There is also a documentary on McDonald's called Super Size Me, in which a filmaker eats only McDonald's food for a month and it shows the implications of eating it every day and the health risks it could bring about. It showed what could happen to the human body if the wrongs foods are consumed. I think the documentary could be found on youtube or netflix.

Where does Bayer or Cargill rank or you don't know who they are because they weren't on the YouTube propaganda.

Yes I know who they are, and I think the meat companies need to diversify. Should not have mega corporations having monopolies on food sources.

I used to haul beef from Cargill to California, Minnesota, Nebraska and haul pork from Cargill back to Canada. So yes, I'm aware of who these companies are.

BTW, I get my meat from the local butcher in Crossfield, Alberta (BigWay).. not processed crap.

It's bullsh-t.

I watched it on T.V. a year or so ago, it's a situation taken to the extreme. ANY food eaten to that excess will likely kill you eventually. The worst aspect was probably all the pop. Having a hamburger at McDonalds once a month probably won't do you much harm.

Even Spurlock admits it was bullsh-t but I'm say food inc is bullsh-t.

Which if you understood the documentary, to buy good nutrient rich food at the grocery stores his now very expensive, but the government subsidize corn, wheat, beef make it cheaper to just buy a $1 meal at McDee's.

So poor families who can't afford good nutritional food, opt out for fast food and super size the meals..

.They sell the value menu burgers at a loss but make it up on the soda which costs them pennies for a supersized Coke.

It was a laughing stock of a pile of ****. Read the god damn reviews.
The fact is, the host wouldn't have had such a deterioration of health had he cut out the unnecessary large sodas every time he went to order. He went out of his way to eat unhealthy as possible.

Why? Have you ever been on a farm?
I was raised on a farm [11 - 18] and farmed in BC. You may take me for an idiot but I assure you, the feeling is mutual.

And I see you refuse to answer the question with your usual diversion tactics.

I do because nothing is the same since you left the acreage you thought was a farm.

It was a stupid question.

There's good points and bad points to the film. Some mixed systems would work better than others. Depends on lots of things, like local markets. When it was looking like I might end up in Newfoundland, I started thinking about what I could do if I moved there. Ended up deciding on small business, an aquaponics business. The types of crops I could grow in the greenhouse essentially left me with something in a value chain at each step, from fish and produce, down to mushrooms and fertilizers for garden centers. In that case it would have worked really well, there is not much of a growing season in Newfoundland. Fresh produce without the cost of shipping long distances? The economics are nice, and as a plus, I have all the technical know-how from school. Even started building the business plan. But circumstances changed...I still think about it from time to time.

For other systems, like cows? It's really inefficient comparably, and that's OK so long as everyone in your area is willing to pay a lot more for food. It's a niche market, there's a very good reason that it's a niche and not mainstream.
