Sorry, faith has nothing to do with it. Well, your doubts are misplaced. I don't even watch The Nature Of Things and I haven't watched Gore's movie. I have a decided lack of interest in them. lolTrue, but you can dirty up your own neck of the woods, not the space I'm occupying.

We are both occupying the same physical space, since space has no limit and no picket fences. That being true you are to suffer my presence in "your space" as your delusion requires and as the conditions of our shared occupation slowly dawn on you, as we hope and pray it does, you will learn that the dirt you perceive is the dirt you know.

There are only a few sources for climactic data.

I suppose there are, as for climatic data, there are thousands of sources. Airlines send out atmospheric data in flight constantly, along with ground based stations sending weather baloons and collecting surface readings, this data is compiled, studied, used for forecasting and archived for use in statistics. Cherry picking data to suit a purpose and hiding what doesn't is what is causing this flap. And accurate historical data doesn't go back far enough to recognize what normal trends are.

But when people become sceptics just because they are too lazy or indifferent to change their habits, it's ridiculous.

It has less to do with being too lazy to change habits and more to do with resisting the transfer of wealth by government decree, (especially by foreign governments). If, in fact humans were the main cause of climate change we will end up living in mud huts heating with dirt to effect change, yeah, that's not a habit most of us want to get into.

As for misusing data to achieve an end, Britain and Europe are, or are going to heavily tax air travel, more heavily than any other mode of transportation, because of its impact on CO2 pollution. Yet air travel worldwide contributes 3%, yes that is Three per cent, of all "greenhouse gasses" emitted into the atmosphere. This directly hits my bottom line, sure the customer pays, but so do all the operators, employees, and businesses connected to the industry. This is an "in your face" cash grab that will have no effect on pollution and just enrich the money grabbers. Living will get quite a bit more expensive and we may well be relegated to freezing in mud huts, but by order of the power brokers. So yes, I'm skeptical.

The story isn't over with CO2; the most effective greenhouse gas is water vapour. It is present in the atmosphere in quantities thousands of times higher than CO2 and burning hydrocarbons produces lots of it. That'll be the next target. By the way, the most destructive substance in the atmosphere is oxygen. These are natually occuring gasses and are necessary for life, and they will be here in varying degrees of concentration long after we're gone, just as they were before we arrived.

The data says what the data says. Earth is warming. Show me data that shows otherwise.

I'd like to see the data that shows that it is, the untarnished data. We're not going to see it, and even if we did we couldn't come to any more of an accurate conclusion than all the scientists have so far, but enough doubt has been cast on the current zeitgeist that I think skepticism is warranted.

It depends upon whether the exaggeration was known or not. CRU is not the only source for climate data and the data from those other sources pretty much supports the data from the CRU, so it looks to me like the denier hackers have disinformed the public about what is actually in the emails and taken a few comments out of context. There's not much newsworthy here except the big flap itself.
somewhere on this site I have posted links pointing out that the surface temp of mars has risen .5 of a degree C since '95, kinda makes ya wonder what the hell the yanks(nasa) have "rover" running on, since they are the only ones that have been there to cause it to rise....oh and they also say that jupiter has a second large red spot indicating another huge storm, possibly caused by the planet warming....just a coincidence, nothing to worry about... and if my memory serves me correctly they also said the despite pluto being the furtherest from the sun in its eliptic, or whatever its called, it appears to be warmer than normal as well... what would you think would be a common facter in the earth/mars/jupiter and pluto heating up...a cows fart, my old 79 ford truck or the latest piece of crap from toyota or chev? here's a clue, its big and yella and nice and warm! do you have any idea how much energy it takes to produce a prius or a chev volt compared to an old ford truck for instance? do you have any idea of the energy it takes to return one of them to dust at the end of their life compared to an old ford truck?
its just a game.....but its a game for money, and were are looked upon as the source of that money.....if tptb were serious about saving the enviroment, we wouldnt be allowd to cut down one more tree, we'd be made to plant them everywhere we could....afterall, they are the earths filters......

Pluto is undergoing global warming, researchers find

Because Pluto has been receding from the sun for more than a decade, planetary scientists presumed that its temperature had dropped and its nitrogen atmosphere had shrunk. But between 1988 and 2002, Pluto's atmosphere nearly doubled in size and its temperature increased by about 1 Celsius,
