I love that Sid was able to return and make such an impact. A couple things...
- living 25 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, I can tell you Crosby's concussions got a fair bit of attention but it did not come close to the attention of Congresswoman Gifford's condition (rightfully so).
- don't kid yourself into thinking a 4 pt night against the Isles is nothing. They may be in a bit of a funk right now but there is a lot of young talent in that organization... and they are still professionals: they don't just lay down for anyone.
- Matt Cooke has been playing on Crosby's team the last couple years, so its not HIS elbows Crosby has to worry about
- Don Cherry, for all his controversial comments, does not advocate dirty play. He IS almost religious about admonishing kids who may be watching and minor hockey coaches to keep their heads up. Tough, physical play does not mean dirty. Yes, our definitions are changing, and some have been slower to accept that than others but criticizing Cherry over the league, when the NHL has only started addressing head shots in the last couple seasons is ridiculous.
