The only industry left in BC is building houses for rich retirees from elsewhere. Clearcut the carbon sinks and pave them.

Not to mention the introduction of Tier three engines.
All the carbon tax scam did is make it more expensive for people in rural areas.

BC has been the best performing province in the country in the last 4 years - mostly because of their carbon tax.

No it has done a fine job of stretching the budgets of school districts and health regions .

He has no clue. BC has been surviving off of the ActionPlan projects, foreign housing investments and immigration.

BC's GDP growth has been the highest in the country and the carbon tax didn't compromise that one bit.

Thanks to $1.10 CDN and ActionPlan at the time the carbon tax came in.

Now BC is borrowing money on LNG they haven't sold yet to fund Provincial requirements of ActionPlan and P3 projects galore.

Come check it out. You can stay in my shed....if you can afford the rent.

Actually, the drop in oil prices caused every economic jurisdiction in the country to suffer - except BC (and partly Ontario due to reverse Dutch Disease).

That is despite of the carbon tax scam not because of it.

Dutch disease is a myth. Ontario simply priced themselves out of the market and will continue to decline as long as their taxes and electricity are the highest on the globe.

It's just an editorial from a conservative leaning paper lol

John Ivison: Trudeau outsmarts opponents on carbon pricing

Douglas Russell, an energy consultant and former climate change negotiator for the Canadian government, called the plan a “delicately crafted piece of work” that establishes a precedent for carbon pricing and recognizes the work already done by some provinces.

The genius from Ottawa’s point of view is that the price is so low that many of the provinces will decide to climb on board, once they have had a good moan and tried to wheedle whatever concession is top of their respective wish lists.

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley issued a statement saying her province supports the concept of national carbon pricing, but won’t back the plan without progress on pipelines. She will surely be looking for federal approval for Kinder Morgan’s Trans Mountain pipeline, on which cabinet will decide by year’s end.

In the House of Commons, the surprise announcement of a carbon floor price went as well as could be expected for the government.

The imported oil that is sold to under employed maritimers will have a higher carbon price attached to it merely to account for the pollution caused by the tanker. The maritimers should be buying canadian, but the necessary infrastructure has been blocked repeatedly.

When will the Canadian government wake the hell up and recognize that this country needs a transcanada utility corridor? a highway and railway was insightful in its day, but it just doesn't cut it anymore.

Explain so I can at least have the satisfaction of showing you why you're wrong.
