I'll bet it comes out as a justified shooting and that in the face of the evidence reasoned people will accept it as that.

I bet it comes out that way to. Otherwise the armor wouldn't be necessary.

We haven't even gotten to trial. There will be protests if the grand jury refuses to hand up an indictment, though, and the cops will no doubt to everything they can to turn them into riots.

That does seem to be the mission.

I bet most of the maimed and killed will be from Chicago.

That toddlin' town and what not.

I guess it's friday then, I expect there'll be little TV coverage, or maybe there will be, who knows. The old USA sure is changing fast, I've been expecting it for years, but I'm not as happy as I thought I would be.

"Whenever the legislators endeavor to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience..." -- John Locke 1690 2nd Treatise on Government Chapter 19 paragraph 222

Each passing day shows more of the true colours (no pun intended) of the majority of the protestors/activists.

Michael Brown's death was the spark on a far larger issue. I think that much of this has to do with the frustrations within that community related to the economic crash in addition to the pre-existing tensions related to race, economic disparities, etc.

Brown is a physical manifestation of these frustrations

You're probably right. The ironic thing is that Brown's case isn't really worthy of all this, as the shooting was justified and he was not an innocent person in all this.

It's sheer speculation on my part... It's just that the actions of the mob are so incongruent

Neither of us have the cold, objective facts on this, but I have to agree... There is so much info that points away from anything to do with racially motivated violence.

Brown was no choir-boy and it becomes more and more suspicious as the mob bends over backwards to sanitize his character.. Like you suggest, his case isn't worth this level of intensity

Unfortunately, logic and facts won't amount to much of anything once this is all said and done.

Very true. As you pointed out, the 'true colors' are becoming more apparent as each new event comes to light.

I'll bet that the locals have resigned themselves to there being riots, looting, etc whatever the result of the Grand Jury... The folks in that community have whipped themselves into such a frenzy that violence will be the only way to purge themselves of the underlying motivating factors.

I understand that many business' have already boarded-up the windows and doors in expectation of the blood-lust that will most likely ensue.

When all the dust settles, the community will have self-destructed. It will take years to get back what it has lost

The protesters are already organizing and are asking the police look the other way on the occasional tossed projectile.

I hope those tossed projectiles find their way back onto the noggins of the idiots that threw them in the first place.

How long did it take for LA to recover from the Rodney King incident? I'm honestly asking, as I don't know myself.

Better not be a police officer that helps the projectile find its way back... No doubt it will trigger an even more severe response from the mob

I can't answer that question, but I honestly wonder if they have fully recovered

I think the police will be damned no matter what they end up doing, rightly or wrongly.
