A single mother working a minimum wage cannot afford to pay for day care, unless the day care is subsidized. So she stays at home to look after the children and collects welfare. Day care should be free. then one adult is watching many children and the other adults are working.

OSAP: When my kids graduated high school, about half their friends who had the marks to get into post secondary never went because they couldn't afford it. I made too much money for my kids to be eligible for OSAP. IMO, OSAP was useless. It didn't help me and it didn't help the people it was supposed to help. University should be free.

Time for you to hold him down Bear!!
You take care of his security detail, and text me when you're done.

You spelled BS wrong.

I know at least 12 single mothers that are making well above minimum wage. Why do you think a single mother is only capable of earning minimum wage?

OSAP: When my kids graduated high school, about half their friends who had the marks to get into post secondary never went because they couldn't afford it. I made too much money for my kids to be eligible for OSAP. IMO, OSAP was useless. It didn't help me and it didn't help the people it was supposed to help.
If my youngest didn't get offered a grant from the Anish nation, I already have an education savings plan in place. Now they can use the funds to buy a house I guess.

We come back to responsible parenting again.

University should be free.
I actually agree, but the Harper Conservatives didn't make it the pay to play system it is now. Why don't you ask some of the professors you quote in Israeli discussions, why they want to make so much.

I agree if you can find someone that will do it for free.

Do you even know why those prisons need to be built?

I dunno, perhaps when the population goes freakin' crazy over the high price of everything from a stick of butter to a pair of depends he will have someplace to put them so they're out of sight out of mind?

Unless you have another reason why we need those prisons. Are we expecting a revolt? An invasion by the Taliban perhaps? If there is a need for all these prisons it's time for Harper to come clean and explain it to the people. On second thought I'd better not hold my breath on that one. Transparency was never one of his strong points, even though he campaigned on that very issue two (or three) elections ago. Come to think of it he campaigned on a lot of issues that were conveniently dropped as soon as he came to power. The lies seem to slip off his tongue like shyte through a goose. And have you taken a good look at Jim Flaherty lately? Now that's tight lipped for ya. Jim's our Conservative poster boy.

Here's the setting a year from now in small town Canada. "Oh geez Martha go oil up da gun my dear. And fer gawd sake put da youngsters down in da bunker. 'Cause if that's not bin Laden coming up the path it must be his twin brother. I'm calling the police!"

.....Paranoia will destroy ya.....

On the gas issue, I fixed his prediction for him. Harper Predicts Pain At The Gas Pump If He or Layton Is In Power.

Lots of the socially progressive nations in Europe provide free daycare, some even provide it to families with 2 woking parents and a good income. It is considered economically beneficial to allow both parents to contribute to the economy and tax burden at the small cost of daycare services.

And somehow, we managed to build a country without free daycare.

What European countries? Are you aware of the recession hitting the EU, unemployment and social assistance draining the gov't coffers.
The scandanavian countries, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, have remained relatively stable compared to the southern and central European countries lke us compared to the US.

Are you suggesting there will be anarchy in the streets of Canada? Can't see that happening Bear. The ordinary citizen wouldn't stand for it. I nearly reported a suspicious looking van the other day. It was swerving all over the road. I pulled up alongside to give the guy heck and I was stared down by the ugliest looking mofo Arab/Muslim/Islamist/whatever male that looked like he was ready to drive his vehicle into a school yard and blow the thing sky high. He looked crazed. Was I being paranoid or should I have turned him in? Another giveaway was the windows in the van. All covered with cardboard. My spidey senses were tingling. My wife was sure he was up to no good. This is what paranoia does to you. There's a boogieman around every corner.

The country is not built yet. It's a work in progress.

Fair enough.

Well then enlighten us as to the need for all these prisons?
Over crowding in the current system, as well as antiquated facilities. This isn't new news, it's been in the news for years.

The reason for double and triple time served, was due to the state of correctional facilities.

But by all means, if you feel the need to be a nutter, have at it, it's funny.

Or are you not at liberty to say?
Like I said, get help for that paranoia.

Oh gimme a break! I'm not the one housing an armoury of weapons like yourself and Colpy preparing for Armageddon. Honestly, if someone "slightly" disagrees with your philosophy you go off half cocked. Now that's paranoia with a dash of insecurity thrown in for good measure if you ask me.

I threw those questions out there because they sounded so silly but fell in line with the general thinking among the right wing fundies. Would that include you?

There are 4 hunters in my household. We own one compound bow a piece, I own a crossbow and a rifle.

How is that an armory of weapons?

Half cocked like 'armory of weapons'?

Do you succumb to need for projection regularly?
Now that's paranoia with a dash of insecurity thrown in for good measure if you ask me.
I agree, you should at least talk to your family Doctor.

Would that include you?
No.

And don't think I didn't notice you resorted to outright attacking me, instead of acknowledging the need for new prisons.

Murderers, rapists, child molesters, drug importers, extortionists, kidnappers, bank robbers............need I continue?
Great. Another hoodwinked voter. Are you trying to dish me a load of crap? Did the number of murderers, child molesters, drug importers, yada, yada, yada suddenly go up in the last little while Megahertz? Here I thought crime was on the way down. I must be reading the wrong news then.
Go and sell your snake oil somewhere else.

Need I remind you of the 'nutter' comment? You have a habit of agitating people on here and when they retaliate you get so offended it's really very amusing. How many people have you alienated now?
