No where in any document does it say that one person is equal to another except in the eyes of the body that governs the nation. We are free to judge each other and express those judgments openly. You have a right to pursue happiness but nowhere does it say you have a right to be happy. If being treated poorly by people who have free opinions sucks, then get out of you pajamas, put some jeans on and try getting on the plane again.
Does it need to be documented before one can make the simple assertion that different does not mean less?

If the pilot's ass wasn't covered by law several times over, I'd be all over this too.
I'm not suggesting that you wouldn't.

But aside from conceding and adhereing to law and order in society, another responsiblity in society, in my opinion, is to hold each others actions up to basic standards of ethics and morals. Now not all of us hold the same ethics and morals, granted, but when something occurs that is contrary to my own standards I think it's important to speak up about it, even if it's only on this forum.

I think the decision he made was morally and ethically wrong, it flies in the face of what I believe is fundamental to freedom and equality. It doesn't really matter to me whether it specifically states in the Charter or a US Amendment that manner of dress is or is not included.
And it smells to me like racism hiding behind legal authority, so I'm judging him on his actions. Which is more consideration than he gave the two individuals who were passengers on his plane.

Try the TSA. You'll have much much better luck.
They're the branch that enforce the law.

I'm still waiting to see some laws, regs that would make the Pilots ass covered.

I'm not saying they don't exist. But you made the claim, so you must know something about it.

I don't like it either, Profiing and right smashing personal opinion is something we all have to suck up. We're at war you know.

That's where I disagree.

One does not set aside their standards when they are at war. If anything, you hold it closer because times of conflict will have the tendency to bring out the worse in people, so we should be prepared to bring out the best as well, at a moments notice.

We are all equally being ****ed over by those who are supposed to put our best interests first. That's fair isn't it? Perhaps this pilot is like myself and is tired of handling everyone else with kid gloves while his, mine and YOUR rights are being ****ed over. Maybe just maybe he only gives a **** about himself and feels beaten down and doesn't care anymore? I can understand that easy enough.

I remember when you could show up at the airport with your laptop half hour before your plane would depart, and you never had any problems getting on.

Now, everytime when I have to line up in the long security lines and take off my shoes etc etc, I am always remined of the group of people with a sick idology that has changed this for me and others in our country.

I am just a person who wants to live in peace and do my job. But they don't like me doing this now!!

Personally, I have not been ****ed over or had any of my rights ****ed over. I'd like to hear how that's different from you. That is, IF you can back up your claims.

I gave you a thumbs up for a raw display of your opinion, I liked that. But I too would like to hear what rights of yours have been screwed over.
If Sheik Salami in Pjammas' rights are being ****ed over then so are mine. Equality Bear. Equality.

We can't blame the pilot for what we've brought onto ourselves.

So, in other words you have no specifics, it's just so much rhetoric on your part.

If I see that my rights are being infringed upon, then I will stand up and say something about it. If I see that your rights are being infringed upon, then I will stand up and say something about it. Because that is the right thing to do.

No one has ever bettered themselves by putting someone else down.

If we don't care enough about each other enough to support each other, then what do we have left?

I can be cynical, I can be skeptical and at times tremendously sarcastic, but I still care about right and wrong. If I didn't there would be nothing of me left. At that point I'd be the loser.

Does Sheik Salami in Pjammas have different rights than you, me or the pilot? Then how was he violated if we are all susceptable to the same treatment?
