Racism?
The African American community of Victoria tried to discourage my wife from marrying me because in their opinion society wasn't ready for such marriages. The Muslim community harassed her because I wasn't Muslim, and the Ethiopian community even ha one gy threaten her with violence, though of course he was too chicken to reveal himself and so remained anonymous.
An uncle in law was told a job wasn't available, yet the same day his white friend checked, and sure enough it was still available. This same uncle in law made a point of not wearing a baseball cap when driving his nice car or else the cops would pull him over. A brother in law got stopped by the same cop many times until he finally asked the cops name, id, etc. and only then did the cop finally get the hint and left him alone.
Another brother in law in Kitchener got harassed by the cops as soon as his new dreads were remotely apparent, and he gave up on that idea quickly enough.
And another bro in law was told an apartment was not available, but when I checked, sure it was.
Same with anti-french and anti-English bigotry in Victoria an Ottawa.
Canada truly is one big dysfunctional family. And then we wonder why we get the governments we get.
