Black Panthers Indicted On Federal Gun Charges, Pipe Bomb Plot Near Ferguson

Members of the militant New Black Panther Party have been arrested and charged with making straw purchases of two handguns and are believed to have conspired to detonate pipe bombs during protests in Ferguson, Missouri, according to several reports.

Brandon Baldwin, who goes by the name Brandon Muhammad, and Olajuwon Davis, who goes by Olajuwon Ali, were indicted on Wednesday for making false statements in order to purchase two .45 ACP pistols at a Cabela’s in Hazelwood, just outside of Ferguson, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Ali is the chairman of the St. Louis chapter of the New Black Panther Party.

strange that the source for that news item is reported to have spoken on condition of anonymity

Missouri state law allows just about anyone to buy guns (been there a couple of times and have friends there who are avid outdoors men) and the straw man argument seems to have little basis, especially since the NBP are noted for openly carrying rifles and guns. Why the hell do they want or need pipe bombs when they are already armed? Something about this news that sounds kinda fishy to me.

After the arrest, one of the leaders of the New Black Panther Party, Chawn Kweli, posted a message on his blog blaming the operation on Counter Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO).

“The wicked enemies of black people use lies and deceit to confuse the masses and misdirect the legitimate aspirations of the black power movement,” Kweli wrote. “As seen, in St. Louis, Mo, with the arrest of Chairman Olajawon Ali, and other activist ahead of the decision on whether to indict Officer Darren Wilson for killing Mike Brown – or not!”

As one commentator writes, This whole thing is stupid. Either the feds found the two dumbest people they could find and set them up, or they made the whole thing up and are just smearing two people, because they can.

Grand jury reaches decision in Ferguson case; announcement tonight

FERGUSON, Mo. -- A grand jury has reached a decision about whether to indict a Ferguson police officer in the shooting death of Michael Brown, a lawyer for Brown's family said Monday.
The panel has been considering charges against Darren Wilson, the white suburban St. Louis officer who fatally shot the black 18-year-old after a confrontation in August.
The St. Louis County prosecutor's office has told the family the decision will be announced after 5 p.m., attorney Benjamin Crump told The Associated Press.

The citizens of Ferguson, Missouri, deserve better than Al Sharpton. A world-class scumbag with criminally under-acknowledged ties to the Mafia, the FBI, Rudy Giuliani, Nixon administration shysters, corrupt business tycoons, and endless other seedy characters, Sharpton had the gall this week to castigate Ferguson residents for allegedly expressing too much anger at the police over the killing of 18-year-old Mike Brown. That Sharpton is being held up as some kind of moral exemplar, authorized to lecture people on proper behavior, is truly a sick joke. In a sense, though, you have to admire the guy’s brazenness: Few street preachers end up advising the president.

Bombshell: Major witness fingered Mike Brown’s stepfather as the source of fake claims

Witness #14 testified that Louis Head, stepfather to Mike Brown was source of “embellished” versions of the Mike Brown shooting. Head is also the man who is on video urging Mike Brown supporters to set fires in Ferguson last Monday night. 26 structures were set on fire, including a black church.

Witness #14 was sympathetic to Mike Brown, and had met Brown in the past. National Public Radio is calling witness #14 one of the most import witnesses. NPR stated today that witness 14 “offers some of the most compelling testimony.”

Witness #14 identifies Louis Head as the source of the false claim that Mike Brown was shot in the back. He also identifies Louis Head as the source of the fake claim that Mike Brown had his hands in the air.

We know know that over a dozen people committed perjury during the Grand Jury process. Louis Head was most likely one of them. Under Missouri law, committing perjury for the purpose of securing a murder conviction is a class A felony.

Even if Head did not encourage, or at worst threaten, others into repeating phony claims, he committed a class A felony if he testified to these fake claims himself.

Actual transcript. Witness 14 in red.
Alright, let-let?s back up a little bit then um, when you come down and there are people saying things that-that you didn?t quickly after those last shots were fired was that happening I mean where people were actually saying things like that?
After he hit that ground I would say it took at least about a minute.

Okay and that?s when the crowd starts to gather. You said it was like an instant.
In a minute-in a minute maybe 20 or 30 about two minutes then three minutes it leads to be about 70 or 80 big group.
Alright. And just the crowd growing but people talking about saying things that didn?t happen. Right, right especially they started embellishing it when the stepfather showed up. When I?m sorry? The stepfather.
Okay. Oh, the stepfather. ... And when you said they started embellishing what did you hear?
Oh um, the officer ran up behind him shot him in the back.

And that?s not true?
Not true.
What else?
Um, he ah, he had his hands straight up in the air, not true.
Um, then ah um, some guy I don?t know who in the heck he was we never seen him before was um, I don?t know where he came from he came out of the blue um, he was coming out saying, ah, that the Mike had reached in and got the officer?s gun out of his hand, not true you know.

You had mentioned on August 12th that um, after that it was everyone started coming from the back saying oh my God he had his hands up in the air telling him don?t shoot-don?t shoot-don?t shoot and you said he never uttered a word.
No.

Right, referring to Michael Brown?
Right, that I could hear.
And then you
That could hear I couldn?t hear.

Right an then you went on and you said that?s when everyone come back and all of them started saying things like oh, he was on his knees.
Yeah, that?s another thing.

And when he shot him, he shot him on his knees.
Right.

And then they came by and they said oh, he was laying down and the officer shot him in the head.
No, that was false.
None of those things happened?
None of those things happened, none of those things.

you mean all this 'hand's up' nonsense is bullsh!t? say it isn't so.

“Professor” who assisted in Mike Brown autopsy revealed as “fraud, con artist”

Just when you thought the investigation into Ferguson cop Darren Wilson's shooting of an unarmed black teen couldn't get any more ****ed up, it gets even more ****ed up.
Shawn Parcells became an instant media star in August after assisting in a private autopsy commissioned by the family of slain teen Michael Brown. Parcells showed up constantly on TV news as a forensic pathology expert, and claimed to have testified in court dozens of times in several states over the years. He also claims to be a professor. "But an investigation by CNN that included interviews with attorneys, law enforcement and physicians suggests Parcells isn't the expert he seems to be."
Actually, the investigation makes him out to be a “con artist,” “manipulator,” and “fraud,” according to pathology experts interviewed for the piece.
Earlier this year, Parcells' LinkedIn page said he expected to start medical school at the International University of the Health Sciences in the Caribbean starting in September 2014. Later, the date was changed to 2015.
When CNN visited Parcells in his Overland Park, Kansas, home, he presented a photo of himself onstage at what appears to be a graduation ceremony at the New York Chiropractic College.
"I got a master's degree in anatomy and physiology, with clinical correlation," he said.
Asked where his diploma was, he replied that it was on the way. "It's coming," he said. "They mail it to you."
But wait, wait, this part is the best:
Parcells doesn't claim to have any specific license or certification to do the work he does. He knows how to do autopsies from "on-the-job training," watching pathologists and assisting them at various morgues, he said. Sometimes he's been paid for this work and sometimes he wasn't, he added.
"To take out organs and to cut open a body, you don't need to be a pathologist," he said. "Come to an autopsy. I think when you see what I do, you'll realize that I'm not just making this stuff up out of blue, thin air."
Below, the CNN investigation video. Don't miss the much earlier skepticism shared by Pathology Blawg, way back in August.
