A recent poll commissioned by The Canadian Press reveals the public believes there’s a “northern populism” movement growing in Canada.
The elites predictably will react with fear and alarm to this story and inevitably try to convince regular Canadians into thinking that’s a bad thing.
It's what they do every time their agenda is threatened.
(I am not sure why anybody would be surprised at this trend? It seems simple and direct to me. Since 55 percent of Cdns consistently refuse to vote in any election, it stands to reason that a large number of Cdns are completely disgusted with politics and our leaders. Throw in relentless price gouging by govt, along with soaring taxes and shrinking returns on savings and investments and growing un-ease with LIE-beral immigration policy generally and anti Muslim fear specifically and you have an ideal recipe for motivating a WHOLE LOT of people to get out and vote next time around! Given the controversy around Trump, you can easily imagine a WHOLE LOT of Yankees deciding to cast a ballot next time around! Love Trump or hate him- he DOES have Yankees motivated to think politics!)
Populism is a dirty word to those who lost their minds when Donald Trump got elected, or who saw the sky falling after the Brexit vote in Britain.
The reality is Canadians are losing confidence in their institutions because increasingly those institutions fail to serve or reflect their priorities.
(Govt priorities are increasingly centered on a small and vocal minority with dreams of power and gravy at OUR expense! Govt lives in terror of the day our silent majority wakes up and sweeps them away! As looks like may happen next June to our wretched premier Wynne-bag! With the sunny ways of Our idiot Boy Justin getting increasingly cloudy as his hostility to Cdn Imperialism- by which he means white Anglo Saxon type people and their values- manifests itself in various, rude, costly and dangerous ways!)
Our public school boards, universities, unions and government, and its many agencies, increasingly are driven by ideological agendas, often ones that reflect the narrow interests of disgruntled activists.
They are out of touch with regular people, who care about making the world a better place but rightly worry more about jobs and putting their kids through school.
The CP survey reveals three-quarters of Canadians believe some version of populism is on the rise here, either to a moderate or high degree.
And it shows “22 percent of people who weren’t born here thought populism was a good thing, compared to 18.5 per cent of those whose parents were both born here.”
(Others have written about the frustration felt by Hindus and other ethnic groups who are unhappy with the way radical Muslims- the beloved and chosen people of LIE-beral party- are taking over our school system and forcing it to accommodate to Muslim ways while ignoring all others!)
So new immigrants like populism slightly more than other Canadians! Who would’ve thought?
(Is it possible some people came here specifically to ESCAPE living under a govt that makes choices according to LIMITED and selfish needs without regard to the needs of the country at large- as LIE-berals do? It was LIE-beral Dalton McGinty who told us some years back that the time had come for govt to start picking economic winners and losers in Ontari-owe- and maybe a lot of people are now unhappy because so far the ONLY winners have been LIE-beral friends?)
But if you view populism as paying attention to the thoughts and needs of regular people over the elite sentiments coming from self-interested institutions – which is how we define it – then this shouldn’t be a shocker.
People come to Canada from all over the world to seek a better place for their families. They don’t want to be oppressively taxed. They don’t want to be turned into guinea pigs for the latest progressive agenda. They don’t want the nanny state telling them how to raise their kids.
The elites aren’t just out of step with common sense Canadians. They’re out of touch with new immigrants as well.
(One has only to look at the ethnic group response to the new sex education policy set out by Ontari-owe LIE-berals. The party formerly seen as most friendly to ethnic voters was besieged by those voters who they thought would support them most fully! LIE-beral values are strongly at odds with the sexual mores of many ethnic groups- especially Muslims and stupid LIE-berals never even noticed till the protestors showed up!)
Every time the conversation of populism in Canada comes up, the usual suspects start wringing their hands. This threatens their privilege.
Good. Let them dwell on it. Maybe it’ll force them back to reality.
(OH I doubt that! LIE-berals and their radical allies are on a great quest to ALTER REALITY! LIE-berals are like Soviets in that they believe anybody who would oppose them in any small way must be crazy and thus locked up for treatment! The dream that obsessed Pierre Trudeau- the dream of destroying what he called “Cdn Imperialism” lives on in the hearts of a new generation of radical trouble makers seeking to socially engineer us into something unrecognizable! And Our idiot Boy Justin- he who admires Communist Chinese “for the way they get things done” and who speaks warmly of his friendship with dictator castro; he whose brother Sacha admires bloody handed Cuban dictator Castro as the greatest of all leaders in South America; he whose father praised “the genius of Chairman Mao in rushing thirty million Chinese to the gallows; has shown us the anti democratic and anti western poison at the heart of the LIE-beral party!)
