It’s a clear case of if you promote it, they will come.
In late January Mayor John Tory — echoing the sentiments of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — declared that Toronto’s doors were wide open to immigrants, refugees and assorted other new Canadians.
(And now that the bill is coming due- with no move by federal LIE-berals to offer up any funding Jackass John may start cooling his excitement! And his mood may be even worse next spring when he hits us all with new taxes to cover the welfare costs of the new friends LIE-berals are buying for their next election! LIE-beral stupidity and short sighted policy is pitting ordinary Cdns against spend thrift LIE-berals whose only consideration is clinging to power at any price!))
His words — like Trudeau’s — were, in my view, cheap political grandstanding aimed at showing a kinder, gentler face in the wake of a President Donald Trump’s travel ban on those desiring to come to the U.S. from seven Muslim-dominated countries.
“I am proud of our city’s legacy of acceptance and inclusion…,” Tory said at the time. “No one should be excluded on the basis of their ethnicity or nationality.”
That magnanimous invitation, coupled with Tory and council reaffirming its commitment to Toronto as a sanctuary city, no doubt sent a distinct message far and wide.
But like most of the back-of-the-napkin planning that occurs under the guise at City Hall, that message, cheap grandstanding or not, has come with a heavy price.
At a community development meeting last week, the committee heard that $20-million extra will be needed to be added to the $135-million hostel budget to house and feed the surge of refugee claimants that have already come and are anticipated to arrive in this city — from the beginning of next month to the end of next year.
(And none of these oh so generous LIE-berals seem to have considered the long term consequences of dumping masses of immigrants into Toronto hostels- those inhospitable poverty palaces that are becoming monuments to LIE-beral economic failure- inhabited as they are by un-needed and unwanted workers! And we know that long term poverty and minimal employment are good fertilizer for growing radicals! Have the wrong job skills or language deficiencies etc- and you will become a `client` of the poverty palaces.)
According to the city report, the number of refugees accessing city-run shelters- motels/hotels- has increased from 11.2% in February of 2016 to 25% last month. In terms of numbers, city spokesman Jennifer Wing told me in 2017 alone the shelter system has helped 16,500 clients this year, 4,000 of them refugees.
(That`s nice- I wonder how the new arrivals will enjoy the no work, no money, no language skills and no real welcome from many ordinary Cdns who are painfully aware that the new arrivals HAVE NOT been properly vetted to sort out terrorists and assorted criminal types! With the added bonus that one can even be a proven KILLER and still be entitled to make your pitch to LIE-beral hug a thug judges in hope of staying here in spite of ordinary Cdn sensibilities!)
(LIE-berals have already refused to deport CONVICTED Muslim terrorists. LIE-berals are currently hearing an immigration appeal from a refugee who just happens to be a former leader of a Guatemalan death squad! But Our idiot Boy likes those Latin killers- Cuban despot Castro was a great family friend to several generations of Trudopes so we should probably brace ourselves for this creep to come and live amongst us courtesy of LIE-berals!)
One thing that became abundantly clear when I questioned city staff is the extra expenses presented last week are not for any of the 2,241 Syrian refugees that started coming to Canada in early 2016. City spokesman Jennifer Wing said there were no government-assisted Syrian refugees staying in city-run sites in 2017.
However according to Mary Celucci of COSTI Immigrant Services, only 13% of the GARs from Syria who arrived last year are employed because lack of proficiency in English continues to be a barrier–meaning they are still on Ontario Works.
(And we know from other sources that living with a situation that involves things like poverty and unemployment and that sense of exclusion that comes from living among people you lack the language skill to talk to and who also hold views, values and morals you find unsuitable - is a great motivator to get radical and decide to lash put at Cdn infidels! And joining a criminal gang is a great way to supplement the income!)
The city report says most recent refugee claimants are coming in droves from Nigeria, Eritrea and Ethiopia.
The influx has already taken a toll on resources this year. As the report shows, the city’s shelter, support and housing division has gone $10.3-million over budget to date, which included an extra $4.3-million allocated to provide 200 rooms and food for refugee families at undisclosed Quality Hotel and Suites and Radisson Hotel locations. The Toronto Plaza Hotel on Wilson Ave. is also providing 70 rooms for refugee claimants.
(And now should we ask if these people are being put up in better conditions than run of the mill welfare cases can expect? How fully are LIE-berals prepared to discriminate in favour of their newly bought friends? And will this stuff become an eventual election issue? The majority of Cdns are already annoyed with LIE-berals over this illegal immigration; with Our idiot Boy Justin even being compared in news media to a crazy cat lady who compulsively collects strays!)
That $10.3-million overage and the $20-million needed until December 2018 does not in any way cover the Ontario Works payments for which both claimants and refugees are eligible. Predictably, city officials informed me they “do not track” what percentage refugee claimants comprise of the total OW caseload.
(In other words the extra $30 million is simply for residential living space in Toronto and does not include for welfare payments, clothing allowance, dental work and etc. That neither LIE-berals nor their Hog allies wish to track the cost of dealing with illegals is logical given their determination NOT to tell us how they are using OUR money! LIE-berals do not even want to tell us how many illegals are here. Sure we do get vague updates from LIE-beral friendly media- so many coming into Quebec in a given month but its all disjointed and vague- with NO total numbers and no regular reports from the multiple entry points being used. LIE-berals will NOT want to track anything that might expose the failings of any of their policies?)
Still I’m sure when the annual Moving of the Shells exercise (aka the 2018 operating budget) kicks off later this week, councillors will do as they always do—bury their heads in the sand about this pressure and so many others.
An ability to pay seems no longer to be a priority at City Hall.

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos caused quite a stir last week, particularly among Ontario teacher unions, by announcing — then cancelling — a visit to Ontario public schools.
The president of the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario said DeVos “should keep her backwards ideas out of Ontario,” with the president of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation later adding DeVos’ ideas have “no value in the Ontario education system.”
It’s shocking that professional educators are so opposed to considering different ideas and points of view.
(Ontari-owe teachers do not believe there is anything out there that qualifies as an “alternative idea” related to education. Our teachers are dedicated to further eroding the system and do not want to discuss ways to improve it! Their major focus- once you get them off the topic of MORE GRAVY- is killing the literacy tests brought in during the Mike Harris era because so many kids were graduating without being able to spell, add or subtract. Worse- their grammar and vocabulary deficiencies made them almost illiterate. Parents feared that lazy teachers were producing a generation of numbskulls! Hence the literacy tests to hold teachers to a minimum standard- one that Hog teachers now insist is unfair and un-necessary- in spite of currently falling academic performances!)
Surely when it comes to something as important as the education of our children, we should be open to alternative systems and innovations, not simply dismiss them due to a personal dislike of an individual. DeVos is known for supporting independent schools. Supporters of independent schools are often cast as being anti-public schools. But different types of schools can exist in harmony with one another.
(Actually such different schools cannot exist side by side in Ontari-owe as it will cause major social strife amongst certain ethnic groups, Teacher unions and govt- with parents on the sidelines cursing all the parties with vested interests in the status quo and the gravy that flows from it!)
(Consider the case of Rohan Ranger- who arrived in Toronto at age 12 from an English speaking Carribean Island- in spite of English being his mother tongue he was illiterate. When he left school at age 16 to become a drug dealer- he was STILL functionally illiterate! This is not really an indictment of our school system- rather it is a condemnation of the incredibly sloppy LIE-beral immigration system that will let in any doofus who is capable of marking an X on a ballot next to the name of a LIE-beral politician! Ranger is currently serving a life sentence for murder- with his charges for drug dealing plea bargained out of existence and one has to ask what benefit came to Canada from allowing the goof to enter here?)
(IN another case- a student from a visible minority was in his high school hallway and finished drinking a can of pop- and chucked the empty can into a corner and moved on. Unfortunately the school principal happened to be behind the kid and acted swiftly- ordering the kid to pick up the can and dispose of it properly. The kid is well versed in legal voodoo and uttered the phrases so beloved of guilty black people- he said the usual stuff: “its not mine” and “why are you bothering me” and “you are a bigot’ and etc- to no avail. The kid ended up in the office- defiant to the last and was suspended from school for 3 days by annoyed principle who knows very well that if some other kid had slipped on the can and got hurt- he would be looking at a lawsuit!)
(The ethnic kid showed up next morning with both his parents and a lawyer- threatening to sue principal and school for bigotry! Sadly- school authorities are chosen mainly for their ability to make trouble go away- and telling the lawyer anything such as “Go ahead- I will see you in court: is an ESCALATION of the trouble! So kid came back to school convinced that white people are vulnerable to black B.S and threats of legal action! Clearly different parents have wildly different expectations- like polite behaviour- for educational standards!)
(Or the case of Jordan Manners- another black kid- age 14 and known as “Stacks” to his pals- as in “he always has stacks of cash in his pockets” courtesy of his drug trading activities! Stacks was murdered in his school hallway- apparently he stepped on the toes of other drug dealers and was taken out)
(During the police investigation into the Stacks murder, it was discovered that a Muslim girl had been sexually assaulted at the school- dragged into a washroom by several black youths and compelled to perform oral sex on them. Eventually she was released after regular school hours had ended- traumatized but physically unharmed. She was spotted in a distressed condition by a female teacher and with teacher taking the kid to the office for a further chat with principle.)
(As a Muslim girl the sexual assault was a deeply religious offense and she was terrified that her parents would find out about her disgrace and blame her. Principle decided the best thing to do was say nothing! No cops, no notice to the girls parents, no warning to other kids or parents of the sexual predators roaming the school. The clowns got away with it for over a year- until a swarm of cops started asking questions related to Stacks- at which point the sex assault became public news! In this case- diversity is CLEARLY a weakness rather than a strength! A 15 year old girl was assaulted in a school and the best answer teachers can come up with is SHUT UP? SAY NOTHING?)
(In another case- an urban and urbane couple in their middle 40`s suddenly found that she was pregnant! Who would have thought it- years after they gave up trying- such a happy thing- that brought a problem with it! They were DINKS- double income and no kids with that urbane life style- and living on the edge of Parkdale because it was close to work and they could buy a big old house cheap and renovate it six ways from Sunday! But now wife is pregnant- and it is INCONCEIVABLE that THEIR CHILD- the one they expect to be a scholar- should go to school in Parkdale!)
(How can the kid become a scholar of note if he is surrounded by poor kids who cannot speak English? How will he shine in a class spiced with the children of drug addicts and hookers? How can there be academic excellence if there are numerous kids in the class not even getting breakfast? And how will the kid get to school as he lives too close to be allowed on a bus and is vulnerable to predators if parents let him walk to school on his own? Mom will have to give up her job and walk the kid to and from school so he wont be snatched off the street like Sharin Keenan and others! Or else parents will have to sell their suddenly impractical but nice house and move some place else that has a better and safer neighbourhood- and the cost will be killer! Again- diversity- and sloppy LIE-beral immigration policy- coupled with LIE-beral catch and release games with criminals is Not a diversity strength for Cdns!)
(And the final sting for the parents? Until Mom got pregnant and was suddenly forced to confront the ugly realities of sending her cherished young child out into the urban life of Parkdale- these people were dedicated to the idea of diversity and open borders- LIE-beral style! Now they have a kid and want DESPERATELY TO FLEE the urban LIE-beral mess for the sake of their child- off to some place with a lot of educated white people and no guns, drugs, hookers or gangs!)
Quebec and the four western provinces already provide partial funding to independent schools while maintaining a robust, public, government-run school system.
These partial funding grants, which range between 35% and 80% of the per-student amount provided to public schools, allow lower- and middle-class families more options if, for any reason, they decide their local public school is not the best option.
(And we already know- thanks to jackass John Tory- when he ran as head of the Ontari-owe Conservative Party- that offering public funds for private or semi private schools is political suicide! To many people of all ethnic backgrounds and political beliefs will panic and fight for fear their will be left behind on the wrong side of the city! Nobody wants their kids to be schooled in wonderful diverse Parkdale! And they don’t want their kids to be part of a police investigation into sexual assault or murder at school either! They don’t even want their kids to learn how to legally dump garbage in a hallway and get away with it! Diversity in Ontari-owe has become an ugly poison!)
Repeated research has shown that empowering parents with more choice for their children’s education tends to improve all schooling, both public and independent.
(Teachers and other union Hogs are the tail that wags the Cdn political dog thanks to LIE-berals buying their votes with huge gobs of gravy and Hogs will NOT permit such a change in their status without a MAJOR WAR! Teachers are not doing it for the kids as they claim- they are sticking it TO the kids! And to tax payers as well!)
In Canada, independent schools are often characterized as catering only to the wealthy.
But a recent study in British Columbia, which looked at the income levels of families who choose non-elite, independent schools compared to families who choose government-run, public schools, found they were nearly the same.
Simply put, independent school families in B.C. don’t look much different than public school families.
(Its all a question of parental attitudes- you can be poor and still recognize the value of education for your kid or you can be a rich and selfish Hog who thinks kids are disposable commodities and cash cows to be milked!)
Funding for independent schools help families afford tuition so their children can attend schools that may otherwise be out of reach and available only to families with higher incomes.
Back in Ontario, the provincial NDP education critic recently suggested more money be spent on public schools, implying that the observed problems in Ontario schools (for example, declining math scores) are due to a dearth of resources.
(More money for education is Hog slang meaning: “we need more gravy NOW”! Or we will embarrass LIE-berals by exposing how badly kids are being educated!)
This assertion stands in contrast to the reality of spending on K-12 public education in Ontario, which has increased by $7.1 billion (or 36.6%) between 2005-06 and 2014-15.
(And with various technical reports suggesting the value of very costly LIE-beral all day kindergarten fades to nothing quite rapidly as well! Its just LIE-berals creating jobs for union Hogs because school enrollements are dropping steadily as our population ages- and LIE-berals desperately NEED those teacher votes to cling to power at any price- with the kids as pawns in the Hog/LIE-beral dance of power and privilege!)
Even after accounting for inflation and enrollment differences, Ontario spent 23.4% more per student in 2014-15 than it did a decade prior.
(Hog greed is so huge that LIE-berals cannot shovel cash into Hog pensions fast enough to keep up with Hog entitlements! LIE-berals have increased school budgets FIFTY PERCENT faster than health care budgets- in spite of health care users increasing in number even as the number of kids in school SHRINKS!)
Government support of independent schools is not an American idea.
Ontario stands alone among the large provinces in Canada in refusing to assist lower- and middle-class families who prefer independent schooling for their child.
All children should be able to access a school that meets their needs and allows them to succeed, whether inside or outside the public system.
(Allowing more independent schools in Otari-owe would expose the catastrophic effects of decades of LIE-beral policy that has been a TOTAL FAILURE!)
Although many do not consider DeVos the best advocate for this cause, everyone with an interest in education in Ontario should be willing to open their minds beyond the status quo.
They need only look across Canada — not solely to the United States — for working examples of education alternatives and innovations.

In favour of what? I'm in favour of immigration. That doesn't mean I'm in favour of having 30% of our population be foreign born, as the census says will be the case in 20 years. It doesn't mean I'm in favour of bringing in tens or hundreds of thousands of third world trash from Haiti and Somali and Honduras because they claim to be refugees, even though they don't qualify under UN definitions. It doesn't mean I feel we should be bringing in a hundred thousand Muslims every year, largely from countries which are filled with extremists. And I don't honestly know anyone who is.

First, it was eliminating street checks, then banning them from the Pride parade. Next, was the transformation policing and soon after, resource officers were kicked out of schools.
What’s next?
Well, a headline on a Newstalk 1010 poll by DART Insight and Communications indicates the degrading of policing by activists and some politicians continues.
“Six in 10 are scared of the police” was the headline followed by the research, saying, “Today, six in 10 (61%) Torontonians indicate they’d be scared if they were pulled over by a police officer for no apparent reason.”
(One HAS TO ASK WHY? Why are people scared of cops? Are there that many people STILL texting while driving? Are there that many people with BAD driving habits who justly FEAR seeing a cop in the rear view mirror? Are there that many Torontonians who are doing something or other that they SHOULD NOT? We KNOW that Yankees who get shot by cops are usually armed and dangerous- having outstanding warrants and a habit of fighting back to avoid arrest WILL get you shot! But is this standard behaviour for Torontonians? Or is this poll RIGGED?)
It’s easy for media — social or corporate — to run with such a story and many did. What they may not have told you is this determination comes of a sampling of 814 people — through an “online panel.”
(OH? An ONLINE panel made up of people probably carefully SELECTED for their views! That explains a great deal!)
There are 2.8-million Torontonians who did not take part.
Still, the headline is out there and working it’s way through the news cycle, regardless.

“It’s all about the police budgeting numbers,” said Toronto Police Association president Mike McCormack. “Make no mistake that is what this is all about.”
Needless to say, he’s not buying that stat of six out of 10 Torontonians being afraid of the cops.
“We don’t hear that and we don’t see that,” McCormack said.
(Oh but you COULD hear that- just ask the guy waiting for the cop to discuss the stop sign he rolled through, or the guy with the busted headlight that has not been fixed in 16 months, or the guy with the LARGE bag of weed- under his seat- the one that is NOT simply for medicinal purposes but is part of a DEAL, or the guy with the items for sale under the tarp in back of the truck- the items he does not actually own! All these people have reason to fear cops- but NOT because cops are bad or wrong somehow!)
Of course, there are well-publicized incidents where policing goes wrong.
Whether it’s a police shooting of Sammy Yatim or an officer losing his or her cool on a guy like Waseem Khan, who filmed police arresting a man that he would have his cell phone seized and he could get AIDS from the suspect’s spit. There was the time when cops were caught on their own dashboard camera mocking a Down Syndrome woman named Francie Munoz. There are real issues that come up each year.
(It is LIE-beral time at the cop corral- nobody seems to recall the drug addict/transvestite/hooker cops arrested about 25 years ago- the one who BIT a cop hard enough to draw blood during the arrest and then gloated: “hahaha- now you have AIDS just like me”! And LIE-beral hug a thug judge decreed that cops had NO RIGHT to snoop into his medical records to see IF he might just really have Aids? So the bitten cop spent 6 months taking an early version of the anti Aids drug cocktail and shunned his wife and kids as well- for fear of them getting too close and catching what he MIGHT already have!)
But 99% of policing goes well and we just don’t hear about it. My interaction with the pubic tells me people are afraid of gangsters, drug dealers and their bullets. Not police.
In fact, the Toronto police service of 2017 is not only ethnically diverse to reflect the community, but is also diverse with experience, too. So many officers today come from varied career backgrounds and have taken on policing as a second career and are good at their jobs.
(Toronto Police Service even has Muslim dorks on the force- such as Imam Khan- the Muslim religious leader hired to minister to cops in the same way that priests and rabbis traditionally do. Too bad Imam Khan got into trouble for his blog explaining his version of female rights- or lack of them! Such as their right NOT to leave the house unless hubby allows it! It’s the usual Muslim anti female crap- but he IS an employee of the Toronto Police Force- or was till his crap was exposed! And in standard Muslim style, Khan says he was misquoted and taken out of context!)
This is going to be needed when legal marijuana is soon introduced to society and prevalent everywhere.
This same poll also says Chief Mark Saunders is the “lowest rated in 18 years” at 69%. Being chief of police is not a popularity contest. He or she is not a politician, but the chief constable leading officers and answering only to the police board of civilians and elected.
His or her job description is not to be politically-correct, a revenue collector for governments, or famous and connected, but is to keep the community safe from crime and enforce the laws of the land.
As Mayor John Tory rightfully said on Newstalk 1010: Saunders “is doing a good job.” That he doesn’t kiss the media’s ring or jump to attention for every special interest group’s demand is actually refreshing.
But what I worry about next, after cutting the number of officers, not letting them street check or mentor in the schools is the move to replace many of them with cameras, like we see with the electronic checkouts at the grocery store.
Imagine cameras handing the revenue generation through photo radar everywhere and governments installing Big Brother-style eyes in the sky in every corner of the city to monitor behaviour.
Cameras won’t call in sick, lose their cool, say the wrong thing or be labelled as racist. But they will also have no human concern about the humans that police serve and protect.
The technology that is there for society could go from police officers with discretion into one massive police state — thanks in part to 814 anonymous people polled.
Be careful what you wish for, folks.

(I say its probably already too late! There is a basic lack of civility in the city. One sees it in the amount of garbage dumped in parks and other such public places. One sees it in the abuse handed out to TTC workers and others. If you don’t own it or feel any sense of belonging then its easy to defile a place. This is the creeping poison that we can thank Black Lives matter and wretched LIE-berals with their crippling taxes and endless greed and rabid Islamophobia for! We are becoming aliens in our own city!)
