Didn't read through the entire thread before responding. :)
That's ok, you didn't miss much, just people trying to pin it to the right or the left, then along came a troll, that wants to troll me. Ya ya, I know, I know, what's the guy thinking (I think it's Lily's masculine alter ego). But ya, you didn't miss much.

Palin should be brought to justice.

United States Code: Title 18,2385. Advocating overthrow of Government | LII / Legal Information Institute

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or
Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or
Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.

As used in this section, the terms “organizes” and “organize”, with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons.
Palin is guilty of this regardless of whether anyone actually shoots anyone. Her media campaign advocates it.

Grandchild of former manager Dallas Green killed in shooting

"PHILADELPHIA -- The nine-year-old girl killed by a gunman who opened fire at an Arizona congresswoman's event was the granddaughter of former major league manager, executive and pitcher Dallas Green.
Green managed the Philadelphia Phillies to their first World Series championship in 1980. He currently is an executive adviser with the team.
Christina-Taylor Green was shot Saturday outside a Tucson grocery story when she went to see Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was meeting with constituents. Giffords was among 13 people wounded in the shooting that killed six people, including Arizona's chief federal judge and an aide for the Democratic lawmaker.
The young girl had a brother named Dallas. Their father worked in the scouting department for the Los Angeles Dodgers.".....

There should actually be a thread on this, not posted by a wingnut (JBee).

It likely wouldn't have gone so out to lunch, right out of the gate.

Northern Ontario,
I just finished watching an interview with the sheriff in the case and while I realise that sheriffs in the US are elected under a political banner, but I found that sheriff to be totally unprofessional in playing the political card in the middle of a criminal investigation.
Thankfully he is not in charge because he might decide to arrest every right wing radio host in the US.

It's pretty hard to expect people in a forum to not bring politics into it, when the sheriff can't refrain.

Northern Ontario,
Since we all heard this afternoon that they found in his safe a letter from Representative Gifford (probably a form letter) thanking him for attending a meeting or rally, might we then assume that he could be a disillusioned Democrat?.......or not!!

And McCain is a ......???????

Come on, you can do it!

Republican!!!.

Yeah, about as much of a Republican as Gov. Schwarzenegger, in name only.. not a real Republican.

McCain is pro-immigration, and have many Liberal ideas.. not even sure why he labels himself Republican, however since he lost the Presidential run he has become sorta anti-immigration..

"I should add that the fact you *yawn* about a horrible tragedy where a nine year old girl is murdered in cold blood shows me just what kind of person you really are.".....

I first caught the news yesterday at 2pm (this board`s time) and posted 8 minutes later. It appeared to be just breaking on CNN with no known info other than it occuring at a congresswoman`s gathering at a Safeway location in Arizona. CNN was flinging around numbers regarding reported shots fired etc and little else. "Oh", I thought, "another all too common mass-murder taking place in the United States"...hence my `yawning` at this news.

No reports of little nine year old girls, judges or the like falling victim...but not long after, about an hour into the incident, CNN DID confirm the congresswoman died of her injuries. Sad, I thought. But then, this did take place in the United States, land of the brave/home of the free (to purchase a gun like one would a pack of cigarettes at the local convenience store).

Still, no matter who the victims were in this `shocking` and `surprising` tragedy (to some), I still find it just another example of a gun culture gone mad so no apologies from this Canadian for my views.

Mark, actually he was caught by those two bystanders(they say that by them doing so they probably saved many lives) and is currently in custody.

However, they are now saying that he may NOT have been working alone and they are currently looking for the second suspect(they have pictures of him, so it hopefully won't be that long before they catch that "person".

I should add that the fact you *yawn* about a horrible tragedy where a nine year old girl is murdered in cold blood shows me just what kind of person you really are.

I am a great fan of John McCain. I believe he should have been elected President, and I increasingly believe Obama is little more than an empty suit.

Although I do not share some peoples' loathing for the man.

And although McCain does seem increasingly marginalized in the disasterously polarizing political atmosphere of the USA........it is slightly....disengenuous to doubt his "Republican" label after a majority of party members country-wide elected him as their candidate for the highest office....only 3 years ago.

As they should have.

During the 2008 campaign, many of us in the "commentariat," including me, openly worried that occasional calls for violence at Palin rallies would lead to bloodshed. To his credit, Sen. John McCain eventually stepped in and called a halt. Since Obama's inauguration, there have been many signs that threats to public officials have been rising.

It's the only way Palin knows.

Obviously a false-flag operation carried out by agents of the Democratic Party........................

The gunner had shaved his head just for the shootings and within minutes there had been claims that an anti-Semite Skinhead was behind the shootings.

No doubt, had the gunner gotten away, there would be a national manhunt at the moment for a "Tea Party Skinhead", and everyone in the GOP would be blamed for inciting murder.

Instead he was caught, name was released to the media, his facebook account was exposed before the FBI pulled the plug, his Highschool friends tweeted about him and it turns out he was just another crazed left-wing pseduo intellectual who thought he was the smartest man in the world (yet was failing his classes like another shooter genius Seung-Hui Cho...) and loved burning the American flag.

Despite this being painfully obvious there are still attempts from fringe Democrat intellectuals to paint this as some sort of Republican Hit on an otherwise, while Democrat, conservative politician in Arizonia...

Yankee gun mentality rears its ugly head again...

And CNN proves how on top of things they really are: They announced that the congresswoman was dead, and then later had egg on their face as they had to retract that falsehood. What a bunch or morons...

Your first statement reeks of Anti Americanism and lacks common sense. We have had mass killings here in Universities, in rural areas, in family dwellings. We may not have the frequency they do, but then again they are a hell of a lot bigger than us.

Thank goodness our feel good gun laws are there to protect.....nobody, but create revenue.

Your second statement about CNN is bang on.

the perpetrator was quoted as saying ''he doesn't trust government'' - that says much about him

Interestingly, the Congresswoman was said to be 'targeted' by the Palin campaign. I wonder how that is going to pan out.

The only thing I like about Sarah Palin are her moo moo's, but your statement is as ignorant as any redneck. I guess moo moo's is kinda of sexist, but I am a man and I doo like moo moo's.

Our Airport customs' agents had better start profiling anyone who looks even remotely like this:

Just to be on the safe side. By the way, to what foreign contry does he trace his ancestry if we go back far enough? I'd say NATO start planning now.

Again, what a ridiculous statement. Do you know where profiling originated from? If so explain.

As they should have.

Read please, the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

Boy oh boy....!!!

1. I was not loathing for the man, I was praising him for taking a stand and asking the audience at a political rally if anyone would do the job of an illegal picking crops for 1 year that he would pay that person $50 hr to do it..

nobody stood up. Everyone states that illegals take jobs from Americans, but when offered $50 hr to do that very job, not one US Citizen stood up and took McCain offer.

2. The 2nd Amendment, yeah my point is, it's easier for any nutbar to get a gun, but as a truck driver hauling HAZMAT material I have to go through more checks, finger print and background checks, prove my citizenship or residency before I can haul detergent for a soap factory.

3. I know plenty of illegals here in the United States, they are just trying to get by, have a better life than they would in Mexico and do out door construction that I would not even consider doing at the rate of pay..

If the government kicked out all the illegals today..hypothetically speaking, and you could get the lazy welfare bumbs to get off their asses and work for less money than they are ready get on welfare.. that would be great.

Assuming thos jobs could be filled, farmers would have to raise the wages, which raises the price of their crops... by the time it gets to the store, Americans would be paying Canadian food prices.. ooops!!

**** that, let the illegals in.

As for point one....sorry I was unclear. I meant that I did not share the loathing many have for Barak Obama.....I am an admirer of McCain.

Point two...OF COURSE you have tighter controls on HAZMAT materials....some guy goes nuts with a gun, a few people die.....somebody screws up with HAZMAT.....

Estimates of the death toll vary greatly. Most sources say at least 3,000 people died from immediate exposure to the gas, while higher estimates go up to 8,000. In the two decades following the night of the disaster, approximately 20,000 additional people have died from the damage they received from the gas.
Another 120,000 people live daily with the effects from the gas, including blindness, extreme shortness of breath, cancers, birth deformities, and early onset of menopause. Chemicals from the pesticide plant and from the leak have infiltrated the water system and the soil near the old factory and thus continue to cause poisoning in the people who live near it. Just three days after the disaster, the chairman of Union Carbide, Warren Anderson, was arrested. When he was released on bail, he fled the country. Although his whereabouts were unknown for many years, recently he was found living in the Hamptons in New York. Extradition procedures have not started because of political issues. Anderson continues to be wanted in India for culpable homicide for his role in the Bhopal disaster.

and nobody has a constitutional right to transport HAZMAT.
The USA has every right to boot out every person not a citizen.....that is the very foundation of the nation state......
