Northern Ontario,
How much sillier can you get?? There is no more dead or less dead; understand GUNS are produced for KILLING. You can be taught how to use firearms but understand that the training in firearms is how to use a gun to kill safely. Safely??? It is an object made to kill. Why learn to kill in the first place!! That is one fxcked up reason to have a gun. Hunting for food is fine as long as the animal being hunted is not done so to extinction. After all when the human race finally wipes itself out, it would be comforting to some to know we left one or two other species to appreciate the world.
Lady, the older you get the sillier you are.....
And you still haven't explained why medical mistakes kills more people than guns....
Without your bullshîte song and dance and constant evasive tactics....

Giving birth!!!

It's more dangerous that firing your gun into a crowd!

Therefore, giving birth should be banned OR firing your gun into crowds should be legalized!!

Why must I explain why the health care system is making so many errors in the US. If you know this as a fact, I am sure you know the reasons as well.

Can you explain why guns kill twice as many kids than does cancer, or why children & teens were injured and killed by firearms 3 -1/2 times more than soldiers serving in Afghanistan during the same period?? I can, because guns are produced as killing machines and are not properly controlled by law in the US.

I may, possibly be older than you but I sure as hell am a lot smarter as well LOL.

You must be used to people believing you just because you say so....
And for the one who thinks guns are a phallic symbol....you must be a rabid feminist....

DaSleeper Tell me are you really that dense?? One can learn to swim, there are defensive driving courses and one must prove he/she knows how to drive to get a license. So far as I know, they do not give courses on how to dodge a bullet.

No but they give course on how to shoot.. and use a firearm properly..

What the individual does with that Firearm, or Car is anyones guess.

Funeral held for soldier killed in Quebec car attack | Top News | Reuters

I really doesn't matter about guns, if somebody wants you dead bad enough, they will use an axe, knife, car, brick, whatever is available that can do mortal damage to an individual.

So quit living your life in such fear retard, and you're not going to change anyones mind here about guns.

I think many people would disagree with your comparison because trama from a gun is an acute condition that leads to immediate death where as if you look at smoking (the leading cause of cancer), smoking leads to a number of chronic and terminal conditions, most will not occur while they are still considered youth.

If you don't believe me( I don't expect that you will), here is a statement from the CDC:

http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/ said:
If smoking continues at the current rate among U.S. youth, 5.6 million of today’s Americans younger than 18 years of age are expected to die prematurely from a smoking-related illness. This represents about one in every 13 Americans aged 17 years or younger who are alive today.

Bluebyrd, the CDC gives us a 5.6million person number so lets do some math...

What if 5.6million youth were to be killed by a firearm at today's rates of 33,000 ( adults and youth per year)...What is the earliest number of years that this would take( ie every firearm death being apply to 5.6million people)?

Here's the math===> 5,600,000 / 33,000 = 170 years.

Based on this math, I hearby declare your statement false and misleading beyond any reasonable doubt.

...two year old article about four year old data. Besides that only lowers them to generating ten times the rate of gun violence that is experienced out in the civilized parts of the planet. Big deal.

Gun control saved two lives in Alberta a few years ago.

Lets check out some of the comments:

I suspect there is more to the story than what TYT is bringing to the table. I don't believe these guys just asked them about the rodeo. I've watched hundreds of TYT videos on all the shootings of blacks in the US by police recently and they always seem to purposely downplay everything to make the cops looks bad. They were just.....once you hear that phrase from a bleeding heart you know your in trouble lol

These fkn jerks are leaving something out. No cop from either country is going to pull a gun and shoot a person for being friendly!! That's just BS. Furthermore, you just don't go around shooting people in the US and get away with it. We have very strong laws that protect everybody. I've been carrying a gun for 30 years and haven't had to use it but on two occasions and the Police got involved and I was in the right. I could have legally killed both of them because they came at me to attack but the mere sight of the gun made them stop in their tracks. I could have killed them but I gave them a break. I guarantee you that neither of those pricks will ever attempt to attack a law abiding citizen any more!! But you can bet on this, that cop had a good GD reason to reach for his heater. These fkers are just lying **** bags! Period!!

In what way do comments from retards mindlessly speculating add anything to this discussion?

Here's his letter. Can you spot the flaw in his logic?

Recently, while out for a walk in Nose Hill Park, in broad daylight on a paved trail, two young men approached my wife and me. The men stepped in front of us, then said in a very aggressive tone: “Been to the Stampede yet?”
We ignored them. The two moved closer, repeating: “Hey, you been to the Stampede yet?”
I quickly moved between these two and my wife, replying, “Gentle-men, I have no need to talk with you, goodbye.” They looked bewildered, and we then walked past them.
I speculate they did not have good intentions when they approached in such an aggressive, disrespectful and menacing manner. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ they did not pull a weapon of some sort, but rather concluded it was in their best interest to leave us alone.
Would we not expect a uniformed officer to pull his or her weapon to intercede in a life-or-death encounter to protect self, or another? Why then should the expectation be lower for a citizen of Canada or a visitor? Wait, I know – it’s because in Canada, only the criminals and the police carry handguns.

Oh, hell, let me spell it out for you. If, as Mr. Wawra "speculates," they "did not have good intentions," then why do you think they "left us alone" after he spoke to them? Is he such a powerful speaker that the mere sound of his thunderous voice cowed them?

Or is it more likely that they were being friendly to a couple of tourists, and upon being greeted with rudeness and hostility by Mr. Wawra, looked at each other, shrugged, and went on their way?

I'm pretty much thanking the Lawd Jeebus Cripes that this paranoid old fool didn't have a gun.

A simple "yes" may have ended the conversation with no hard feelings.

And a "What's the Stampede?" (difficult though it may be to conceive that one could go to Calgary during the Stampede and not know it was going on, I think this asswit could pull if off) might have led to a pleasant conversation without ballistics.

EDITED TO ADD: Oh, this is even better! Turns out these two criminals bent on violence were Calgary Stampede promoters giving out free tickets to the Stampede!

Thanks, Officer (ret.) Wawra. Like the U.S. needs to look even more stupid.

You are being obtuse, Tecumsehsbones. This is an experienced, trained police officer. There are so many subtleties that do not convey well with just words alone. You were not there. He was. It is time for you to get over it.

Yeah, you wanna see some "experienced, trained police officers" in action. Go to youtube and search for "police brutality." Might wanna do it on a three-day weekend when you got nothing else planned.

Maybe the Lord Jesus Christ can help me. Have you read some of this brave, upstanding (and retired, by the way) cop's other contributions to the public discourse?

You wanna continue to hitch your wagon to a f*cking imbecile, you go right ahead, James. Everybody else sees that he's a moron, and feels very lucky that he's not allowed to carry a gun in Canada.

You may have noticed that even the very pro-gun people on here aren't leaping in to defend Deputy Dumb*ss. There's a reason for that.

how does a youtube session become the defacto way to evaluate a retired police officer's training and experience?

What role does Jesus Christ take in your assessment of this guy?

so, just one letter can label a person a moron, so much so that people are glad a trained experienced officer is not carrying a gun?

You don't even know this guy and you are calling him a "f*cking imbecile". Which one of your biases is triggering this?
