Bonjour Jomoulin: You are studying French or are French and a student?

1. When I perceive of a French cook (not often), I think of an Audry Hepburn type with a little apron on (nothing else except a wee French cook hat), standing at the stove, cooking crepes. She has a cute bum and a little ski slope nose. I come up behind her and gradually....................................woops, wrong forum.:evil4:
2. See 1. above.
3. Mediterranean cook - about the same as French, but her ass is bigger, and she's had a shower.
4. See 4. above.
5. Cheerios only, usually mixed with crepes.
6. In a bowl, add milk and sugar, use spoon...........eat.

And there we are. Hope this helped. Good luck with future surveys.

Welcome to CC.

When you perceive the Canadian sense of humour, how do you perceive it?
Yep ALL Canadians are just like me. They'll lie like les buggers about it, but don't you believe it.

I perceive the French cook as being a fairly good cook, when I hear about French cuisine I think of frog's legs. I think the Mediterranean cook is a very good at cooking pasta and when I think of the Mediterranean cook I think of Maccaroni, Spaghetti, Ravioli and Olives. I eat cereals about 5 days a week, mostly bran.

A French Cook is someone that primarily cooks foods in the French style.

I don't think of any certain person, or type of person that is a "French Cook". They could range from a provincial housewife, to a Gourmet Chef of a 5 star restaurant. I have personally enjoyed foods in tiny villages in France, as well as in the cities. Some of the best food I enjoyed was at farmhouse, when I bicycled from Bamberg, Germany to Paris in 1963.

A Mediterranean Cook, uses some of the aspects of any or all of the countries that are on tat sea. It may have aspects of French, Spanish, Italian, Greek, Turkish, Egyptian, Libian, Moroccan, etc. flavors to the foods.

There is no certain type of cook for these foods either. They can range from home cooks to Gourmet Chefs.

Yes, I eat cereals, bot cold cereals and hot ones. I prefer whole grain, unsweetened cereals. I eat all forms of grains, both mixed ones or one type of grain.

My favorite cereal is steel cut oatmeal (also called Irish Oatmeal), which takes about 20 minutes to cook.

Back when I was in the local Rotary Club, we sponsored a high school girl to go to France for a study exchange. Turned out she really liked the food: she now hosts a show on Food Network Canada, called French Food At Home.

French cooks in my perception, have a well established reputation for using various sauces (especially white sauces) to disguise or overpower the taste of their base ingredients. I've heard, historically its because fresh ingredients (and meat in particular) didn't keep well in French climates. Personally I don't mind French cuisine occasionally but the sauces get to be a bit much for me.

Mediterranean to me can mean variety of things, ranging from the west/central Spanish, French or Italian, to Eastern Mediterranean such as Greek or Turkish or also North African. When I thinkof it, I see olives, olive oil, tomatoes, grape leaves, mutton and lamb dishes.

The cereal I eat the most is oatmeal porridge: boil some water, add a pinch of salt, oats and when its served I usually add a touch of brown sugar or honey. My wife adds raisins and milk to hers.

1. With a tall hat and a funny uniform.......oh and one of those really annoying tiny mustaches.
2. I have no idea what it means and I think for myself, thank you.
3. See above.
4. Yes. The ones that come from grains much the same as cows eat.
5. Generally I go out to the field and have a nosh. Sometimes I stick with the barley but when my wild side kicks in, I might mix a bit of rye in.

Older than the hills but younger than the mountains.
Please.
Optional.

Now that I have that out of my system. My view of French cooks and cooking is that they have history on their side when it comes to culinary delights. They have a well known rep for specialty dishes. The same goes for Mediterranean cooks. I do eat cereal. My favorite is Raisin Bran though I also like the many brands of granola that are now available. I also eat a lot of oatmeal porridge which I prefer to have with a dollop of peanut butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, a dash of raisins and thick cream.
