To that one man he saved perhaps. But, saving that man didn't change the effect of the many, many, horrid things he did. It didn't change his molesting me, it didn't change the broken bones my grandma suffered, it didn't change the emotional abuse and scars left on his kids, his grandkids, and other family who had to deal with being in his sphere of influence.

So will the 'lamestream media' avoid painting Zimmerman in the hero light? Yeah, they just very well might in the proximity of his shooting someone.
a very strong and truthful statement, reality...something many try to avoid... you have an excellent perspective....good comparison!! ♦

Like I said, he's probably a nice guy, but after the schmozzle over the past year or so, he's likely going out of his way to prove that to everyone. IMO, he wants desperately to be some sort of hero.
Naturally, there'll be the pro-Zimmerman people raving about his sainthood and others that will be ranting about conspiracies, the news media making wheelbarrows full of money by sensationalizing every little aspect of the dude's life, etc.
exactly....and then there will just be those with a balanced outlook that do not include the above two groups

Zimmerman is a paragon of community spirit.
lmao...

You just can't forgive. Maybe MR Zimmerman will devote the rest of his days to good deeds.
if he has a conscience he will...personally I don't know if the equation ever equalizes after wiping out the life of another

George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue someone who was trapped in an overturned truck, police said today.

Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe told ABC News that Zimmerman “pulled an individual from a truck that had rolled over” at the intersection of a Florida highway last week. Florida Highway Patrol is now handling the case, McAuliffe said.

The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route 417, police said.

It’s the first known sighting of Zimmerman since he left the courtroom following his acquittal last week on murder charges for the death of Martin. Zimmerman, 29, shot and killed Martin, 17, in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012. The jury determined that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense.

Not surprising at all, most everyone has done a good deed or two in their lives. I suppose it would be hard to believe for those who are convinced that Zimmerman is an evil S.O.B. but I doubt if the majority of us are much fazed by it.

I get a kick out of all the vigilantes who think Zimmerman is a vigilante! -:)

The media sickens me, it really does. Not so much for reporting on his involvement as I suppose in a world in which people become famous on "reality" television, he passes for a 'celebrity'. I mean, that's all rather crass, but it's a whole other issue altogether.

No what bothered me when I read this the other day on a news website was the line, which seems to be absent from ABC's write up in the OP, of "there is no report on the race of the individuals in the overturned car". I mean, really? Was there call for that? It just turned me off.

Actually what it reminded me of is when people twist words and troll on here. That's what the "news" has become, bait and troll.

The family's identity and race were not immediately known.

I had expected that to be edited out by now, but there it is.

This is a singular incident in which a person did what many people would do, although some might not, so good for him for doing it on that day. It has absolutely no bearing on anything else no matter how much people seem to want to make it matter.
