Wasn't Edmonton the birthplace of the late Gene Kiniski, former pro wrestler and Edmonton Eskimo ? "Kiniski Days" ? Yeah right, it doesn't exactly sing does it ?

Keezonso, Kompy! A word fits with K-Daze!'
'

Beats me, Dodo. I kan't think of anything. It should be something famous...

Absolutely!

It should be something katchy. Something that no one will forget.

That goes without saying. Definitely something that grabs your attention.

Something moving...

Yes, and something thought provoking. Something revolutionary...

...

...

Piss on it! What do you see? Hundreds of miles of flat, brown grass. Change K daze to P-Daze and go for the safe answer - Prairie Daze!

Thank you, Murphy, your contributions are the epitome of "Keyano", the Cree word for "sharing". However, like you, I've struck out!
Perhaps a former teacher of mine, a Miss Katie Kay, has a suggestion?

Update...
I called her but she was watching K-PAX on her PVR and said she had no time for Kindergarten foolishness.

What was wrong with Klondike Days; as it was for nearly 2 decades? So now they don't even like the letter "k"? So call it "E" days, or Edmonton Exhibition, or have a competition city wide to pick a name. Let people vote.
.

It was Capital Ex for years. The people DID speak, they wanted K-Days back (it was local shorthand for Klondike days). They wanted the Klondike costumes and themes back. Why on earth Northlands decided to mess around so much with one of the most successful fairs in Alberta is beyond me. It will always be K-days. There's no fighting it.

Even though I admire Karrie deeply, she is dead wrong. Renaming it Klondike days will lead to war with Dawson. Thank Gawd, Dawson City is 2525 kilometres from Edmonton or the sound of dog sleds would be imminent.

Buffalo Days is now the Queen City Ex
Booooooo!

Geezus, I thought it was Pile of Bones Days.

Since Edmonton with little remorse brazenly stole the Klondike theme for over thirty years, perhaps the Edmonton Exhibition could adopt the Buffalo-Days theme. There are buffalo (bison bison) near Edmonton.

Pile O Bones was the Sunday before Buffalo Days. Now it's Queen City Ex had half the size and no Pile O Bones. Pemmican Pete and that Pearl chick had to retire.
