Any new government implemented beurocracy, no matter how small, will always turn into an albatros, particularly when mandated by a Liberal government with a self-absorbed drama teacher at the helm. The term "revenue neutral" is a farce and does not exist in ANY goverment program.

Keep in mind some of the promises were Chretien inspired and Martin implemented, carried on and expanded by Harper and are at obligation level at this point for Trudeau.

So far he hasn't skipped a beat on the Asia Pacific Gateway

In fact, he's made it clear that the provinces must choose a carbon tax or cap and trade.

Trudeau's 'two sizes fits all' doesn't work. Noval Scotia has been investing heavily in its own solution. If you force one of trudeau's schemes on them, they will be hit twice as hard as there fellow citizens in othe provinces. Surely, everyone here -except mentalfloss - can agree that this is not fair for nova scotians.

There provinces can use the revenue however they see fit.

Not a penny will touch federal coffers.


So even if NS disagreed, they have the power to give every red cent right back to people.

The majority of the provinces already have a carbon pricing plan in place.

It's just Sad Wall and a couple of others who don't.

Wall realizes that the deck is stacked. He knows that if there was proper accounting for carbon to include recognition of crops, trees, etc. as carbon sinks, Saskatchewan would likely be owed credit. But that wouldn't fit into Lil potato's plan.

He likely also realizes that 20,000 years ago, most of this country was under more than 3 kms of ice, and that the climate has been changing (warming) dramatically since then. He likely has enough common sense to realize that putting some stupid arbitrary price on essential carbon dioxide will do nothing to stop the inevitable Milankovitch cycles of the planet.
