Toastguy...Canada is a nation of immigrants. The vast majority of people who come here from other lands are not only happy here, but love this country. Some, like Canadian Observer, are unhappy here. They would, no doubt, be unhappy pretty much anywhere else as well.

They are the people who blame the institutions of Canada for their problems, but the truth is that they had expectations that would be handed the world without having to work hard or play by the same rules as everybody else.

Canadian Observer isn't going to be happy in the United States either. He wouldn't be happy in the UK or France or even in Monte Carlo.

If you come to Canada you will receive one of the best educations available in a country with one of the highest standards of living on the planet. It isn't a free ride though. You will have to meet the standards of whatever industry you get your education in. You will have to find a job that you are qualified to work in. You will have to pay taxes. Just as you would anyplace else on earth.

Don't listen to Canadian Observer. He showed up at this site a while back with an obvious hatred of Canada and Canadians. His very first post here, which had absolutely nothing to do with the thread he placed it in was:

Unfortunately for RB and his ilk , I see things personally here. They are on the outside looking in when it comes to immigrants and the US. They really show their ignorance and hate.

I was very happy back home but I wanted just a little more .
Canada was inviting skilled immigrants - good jobs , health care , peace and tolerance and other lies. repeat , the canadian government up to this day are inviting skilled immigrants . For whatever reason ? I can only think of one - to man the factories and drive the cabs.

Toastguy, As you may have seen or read from the canadaimmigrants.com/forum.asp -perhaps one in thousand immigrants are happy with their life. If life is that good according to the CIC and people like RB then we would'nt be having this kind of discussion right now.

You deserve a better source of information.

Never met anyone that visited Canada and didn't love the place (apart from the cold winters). Every place has good and bad points, Canada mostly good...

somebody's missing the point here. The country is so beautiful . In winter things slow down . But its still a beautiful country gifted by nature.

My beef is with the mess that immigrants like me has the endure all these hardships and blatant discrimination when it comes to jobs. No jobs or a little job here and there , the less money , the less happy. All the savings gone. Oh my God were stuck here.

I don't know what the others think of you,but I am sick of all your bitching and whining. Nobody is going to hand you everything you want just because you decided to come here-you have to go out and earn whatever it is that you want. Stop posting and do something!

Your experience doesn't match the experience of most of the immigrants I've spoken to, CO. That includes people from every continent on earth. Why can't you find work? Is there a problem with your qualifications? Then do something about it. If you are being refused work because of your race, then launch an official complaint. It is illegal for employers to do that, although it does happen.

You haven't said what you were trained in, what kind of work you are looking for, if you are willing to move outside of whatever area you immigrated to, where you are from, where you are now, or a damned thing. All you have done is show up here and bitch.

You keep saying the US is better. Then go. Statistics show that there is a greater chance at upward mobility, both within a generation and intergenerationally, in Canada though. We also have better social programs for those that don't make it.
