That wasn't one of the rumors...

Feisal Abdul Rauf, the Imam backing the proposed Islamic cultural center and mosque, is a
terrorist
sympathizer who refuses to condemn Islamic attacks on civilians.

Wow. "supports terrorism" is too much of a deviation from "terrorist-sympathizer"? Split hairs much? :)

You've never been to a Harry Potter book release have you?

This cracked me up. Is Harry Potter print media?

I love books... but the Nook thing is making me wonder if that will be the way all books will go.

Yes, I never claimed Fox was the only place one would find misinformation, in fact I didn't intend for this thread to go in this direction. I was more interested in the steady erosion and breakdown of independent news media. Again, don't take that as a claim that Fox is the sole guilty party...they just do it better than the rest in my opinion.

That's cool. I think CNN may be sort of in the middle? I'm not really sure. I think all TV news media tends to lean a bit left except FOX. Then on the other hand... Talk Radio is definately right leaning. Liberal shows on radio do not do so well.

Yeah, that's rumour #1, he doesn't support terrorism, he condemns it...

Split hairs much?

The distinction is the same as income tax going up due to policies or a new job...the distinction actually matters.

Pretty much. The demographics of radio listeners favour conservative views...as liberals tend to be younger, and watch programs on the internet like Young Turks.

Yup. He also supports it. Which is the point, it's not an answerable question, the individual has to make a judgement as to what the truth is. Not a good basis upon which to measure "informedness". :)

That's a bit of a stretch, but that's OK, I think we've flogged this horse for all it's worth. :)

The Left, in their hopeless struggle to combat the highly successful radio talk shows, dominated by those of right wing persuation, came up with the idea of Air America. Which was not just three hours, like Rush Limbaugh, or two like many others, but a 24/7 barrage of hate, venom, vindictiveness, lies, typical liberal dishonesty and ignorance.

Well, Air America failed. Not just failed, but failed in an historically unprecedented fashion.

Who the Hell would want to listen to pieces of garbage like Ed Shultz and Randi Rhodes?

I wouldn't chalk that one up as idealogical hatred, YukonJack, hackers do this sort of thing to both liberals, conservatives, corporations, celebrities etc etc. Everyone is fair game to them.

I'd like to think so, DurkaDurka, but until I see headlines about hackers hacking into the accounts of CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, New York Slimes, Atlanta Constipation Urinal, Washington Compost, etc., I will hold on about agreeing with you.

I imagine it will happen at some point or another, YukonJack. I do recall CNN being the victim of a DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack back in the mid 2000's, but it's an entirely different thing than what happened to Fox.

It's funny that this sort of thing is still reported as news. In reporting on the Twitter hacker, BBC already beat the OP to the punch.

It is unclear why Fox News has been attacked in this instance. However, the broadcaster's conservative stance has made it unpopular with many Americans.

Note how it doesn't say "perceived conservative stance" or something to that effect. It's already well established to the critically literate that Fox News has conservative bias.

It is already well established to the critically literate that all other news sources have a rabidly liberal bias.

At one time, CBS was the absolute class of all news organizations on television. They would not allow any bias at all in their content, and any opinions were clearly mentioned as being opinions. Walter Chronkite would not allow any other procedures.

Is anyone buying that crap you're selling?

Chronkite was the foremost anti-Vietnam war media personality. Don't make us laugh with that anti bias foolishness.
