Your position on this hasn't changed since I came to this forum well past a decade ago, maybe two.
That's what two or three peace summits ago when the Palestinians walked away.
Did Israel walk awak away from occupation and state sanctioned zealot terrorism? No? Why not?

What part of illegal occupation is confusing? The occupation or the illegal?

….Giap recommended to Arafat that he “stop talking about annihilating Israel and instead turn your [Arafat’s] terror war into a struggle for human rights.” It had worked in Vietnam, he claimed, because transforming the conflict from one of ideologies (Socialism vs. Capitalism) to one of an “indigenous” people’s struggle for liberty had turned the tide of popular support in the West against the war.

Was it “Legally” occupied/annexed by Jordan between 1948 & the first half of 1967 (?) or that’s not relevant?

Similar advice was provided to Arafat by Muhammed Yazid, minister of information in two Algerian wartime governments. He wrote “wipe out the argument that Israel is a small state whose existence is threatened by the Arab States, or the reduction of the Palestinian problem to a question of refugees; instead present the Palestinian struggle as one for liberation like the others.

Wipe out the impression that in the struggle between the Palestinians and Zionists, the Zionist is the underdog. Now it is the Arab who is oppressed and victimized in his existence because he is not only facing the Zionists but also world imperialism.”

Yasser Arafat heeded this advice, and with the help of bi-weekly plane-loads of Soviet supplies brought in through Damascus as well as the Soviet propaganda machine, he began to portray the Palestinian Arabs as a supposedly indigenous population whose human rights were being tarnished by Israel.

The fact is that after the War of 1967, Israel inherited Arab refugees living in the West Bank and Gaza that were forced to live there in the period of Egyptian and Jordanian control from 1948 to 1967.

Israel immediately offered to return the lands it won in 1967 (West Bank, Gaza, Sinai, and the Golan Heights) in return for a peace treaty. This offer was rejected by the Arab countries in the Khartoum Conference (Aug. 29- Sep. 1, 1967). In Arafat’s authorized biography, Arafat: Terrorist or Peace Maker, Arafat claims this moment as one of his greatest diplomatic victories….but Shhhhhh….!!

Maybe not Canadian. Historically, the Palestinian “desire for statehood” and “need for liberation” was invented in large part by the Soviet Union.

It is no coincidence that the blueprint for the PLO Charter was drafted in Moscow in 1964 and was approved by 422 Palestinian representative hand selected by the KGB. At that time, the USSR was in the business of creating people’s liberation fronts. The KGB founded the PLO as well as the National Liberation Army of Bolivia (1964) with Ernesto “Che” Guevara at its head and the National Liberation Army of Colombia (1965).

These “liberation fronts” were seen by the USSR as centers of Marxist indoctrination and opposition to democratic and capitalist movements. In the Middle East, the only foothold of the democratic west is Israel; nurturing the PLO to undermine Israel was therefore quite natural for the Soviets, who not only helped fund and establish the PLO but also trained and supplied its terrorist operations.

It is telling that Zahir Muhse’in, member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, said the following in a 1977 interview with the Amsterdam-based newspaper Trouw.

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians, and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism.”

Palestinian nationalism is therefore a historical fabrication born out of a communist thirst for expansion and an Arab resentment of the existence of Israel. The “need” and “desire” for Palestinian is a veiled expression of the “need” and “desire” to end Israel’s existence.
So when do what few hostages that are still alive get released?
When their value is less than the hassle of keeping the last few alive.

The IDF tank commander who burned and beheaded 8 babies and 6 other hostages...

Fighting in Gaza, IDF Tank Officer Who Shelled Kibbutz House on Oct. 7 Says 'I Had No Choice'
On October 7, Col. Nissim Hazan took control of a damaged tank and drove it to Kibbutz Be'eri where, for two whole days, he battled Hamas terrorists. It was there that he fired a shell at the home of Pessi Cohen. He tells Haaretz that he did not know there were hostages inside. 'We needed to shake things up that day,' he says

Amazon deletes video of VP wearing necklace of Palestinian flag over Israel

Tech behemoth Amazon was quick to remove a promotional video after a senior executive was recorded wearing a controversial necklace that showed a Palestinian flag across a map of Israel.

Ruba Borno, a vice-president at Amazon Web Services, was filmed for the company’s upcoming AWS re:Invent conference in Las Vegas and the video was shared to social media last week, reports Jewish Insider.

The promo was posted days after the one-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel that killed 1,200 people.

After news of the video began to circulate, some threatened to cancel their Amazon membership, while others shared screengrabs showing they terminated their account.

A company spokesperson declined to respond to a request for a comment from the outlet about the exec’s anti-Israel jewelry. The video was deleted on Monday.

However, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed in a statement to Fox Business that the video was removed and will be replaced.

“The violence and loss of life happening every day in the Middle East is tragic, and at Amazon, our hearts and thoughts are with any person or community that’s affected,” the statement said.

“Our leadership remains in regular contact with our teams based in the region to offer our support. The video shot was not meant to be a political statement, but we’ve taken down the video and will repost a new one in the coming days.”

Borno’s LinkedIn profile, which has since been deleted, said that she was hired by AWS in November 2021, according to Fox Business. She also works as a young global leader for the World Economic Forum. Clicking on her X account also shows that it was deleted.

Borno, who is of Palestinian heritage, left Kuwait with her parents during the 1990 Gulf War. Her family eventually settled in the U.S.

Good for her. Freedom of expression. I'm getting a year of Prime just because.

Likud to hold event in support of resettling Gaza

Some 21 towns and approximately 8,000 Israeli settlers were removed from the Gaza Strip during the 2005 disengagement.

One minister and nine MKs in Israel's governing party, the Likud, will hold an event on Monday near the border with Gaza in support of resettling the territory, according to a flyer of the event published online.

The event includes a tour of Kibbutz Nirim led by its civilian security coordinator. The Kibbutz said in a statement that neither it nor the security coordinator had received notice of the tour, and therefore, "it will not happen."

The kibbutz added, "We are still waiting for the government and members of the coalition to take responsibility for the enormous failure and abandonment of the events of October 7 and for the bleeding wound in our hearts. Instead of holding political conferences to form settlement cells, it would be better for the government and its members to deal with bringing back 101 hostages and supporting and building the [Gaza] perimeter area towns and resurrecting them."

The Likud event is part of a larger event called "Preparing for Settlement of Gaza," scheduled for Sunday-Monday, October 20-21, including a "giant Sukkah city" encampment. The event includes "field tours, settlement preparation workshops," and "meeting pioneers of the past."

The larger event is sponsored by a series of groups, including the coalition's two far-right parties, the Religious Zionist Party (RZP) and Otzma Yehudit, as well as other right-wing and settlement groups.

Israel confirmed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the architect of the Oct. 7 attack on Israel last year, has been killed in Gaza, with Foreign Minister Israel Katz calling it a "victory for the entire free world".

There has been no official comment from Hamas but sources in the group said the indications suggested that Sinwar had been killed during an Israeli operation in the area of Tal El Sultan, in southern Gaza.

Sanctions and potential sanctions on JKK terror groups in West Bank and Israeli Govt ministers

UK sanctions target Israeli settler outposts in West Bank

LONDON, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Britain on Tuesday sanctioned Israeli settler organisations that it said had sponsored violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank, and called on Israel to "stop settler expansion on Palestinian land".

The sanctions target seven settler outposts or organisations involved in facilitating, inciting, promoting or providing support for activity that amounts to a serious abuse of the human rights of Palestinians, Britain said, opens new tab.

"The inaction of the Israeli government has allowed an environment of impunity to flourish where settler violence has been allowed to increase unchecked," British foreign minister David Lammy said, noting settlers had also targeted schools and families with young children.

"The Israeli government must crack down on settler violence and stop settler expansion on Palestinian land," he added.
UK ‘looking at’ sanctions for ‘extremist’ Israeli ministers

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned ‘abhorrent comments’ from ministers as he called on Israel to limit civilian casualties.

LONDON — The U.K. is considering imposing sanctions on two extremist Israeli ministers, Keir Starmer confirmed Wednesday.

The prime minister said the government would examine the possibility of sanctioning two far-right Israeli government ministers — Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir — over past “abhorrent” remarks by the pair.

Smotrich said in August that the starvation of two million people in Gaza might be “justified and moral” in order to free Israeli hostages. Ben-Gvir praised settlers suspected of killing a Palestinian as “heroes,” and backed protests against aid convoys reaching Gaza.

The latest sanctions, which impose asset freezes on the organisations, represent the third set of measures against persons involved in settler violence in the West Bank, Britain said.

The PM repeated his refrain for aid to be allowed into Gaza in far greater volume and for the U.N. given the freedom to operate within the territory.

The prime minister’s official spokesperson said later that sanctions were regularly kept under review. “We’ll look into where it is appropriate to go further,” the spokesperson said, adding “We will continue to hold to account those responsible for this violence.”

During the ruling Labour party’s annual conference in September, Foreign Secretary David Lammy suggested sanctions against the ministers could be a possibility. He told a fringe meeting: “If we have to act, we will act,” adding he was in discussion with G7 ministers about the matter.

Former Foreign Secretary and Prime Minister David Cameron disclosed Tuesday the last, Conservative government had been working on sanctions against the two “extreme” ministers before July’s general election put the plans on hold.

“I couldn’t do them during the election period because I think it was too much of a political act was the advice I received,” he told the BBC.

The threat was dismissed by Ben Gvir, who wrote: “The British need to know the days of their mandate are over. “In any case, they do not scare me, and I will continue to only act according to the important national interests of the State of Israel.”

The U.K. imposed new sanctions Tuesday targeting three outposts including Tirzah Valley Farm Outpost and four organizations.

Lammy said the “extremist Israeli settlers” had perpetrated “heinous abuses of human rights” against Palestinians and the Israeli government allowed “impunity to flourish.”
