I see this line of talking to be very hypocritical. The same people that jump up and down screaming " its the gun, not the owner", is also hell bent to exclude 3rd world countries and countries with poor human rights..

Northern Ontario,
Nah! run them over......and it's a lot easier if they are on foot or bike, not in a car of their own.....

Oh wait.......it's the same for guns too.........

Sigh.

No, it doesn't.

Let's recap:

That is not only in the developed world, but (according to the UN) the VERY DEVELOPED WORLD, this taken from the UN list of countries with Very High Human Development.

Sometimes one is forced to wonder if you can read.

Oh yes "VERY HIGH HUMAN DEVELOPMENT RIGHT!!. Here we go again.....What makes the Americans more highly developed than Canadians??? So, what other VERY HIGH HUMAN DEVELOPMENT COUNTRY has the same number of deaths per 100,000 than the Americans??

Tell me how does the shooting of an anchor woman, her camera man and the person being interviewed at an early hour, play to that?? If the American gun laws are so great why were they shot on camera?? The shooter was mentally twisted and his internet postings proved that. He still managed to get an automatic hand gun......no problem. He also used the internet to voice his angst long before going on his rampage.

No wonder we are told when accidentally making a minor traffic" faux pas" or mistake in some parts of the country, DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT!!

So, I am back to asking, do Canadians want to loosen their gun laws to match those of the US??? I VOTE NO!

That's how it works for cars too.

That was my point.

I vote YES. It is important that we can protect ourselves from crazies. Unlesss you are sitting in a doughnut shop Waiting for cops to show up to save you will just add to the undertaker's bankroll.

Wrong question. The real question : do Canadians want to repeal 35 years worth of freedom killing legislation that has not proven effective? That has not stopped 1 bullet.

Cripes! Where the hell do you live? You must live in some top secret, ultraviolent shooting gallery, somewhere.

I can walk anywhere, anytime in the most densly populated cities in Canada, night and day, in almost any neighbourhood ( I would avoid Winnipeg North but not Jane Finch and nowhere in Montreal) and the chances of my getting shot are literally lower than being struck by lightening. There is no highly populated urban area in the entire United States of America like that ... not one. (small towns, my maybe)

All I can say is, you live in a really bizarre corner of Canada, you are an American talking through your hat or you have a psychological disorder of some sort and you are afraid of non-existant shadows.

Oh yes "VERY HIGH HUMAN DEVELOPMENT .What makes the Americans more highly developed than Canadians???

Those infinitely inventive Americans are endlessly creative.

One of them just came up with the "Twitter-snuff"®.

Expect to see many more of them, now. It might just become a weekly event.

None of this would occur to a Canadian. We wouldn't comes up with a social media advancement like that.

ISIS might but not Canada.

Cripes! What fools paradise do you live in? None of that is a measure of how effective our gun laws are because we enjoyed all of that 35 years ago BEFORE the gun laws. If you want to give them any credit, you will have to show a shifting trend that coincided with the laws. However, you won't find it because it doesn't exist.

True we've been seeing improved trends but their rate of change are no better than the US. This tells you that something else is driving the trends. Perhaps, an aging baby boomer demographic? There is actually a stronger case for that than gun control.

So, it's the latter.

Calm down, try to enjoy life. It is nowhere as dangerous as you believe it to be .

... and try to get some help. The World is essentially a good place.
