I will wait and see, there is a long distance between talking about it and doing
something. Jury is out. There are some hopeful signs however and time will
tell Besides there is a difference between racism and malevolence.
Then again there were a lot of leaders through the history of this country that
were very racist. Starting with the founding fathers

Pretty much.

Anyone who can't recognize this is probably a bigot.

Why should Franco-Albertans enjoy a right indigenous Albertans don't?

They shouldn't. Government screwed up. It's what governments do. As I've said, I don't want to spend a lot of time focused on the past. I tend to look forward. Treat all Canadians equally. It's really that simple....until the special interests get to the trough.

Don't worry, I'm sure you are too.

I'm what?

The founding fathers were lightweights, it's the founding mothers who were full of piss and vinegar.

They were excellent at beating their kids into believing anything.

I think First Nations people should be treated exactly the same as all other Canadians.............................once they are on an equal footing with other Canadians, but they should be brought up to that level first. There's no denying the white man abused the Indians for at least 100 years in Canada, possibly more. There's just no denying they were harmed in the residential schools.

How are they not on equal footing with other Canadians?

Level of education, living standards for starters. Incidence of health problems. F**k you can be stupid.

That is their own choice. I know white people with no education, poor living standards and poor health. Is somebody preventing them from getting an education? Looking after their health? Improving their living standards? I don't think it's societies fault if they value their "way of life" over living standards.

In most cases, NOT! For the first 20 years of your life you are likely stuck with what you were born with. Never mind, you are just too stupid to bother explaining it to you. For further proof you might want to look at longevity records.

Everybody has the beginning of life dictated by their parents. I can understand why it's so difficult for you to explain why aboriginals are so different. Maybe the aboriginals like CB that feel they are disadvantaged should be blaming their parents instead of society....but then again, playing the blame game is your schtick. I'm more interested in how to move forward. Perhaps you could show me a successful example of a society that treats its citizens differently

I wasn't blaming the Indians for anything! Maybe you should educate yourself and take a tour around Attiwapiskat. I'm the wrong guy to be beating down Indians to- my wife is part Indian, so I know what I'm talking about!

My girlfriend is part Indian. So what? Aboriginals have every right and opportunity I have and then some. It's time to put an end to the silliness. Tell them they can be a nation, separate from Canada and do their own thing or be a part of Canada and become equal individual partners in the nation of Canada.

I fully agree, once they are on even footing! It's not rocket science!

They are on even footing. In fact they have advantages the rest of Canadians don't have. Making excuses isn't helping the situation.

Looks like you two are going steady.....

I'm disappointed in you JLM, I really thought you knew better.....

Anyways.....on another note all you kiddies...

If getting pwned makes you salty, perhaps you should just avoid threads that are over your head. I know it's difficult for you to not troll but it's pretty easy to put in a little effort.
