Gun violence has dropped because gun control measures are having their intended effect.

So....prove it. Provide some evidence. Do some research (that DOESN"T mean cough up articles of other peoples' opinions)

Your attitude is "I've made up my mind, don't confuse me with the facts".

lol

That simply doesn't cut it.

ANd yet criminals still have guns despite it being against the law. Obviously more gun laws do not work. Whereas lengthy prion sentences have been proven 100% effective at keeping convicted felons off the street.

It would be nice if Hoid could make as much sense as you do. I always thought there is a 50% chance of getting something right!

Gun control really works — here's the science to prove it

https://www.businessinsider.com/science-of-gun-control-what-works-2018-2

There are more than 38,000 gun deaths in the US every year, and approximately 85,000 non-fatal injuries.

Despite some restrictions on gun research, scientists have sought to evaluate how certain policies affect gun deaths.

read em and weep
Policies that seem to reduce rates of gun violence include stricter background checks, limiting access to dangerous weapons, and prohibiting domestic abusers from owning weapons.
Looks to me like you are used to feeling before posting about guns, rather than thinking.
Behaviour laws have probably made the biggest dent in gun violence. Stricter controls on who can get guns only controls the general public access, not criminal access. And that's just concerning guns. Violence is far more than just guns.

Which is exactly the point.

Why not try to do a bit of thinking for yourself, and present facts that you research to support your argument, instead of looking for articles written by someone else?

If you'd have watched the episode, you'd have discovered it's the changing attitude towards violence that made the difference, not the gun laws.

One small caveat............the population is aging.

The majority of murder is carried out by young males.

Less young males, less murder.

My point is that gun control has little to do with murder rates.

I can't prove gun laws prevent murder anymore than I can prove right to carry legislation prevents murders.

I can show that the two do not seem to be connected.

One that hates diversity of thought, and the rights of the individual, and loves state imposed restriction.

A culture dying..........not a culture developing.
I thought it was a culture of declining violence

Yes, when it requires a course and licensing.

A sane gun law, one of very few.

Constitutional carry requires no permission from the state, however.
gun control works - you have said so yourself
