yes, when a criminal is in a car accident, paramedics should wait until the police arrive, meanwhile they are free to provide care to your mother in the other car.
the world is full of weapons. do you have any proof that removing firearms from police is a good idea?
Just look at London bobbies and bats having a hard time containing knife homicides calling for the banning of knives, what's next?

Has it never occurred to you that the reason there are so many police involved shootings occurring in the US is because there are more legal guns in their world in the hands of realativelly normal humans as well as numbskulls, and the criminals ? The unbelievable profliferation of guns, is the problem, not criminals. mental patients or the normal everyday legal gun owner.
Police officers have a hard job, between fearing for their own lives and the need for caring not to mistake the good guys from the bad. In Canada it is the taser that gets inappropriately used and even with a milder weapon there have been unfortunate deaths.
Finally, you admit that you are not against all guns, just thd privately owned guns.
Police and criminals get to keep their guns.

For goodness sake. I have quite a number of American friends & relatives....I value them. I spend about 4 l/2 months there AND that is only since I retired. I love my country just not the winter weather. Since Trump I am considering seling the home down there and going to one of the other warmer places that are not quite as ferocious about needing to protect themselves from their fellow countrymen.

If they are impaired and behind the wheel they are a criminal. Also there are some houses that first responders will not enter until there is a police escort.
