Albeit "the acorn doesn't fall far from tree", I know "there's exceptions to every rule",but to be on the safe side remember the rule dominates.

Not true. Most people I know of our generation are completely opposite to their fathers. My grandfather was a conservative, my dad was a liberal and I'm an anarchist. Justin might just be his own man but conservatives have memory lock and wouldn't admit the possibility if they were face to face with it. It is the conservative way to be stuck in the past. It is what conservative means.
My father thought the government was the answer to all the problems. He voted (like most of his generation) for the Liberals that kept the gravy train running. I'm more of a fiscal conservative. My father was socially conservative. Social conservatives are the reason I can't support the Conservatives.
People that bring up Pierre when trying to dis Justin, obviously are grasping at straws.
Nope... He has earned much derision.

However, I think JLM has a point about the acorn not falling far from the oak, except that IMO, the oak is Junior's mother, not his father. I also think the little dweeb is using his father's name as a crutch.
Sure he has...but because of what he has done and not because of who his father was or what he did.

You want to remember Cliffy that over the years from your grandfather down to you, the platforms of the various parties have likely changed too. Also maybe both you and your father saw the failings of the generation before and are just adapting. I doubt if politics is inherited, but traits like stubborness, determination, critical thinking, impetuousness and perseverence might be.
Geez, Les, that doesn't sound too promising, for all his faults and shortcomings I think the old man was the stronger of the two parents!
He is running on his father's (former) reputation.. If baby Trudeau wants to leverage that benefit, it comes with costs - in addition to the many foot-in-mouth events that he has brought on himself
Probably both in personality and appearance, don't think he could match the old man's arrogance!
Being an Aries myself, I don't see arrogance as a bad thing. I wish westerners would get over themselves. If I was faced with an angry mob who are slinging vile slurs and giving me the finger, I would return the favour without feeling the slightest bit of remorse. The west treated Trudeau with contempt and he returned the favour. The west needs to grow up. It was more than 30 years ago.
Harper is slipping in the polls so the conservatives bring out their usual contempt for anyone left of Harpo and his thugs. Bunch of babies throwing crap around in the sand box.
On the one hand I hear you Cliffy and on the other hand I think a smart politican would return graciousness for contempt and kill two birds with one stone, first winning over some disgruntled electorate and second showing tolerance and being above the level of the general rabble. The P.M. has some expectations the rabble has none.
I'm an Aries and I can handle arrogance. But, when some common thief kicks me in the balls and THEN gives me the finger he definitely has my contempt. Peeair was treated with contempt for a reason.
As for Harper, well, he may be slipping in the polls because he's loosing his footing in all the bullshyte people throw out there.
For all Pierre's many faults, I'm a little surprised to hear theft and kicking people in the balls were two of them.-

If he was doing that, he would repeatedly refer to his father at every opportunity. The guy has done lots of things to be critical of. I don't need to mention Pierre in order to show that Justin is not a competent, capable leader. That's just being overly emotional.
