Not unless another big player joins the party.
Russia and Iran backed Hamas to get the US. Israel UAE and Saudis involved. It gets the US in through a non-NATO pact manner. Saudis are already proxy fighting Iran in Yemen. Then there is Indian Navy, they control the Strait of Hormuz and relies on Gulf oil. Inda has been heavily armed for ages but are rapidly expanding their forces.

Where are the Christians that lived in Israel and Palestine?
Interesting question. Trying to find that answer, in an impartial manner (almost impossible), but I’m a couple (5) minutes into this & it’s sounds promising (?) so far:

The Israeli public, hitherto sharply divided over the judicial overhaul Netanyahu and his right-wing government were pushing, is also fully behind the present campaign. The 1982 war was much different. It was seen as Israel's first war of choice rather than a purely essential defensive war (the 1956 Suez campaign was, in reality, Israel's first war of choice). The horrific massacre of Palestinians in Beirut's Sabra and Shatila refugee camps by Israel's Lebanese Christian allies was also condemned, and there were large anti-war protests in Israel, until then a rarity.

York U blasts student unions after they endorse terrorism
Three student unions at York University issued a statement justifying the brutal terror attacks in Israel as "resistance" against "settler-colonialism."

Author of the article:Brian Lilley
Published Oct 13, 2023 • 3 minute read

The administration of York University is condemning a statement issued by several student unions on Thursday. The statement, titled Statement of Solidarity with Palestine, is nothing but an attempt to excuse terrorism and the brutal execution of civilians.

Issued by the York Federation of Students, the York University Graduates’ Students Association and the Glendon College Students Union, the statement refers to “so-called Israel” and “so-called Canada.” If I were a student belonging to these organizations, which is mandatory, I’d be demanding my student fees be returned and looking to oust the leadership as soon as possible.

“We the undersigned Unions present at York University reaffirm our solidarity with the Palestinian people, within Palestine and the global diaspora, and their ongoing fight against settler-colonialism, apartheid, and genocide. We vehemently condemn all forms of colonial violence and support Indigenous sovereignty,” the statement reads at the open.

The statement describes the terror attacks of last weekend as “a strong act of resistance” and go on to say that “these events serve as a reminder that resistance against colonial violence is justified and necessary.”

“This is ‘decolonization’ and ‘land-back’ actualized as we continue to see the Palestinian people stand firm in their resistance against their oppressors,” the statement reads.

This is nothing short of an endorsement of the murders and executions the world witnessed last weekend. Do these people not realize that 260, mostly young people like them, were slaughtered at a music festival for peace by the very monsters they are now praising?

Nope, to them it’s all about oppressors and power struggles, to hell with actual living, breathing human beings who had their lives cut short by the animals carrying out these attacks.

“We stand firmly in solidarity with those resisting such oppression, actively contributing to the legitimate fight for justice against settler-colonial nations,” the statement said.

By the way, “so-called Canada” is one of those “settler-colonial nations” that they are railing against. They believe in a “land-back” movement that includes violence; thankfully, that’s not where Canada’s Indigenous population stands. But if some radicals began slaughtering any non-Indigenous Canadians in their homes in the name of “land-back” these “settler-colonial” students at York University would clearly support it.

Thankfully, the school administration sees things differently and is once again denouncing the student unions on their campuses.

“York University unequivocally condemns the inflammatory statement shared by three student unions (Thursday) night,” the university said in a statement to the Toronto Sun.

“Freedom of expression has limits and comes with responsibilities. It must never reach into promoting or justifying violence against unarmed civilians. To suggest otherwise is abhorrent and does not reflect the views of York University, nor the perspective of many thousands of York University students.”

Beyond denouncing the statement though, the university asked the student groups to make clear they reject violence, including against student, especially Jewish students at the school.

“We call upon the executives of the York Federation of Students, York University Graduate Student Association, and the Glendon College Student Union to immediately clarify that they firmly reject any acts of violence or discrimination against Jewish students or other members of the community, and to reaffirm their commitment to non-violence and the safety of all of their members,” the administration said.

No one should hold out hope that the student unions will say this and mean it. To them, anyone who is not Palestinian in Israel is a settler and as their fellow travellers have made clear, being a settler means you aren’t a civilian.

That’s the twisted world that those who use this language, who back these causes now live in. Just by your very existence, you deserve to be a target of a brutal terror attack.

Once again, the rampant anti-Semitism that abounds on the campuses of York University has embarrassed the school. Sadly, they aren’t alone.

Gaza slaughter and Holocaust denial a crime in Canada

Author of the article:Joe Warmington
Published Oct 13, 2023 • Last updated 2 days ago • 3 minute read

First there was Holocaust denial – now there’s a campaign to deny the genocide by Hamas in the ‘second Holocaust.’

While the world may have said ‘never again,’ the sad truth is it is happening again. Slaughter on a massive scale in a savage terror attack that killed more than 1,200 in Israel is unmistakable and unthinkable in its evil.

However, a second evil has arisen in the orchestrated effort to diminish the reality and scope of the bloodthirsty, savage attack on civilians at the border with Gaza and a relentless rocket attack in towns and cities.

And some individuals and groups promoting Saturday’s “All out for Gaza” protest against Israel in Mississauga are spreading this denialism as a theme to bring people out.

But is that legal?

The protest is scheduled on the one-week anniversary of what the Israeli government reports was the most Jewish people murdered in a single day since The Holocaust.

It comes one day removed from the International Day of Outrage that the founder of Hamas called for, which some interpreted as a call to Jihad.

It’s two days after a man and two teenage boys were arrested for allegedly threatening students outside of a Toronto Jewish school. And it comes on the heels of a man defacing a Muslim Mosque on The Danforth – twice.

It’s a tense time.

There have already been several organized rallies and also spontaneous celebrations of the barbarism that some want to scrub. You have heard how some media don’t want reporters to use the word terrorist to describe Hamas killers.

And now there are groups online denying these attacks resulted in extensive civilian carnage and bringing into question the veracity of the genocide of more than six-million Jews during the Second World War.

“Honest people must ask themselves ‘why is the je*ish occupation lying about many of the barbaric actions that took place Saturday?” said one meme making its way around social media in Canada. “They are using these made-up acts of cruelty and barbarism to tell the world a mini-Holocaust just happened to them again.”

A meme circulating online questions Israel's account of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and The Holocaust.
A meme circulating online questions Israel’s account of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and The Holocaust.
Revolting – but it needs to be reported because it’s happening.

Many of the bodies have not been identified but the campaign to pretend this didn’t happen is already in full swing. The meme also stated: “Is it possible that if they are lying about these events and creating a false genocide, it is likely they may have lied about certain details of a previous big genocide that may have occurred?”

Is it free speech or is it criminal?
Well, under “willful promotion of antisemitism” in Section 319 (.2.1) of the Criminal Code of Canada it states, “everyone who, by communicating statements, other than in private conversation, willfully promotes antisemitism by condoning, denying, or downplaying the Holocaust … is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.”

It’s important for those attending protests, or who share social media postings, to understand what the law says.

They also should know police are monitoring everything. Just as Toronto Police have been, Peel Regional Police are on top of the next gathering and ready to keep the peace.

“Peel Regional Police will have increased and visible presence to monitor and respond to any unlawful activities,” PRP said in a statement. “Any acts of violence, threats of violence or vandalism will be investigated.”

They will have extra patrols, including investigators who understand hate crime legislation, at Celebration Square outside Mississauga City Hall on Saturday. And promoting Holocaust denial is not the only provision in the Criminal Code they have the authority to apply.

Section 319 (1) states “everyone who, by communicating statements in any public place, incites hatred against any identifiable group where such incitement is likely to lead to a breach of the peace is guilty of (a) an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.”

Going to a public square to protest a government or a policy, or to mourn or pray, is a charter right. However, spreading hate or denying genocide is a crime in Canada.

The Jews are not alright
If you have ever wondered how people stood by and let the Nazis murder six million Jews, then now is the time to stand up for Israel and the Jewish people

Author of the article:Sheryl Saperia
Published Oct 14, 2023 • Last updated 1 day ago • 3 minute read

To the people of Canada: Jewish Canadians, your fellow citizens, are not alright – they are grieving and scared.

Much has been written in recent years about trigger warnings and microaggressions on university campuses. I find them to perpetuate a culture of fragility and victimhood.

Let’s talk about real triggers.

Reports of 40 Jewish babies being decapitated by a genocidal terrorist organization called Hamas. Hundreds of innocent civilians kidnapped, burned alive and beheaded – Oct. 7 was the deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust.

The Jews are triggered.

Please understand our cultural DNA.

We are a small people. There are approximately 15 million Jews in the world, accounting for 0.19% of the world population. Yet, hundreds of millions of people have subscribed to anti-Semitic beliefs, in the past and today. Anti-Semitism can be found among the political left and right, religious and secular, poor and rich, educated and non-educated. These factors would usually influence a person’s beliefs and prejudices, but anti-Semitism unites them all.

Our history is one of almost constant persecution and discrimination, with intermittent attempts at full-scale genocide.

We are not a proselytizing faith and have never asked for anything other than to live peacefully and enjoy the same opportunities as everyone else. Jews have historically joined social justice movements and advocated for peace and equality for other minority groups. We were forged as a people in slavery in Egypt and are religiously commanded to do our part in making the world a better place.

There is only one Jewish state in the world. Israel is a tiny country in land mass and population. The vast majority of Jews in Canada feel an intensely close emotional connection to Israel. It is a source of pride to see the country thrive in innovation and creation, and it is a source of comfort to know there is one place where our acceptance as Jews is guaranteed.

Approximately 40,000 Holocaust survivors resettled in Canada after the Second World War. Most of their descendants still live in Canada. And we are not okay today. We are not okay to see tiny Israel vulnerable to its multitudes of enemies. We are not okay to see our siblings, parents, grandparents, children and friends murdered or taken hostage by barbarians.

And we are not okay when Hamas leaders post a call to action on social media to mobilize around the world in support of the terrorist organization. One tweet making its way across the Jewish community in Toronto is calling on Hamas supporters to target Jewish institutions with violence and generate a modern-day “Kristallnacht.”

I personally know of educated, well-to-do people who are buying emergency supplies and planning escape routes from their homes. Psychologists in the community are getting calls from those terrified they will be sent to concentration camps. Parents are debating whether to send their children to Jewish schools. Is the threat that great in Canada? No. But the Jews are not okay.

If you are a caring person, if you have a social conscience, if you have ever wondered how people stood by and let the Nazis murder six million Jews, then now is the time to stand up for Israel and the Jewish people. Do not equivocate and chalk down the violence to a longstanding complicated conflict between two sides that are equally right or wrong.

Israel left Gaza in 2005 in the hopes of peace. Hamas, whose explicit mission is to eliminate Jews and the Jewish state, immediately took power. If Canada had as its next-door neighbour a terrorist government committed to its destruction, I assure you the Canadian government would take the strongest possible security measures to protect its population.

Non-Jewish Canadians: your Jewish friends, colleagues, and neighbours are not okay. Reach out to us. Do not be silent.

Make no mistake. The Jews are a most resilient people. We will survive and ultimately succeed, as we always have. But today the Jews are not alright.

— Sheryl Saperia is the granddaughter of two Holocaust survivors and the CEO of Secure Canada, an organization dedicated to combating terrorism, extremism, and other threats to Canada’s national security and democracy

Canadian-Israeli woman, missing since Hamas ambush at musical festival, dead: family
Author of the article:Canadian Press
Canadian Press
Published Oct 14, 2023 • Last updated 1 day ago • 2 minute read

Family of a Canadian Israeli woman, who was missing since Hamas militants ambushed a music festival in southern Israel last Saturday, are dealing with the heartbreaking news she has died.

Shir Georgy’s aunt, Michal Bouganim, said the 22-year-old was killed by Hamas in the attack on the festival near Kibbutz Re’im.

“We are currently a mess, heartbroken,” Bouganim said on Instagram. Earlier in the day, Bouganim shared a post, saying the family “received the terrible news.”

VIEW THIS POST ON INSTAGRAM
A POST SHARED BY MICHAL BOUGANIM (@MICHALBOUGANIM)

Georgy is the fourth Canadian to die in the Israel and Hamas conflict.

Georgy, a dual citizen of Israel and Canada, was attending the Supernova music festival in the Negev desert — a region bordering the Gaza Strip — on Oct. 7 when Hamas gunmen attacked the partygoers.

In a 22-second video shared by Bouganim online, Georgy is seen terrified, sitting among other festival attendees — some of them injured — as they hid in a small room.

Valeri Mesasof, a cousin of Georgy’s mother, said she has been in touch with Georgy’s family and it has been hard for them.

“I spoke with (Georgy’s) mom and her father,” said Menasof, who lives in Miami, as she cried on the phone.

“They’re not doing very well and it’s something beyond understanding,” Menasof said. Georgy has two younger brothers and family in Israel.

Hamas militants launched the deadly attack last weekend that killed hundreds of people in Israel, including at the outdoor festival. Israel has retaliated with airstrikes in the Gaza Strip, which has been controlled by Hamas since 2007, and by cutting access to water and power in the territory.

Hamas has said the attack was retribution for worsening conditions Palestinians face under Israeli occupation.

Israel’s military has told more than one million people living in northern Gaza to evacuate the area, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowing Friday to destroy Hamas.

Menasof said Georgy had recently finished her time serving the Israeli army as an officer and was looking forward to starting a new phase in her life.

“She was enjoying life like everybody else does after the army,” she said. “She went to the party because she wanted to celebrate with her friends.”

Menasof said Georgy spent a few days with her family in the United States earlier this year and they were planning to meet next summer in Israel.

“She was a girl who loved life. She loved people (and) loved to help people,” Menasof said.

“Everybody loved her. She was a flower and her smile projected happiness.”

Georgy’s funeral was to be held in Israel later Saturday.

Supporters of Hamas' barbaric actions must be shunned
If you can call what Hamas did justified, how can you be part of civilized society?

Author of the article:Brian Lilley
Published Oct 14, 2023 • Last updated 1 day ago • 3 minute read

The rot in our institutions runs deep in Canada – be it our colleges or universities, our elementary or secondary schools, our unions or our governments.

Show me which one has not been infected with rampant anti-Semitism and radical politics that is detached from the lives of average Canadians.

This has been fully on display over the last week since Hamas began their horrific terrorist attacks in Israel.

We’ve watched in dismay as elected officials marched in support of Hamas, union leaders expressed support for terrorist acts, and law professors at our supposedly best schools defended the Hamas attacks on social media.

On Friday, we saw people come out and rally on a so-called “day of rage” because the leader of Hamas called on them to do so.

In Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal, and even tiny Kamloops there were rallies that happened on the day Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal had called for attacks and activism. Let’s be clear, if you were marching “in support of Palestine” on Friday, you were actually marching in support of Hamas and endorsing the terrorism they inflicted upon Israel starting last weekend.

This rot within our country, our institutions, is not new. It has been on a slow boil for a long time and few have been willing to do the heavy lifting to deal with it.

More than 20 years ago, as a young reporter in Montreal, I witnessed the student union at Concordia University, a school with a large Jewish population, march into a meeting with a military drum being played, the Palestinian flag being carried and chants of Intifada. Today, the views that seemed radical at Concordia in 2001 are mainstream on campuses across the country.

That’s why the union representing sessional lecturers, teaching assistants and others at McMaster supporting the Hamas terror attacks shouldn’t be shocking if you have been paying attention. Same with statements from the various student unions at York University or the University of Toronto at Mississauga.

These academics aren’t interested in antiquated ideas like right and wrong, they’re only interested in deciding who is the oppressor and who is the oppressed based on their own bizarre world view. We see this in the online posting of people like CUPE boss Fred Hahn but also the musings of elected officials like NDP MPP Sarah Jama.

It’s why people think it’s appropriate to march in rallies where the Hamas flag is flown, where chants of “from the river to the sea” ring out, and where organizers play recordings of the Israeli early warning air raid siren to warn of incoming missiles while the crowd chants Zionists hide.

All of these things happened in Toronto over the past week, not in some dark corner but in the open, on our major streets and with hundreds if not thousands cheering on.

You don’t need to be on Israel’s side to see how wrong this is, how sick and twisted the thinking of some people is to cheer on the slaughter of innocent civilians.

People marching in Nazi rallies, singing songs in praise of the Third Reich and carrying their flag would be rightly shunned in Canadian society and it should be the same if you are showing support for Hamas.

Yet, we have people in positions of authority, law school professors at the University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall at York openly supporting what Hamas has done all in the name of resistance and decolonization.

No more.

You can support the Palestinian cause, you can want the people of Gaza to be free and have a better life, but once you state that you support the barbaric acts of Hamas, you are no longer a member of civilized society, nor should you be treated as such.

The West will only back Israel for so long

Author of the article:Lorrie Goldstein
Published Oct 14, 2023 • Last updated 1 day ago • 3 minute read

While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and the leaders of the world’s western democracies have been stalwart in supporting Israel’s right to defend itself in the wake of Hamas’ horrific terrorist attack on innocent civilians, past experience suggests it won’t last indefinitely.

Inevitably, rapidly rising deaths and injuries to civilians in Gaza caused by Israel’s military response will increase international pressure, primarily aimed at Israel, as opposed to Hamas, to declare a ceasefire and stand down.

This has always been the case in previous confrontations between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and there’s no reason to think it won’t happen again.

Particularly so, if Israel launches a widely expected ground war in Gaza, where deaths and injuries to civilians will increase exponentially, no matter how many are able to flee from the north to southern Gaza — which is hardly equipped to handle the influx of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees.

A ground war where the Israeli military will be simultaneously fighting Hamas, which is dug in among the civilian population, while attempting to free as many as 150 hostages kidnapped by Hamas in its initial murderous assault on Israel.

The key question facing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s military and intelligence services — reeling from one of Israel’s worst security failures in the 75 years since Israel was declared an independent state on May 15, 1948 — is how long they have to dismantle Hamas before global, and particularly western, opinion turns on them.

Especially so given that Israel’s military strategy to destroy Hamas — including constant bombings from the air in addition to a looming ground war — is not a political strategy to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Indeed, it will make that conflict worse.

However successful Israel is in attempting to eliminate Hamas, the idea it will be permanently disbanded is unrealistic.

Inevitably, new generations of Hamas fighters will rise in Gaza, where 2.3 million Palestinians live on a narrow strip of land a mere 25 miles long and six miles wide in one of the most densely-populated territories on earth, with an unemployment rate of 44%, a food insecurity rate of 63% and where 41% of the population is under the age of 15.

The only long-term political strategy to end the conflict is the decades-long call by the international community for a two-state solution — an independent and viable Palestine including the West Bank and Gaza, with shared access to Jerusalem — living in peace alongside a secure Israel.

But that dream has been stalled for decades, in part because of the intransigence of Palestinian leaders and in part because Israeli governments of all political stripes have built 279 Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem that are illegal according to international law and occupied by 700,000 settlers.

Even if the peace process were to miraculously survive the latest Israel/Hamas war it would not mean the end of hostilities in the Mideast.

Iran, a global sponsor of state-funded terrorism, has no interest in peace with Israel and along with funding Hamas — aka “The Islamic Resistance Movement” — in Gaza, also supports Hezbollah in Lebanon, the so-called “Party of God,” which, like Hamas, is designated as a terrorist organization by Canada, but is far more powerful and better equipped than Hamas.

Should Hezbollah enter the Israeli/Palestinian conflict at this point, there are legitimate fears it would lead to a region-wide conflict in the Mideast, another humanitarian disaster.

Israeli OnlyFans star Natalia Fadeev has traded her thong for fatigues and enlisted in the Israeli Defence Force (IDF), vowing to “erase” Hamas from the planet.

Fadeev — who often posts snapshots of herself in varying degrees of military garb — has revealed she was triggered to sign up for the IDF in the wake of Hamas’s massacre of hundreds of innocent men, women and children last weekend.

This week, she shifted her posts on Instagram from cheesecake to horrific images of the slaughter and ensuing war between the Jewish state and Hamas. So far, hundreds of innocent Israelis and Palestinians alike have been killed in the fighting.

“[Hamas] has nothing to contribute to humanity. We have to erase them, destroy them” Fadeev said, adding that the horrific images “keep me awake at night. Horrible things are happening, we hear stories similar to those of Holocaust survivors.”

Now, she has uploaded a selfie on Instagram in her full IDF uniform posing with her combat team.

Alongside the image, she wrote: “This is not a war, this is a crime against humanity.”

Unfortunately for her fans, she said she won’t be posting much in the foreseeable future.

“I won’t be very active on social media. I joined my unit for reserve duty, I don’t know for how long. Pray for us,” she wrote.

In the past, Israel has used photos of attractive members of the IDF to attract recruits. In 2019, there was a brouhaha over a group called the Alpha Gun Angels.

According to Jewish Currents, the Angels billed themselves “as Israel’s premier gun-modelling and social media marketing agency.”

The women are a team of nine active and veteran IDF combat soldiers who have turned their good looks into Instagram celebrity. They market their looks and combat experience as a “sexy lifestyle brand,” Jewish Currents reported.

Pouting patriot Natalia Fadeev is one of the Angels, along with Orin Julie and Nina Nature, among others.

“I know how to hold guns, how to shoot, how to do combat stuff — and Americans appreciate that,” Julie told The Times of Israel.
