "primary Genders", just as RGB are primary colours. But we don't have any OTHER 'primary" gender. So any individuals 'gender profile' so to speak is just a collection of the traits from the two primary genders. It would be like claiming a human is a different species because they had different hair colour or the like.

So again - unless you can come up with something that can't just be described in terms of a combination of male and female but rather some other 'primary' gender - then there's just two genders and we exist as individuals as a collection of traits from each of those two piles.

He would. Ya just know he would. Just like there's St. John's and Prince Rupert, and anyplace you are in Canada doesn't have whatever woke name the gol-dang libruls are using. It's "Mostly St. John's" or "Pretty Much St. John's" or "Kinda Prince Rupert" or "Pretty Damn Prince Rupert." Unless you're talking about the "Damn Near Half and Half Blue Bombers."

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that, I don't think that's an adequate description of the range of human sexuality and sexual expression. The very existence of the acronym 2SLGBTQetc. suggests a more nuanced understanding is required. I'd agree there are two primary genders, most people do identify as male or female, but there's a significant minority that does not and in the interest of preserving their civil and human rights we have to respect that.

Why can't we just go back to the days when doing or wanting to do anything besides missionary position sex with a person of the opposite sex to whom one was legally married was a criminal offense?

THAT's a good use of taxpayer dollars! Or even loonies.
