There is nothing wrong with a right to hunt or even to hear arms but if you are bearing arms because you feel threatened by the Crown and think that you will have to defend yourself against civil authority, you are committing a serious crime. That is how Mounties get bush-whacked and murdered by "good 'ole boys"
Thought crimes?

By that definition Quebecois need to be disarmed immediately.

All those "vigilante" band aids, fire extinguishers, privately owned books, etc must really threaten your common senses.

Have over 14 been killed by guns in any Canadian school yet?

I'm not sure what bull shit Scout organization you are part of, but it wasn't part of the organization I spent about 7 years involved with. Enough of your fcuking bull shit!
I just found out 1/2 hour ago in an e-mail that I'm being awarded a Bar to my Scout Medal of Good Service, so somebody thinks that I'm not "bullshit" out there ... maybe even a few.

My God but you have problems.

I don't lead a Troop or a Pack of any of that, these days. I'm way too long in the tooth for that. Young mothers are mostly taking over (the young fathers are thin on the ground and are nowhere to be seen in 2019).

I do work behind the scenes doing technical stuff and my volunteer contribution to Scouting amounts to a couple of man weeks total per year ( 100 hrs/year, approx.). I am a volunteer and I do do willingly.

It's a disgraceful sign of our decay as a society when volunteering to help youth, or for the military, or a church settle refugees or for any cause at all other than yourselves is somehow "liberal" or "prog". . Those were the values that made Canada great, not gun slinging.
Maybe most people can’t be bothered jumping through all the hoops and insinuation that they are child abusers .

Sorry?

Should we shut down kids hockey? That's rife with sex abusers.

The rules that Scouters have to follow are quite strict. None of us can ever be alone with kids in a room or any space, at all. There must always be two Scouters present. ... Always, without exception. We can't drive kids around in our cars without another Scouter being in the car with us. (A random, unchecked parent can drive any of them anywhere, any time without monitoring) We obviously do not share sleeping accomodations with children, ever. These are not just guidelines, they are enforced laws and they are there to protect the Scouter from legal action as much as the Scout from criminals. We are also registerred with the police, vetted by them and we have to submit current police checks every three years.

Unfortunately, amateur athletics have not caught up to Scouting, yet. A good number of coaches need police background checks now but they won't have those "multiple adult present" rules in place.

By the way, there needs to be a threshold number of Scouters present or we have to cancel their meetings.

This is serious stuff. I take it seriously, that's for damned sure.

By the was, one of my children went through the Cadets movement, instead and they are similarly vetted and monitored. There was a time when the DND operated Cadets in a loosey-goosey manner but DND has been largely separated from Cadets so that Canada is compliant with the international conventions on child combatants.

Really!

I would hope so. It's a sign that the rest of the troop is whistling and smiling under all difficulties, so I'd take it that they tolerate you! Good luck.
