There is no loophole, the border is all of Canada. Whomever fed the lie that if you cross the border that doesn't have infrastructure for cars makes it void really did a number on the media, if the PMO started that, they should be held in Contempt. The land border is still the border and if they landed in the USA first they HAVE TO apply to the USA first.

If a person landed in the USA and then crosses the border to Canada, they have to apply to the USA - NOT CANADA- for asylum.

Nothing in the safe third party agreement allows an illegal to come to Canada through a forest and claim in Canada, you have to apply to the USA

The point that asylum seekers entering illegally are criminals?
