Umm. . . actually, he was. Check out "The Searchers." He was ready and willing to murder his niece, for whom he had searched for years, because she'd "been with a buck."

That, of course, was one of his characters. Marion Morrison himself was a timid man. Check out his war record.

And in that movie, he was secretly in love with his sister-in-law. Good movie, too.

Pretty good spoof LOL. Still it seems to me if the US is so intent on reducing the population, it has not chosen the best way to do it. 7 children & teens dead a day is not nearly as efficient as paying people to have vasectomies & tubal ligations. (tongue in cheek folks) But, then the government would really miss the revenue from one of the biggest money making segments of it's economy.

Oh and the people who watch Fox News, are less informed than those who watch no news at all. Public Mind Survey from Fairleigh D i c kenson University.

Every carpenter must be a mass murderer. There's hardly a thing on his belt that can't be used to kill somebody (OK, the tape measure might be kinda tough).
you are wicked

And of course, the murder rate in Canada skyrocketed in 2012, the first full year after the elimination of the long gun registry.....the streets of our largest cities were choked with the bodies of the dead and dying, as Wendy Cukier predicted....

Oh.

Just kidding.

Police reported 505 homicides in 2013, down 38 from 2012. The homicide rate was 1.44 victims per 100,000 population, the lowest rate since 1966. Police also reported 642 attempted murders in 2013, down 23 from the previous year.

We had VERY little gun control in 1966.

We had VERY little gun control in 1966.
Funny though that was about the time we started bringing in more immigrants from many 3 world countries .

I think the rise in murder rates that started in the late sixties and peaked in 1975 was the result of the baby boomers growing up.

Lots of young men means lots of violence.

That simple.

The decline in rates recently has to do with age demographics as well.

Fewer young men means less violence.

If it were immigration, then rates would steadily be getting worse, as immigration rates are now much higher than in the 60s.

My point is that idiotic, overly restrictive gun laws have had absolutely NO effect.

Agreed. There is more correlation between babyboomers than gun control laws.

There is also additional trending that supports divorce laws and abortion laws in the 70s improving the degree of murders related to domestic violence.

Unfortunately, here in Canada the irrational gov't seizure of legally purchased firearms is not paranoia.....it happens all the time.

And of course you know why that makes news??? It used to be rarer than hens teeth!! Killings by nutbars because of loose gun laws used to be off the wall. . A psychiatrist killing a patient with a gun he feels obliged to carry because of such loose laws are not exactly what a physician signs up for!! "The oath reads, "first do no harm". What is the world coming to when even doctors need to carry guns!!
