In Canada there are tens of thousands of defensive gun uses every year.......against people and animals. And yes, a significant number were against people. Nobody in my family and nobody I know has ever had their house burn down. We all have fire extinguishers, and several of us have escape ladders for the top floor. We don't 100% rely on 911 and the government.
