Oh you poor foolish thing- you just don't understand the issues here! Trudeau’s casual response to terrorism

(What our over privileged knucklehead P. M. is telling us is that he does not care if terror happens here and that we should simply “handle it” in the same way we handle blizzards and lost jobs, bankruptcy and children crushed under large trucks!)
According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada needs “investigative national security stuff” to keep us safe and to prevent Islamist terrorism like the recent attacks in Manchester and London.
(Too bad Our idiot Boy does not wish to recognize the failings of a security system controlled by craven coward politicians who will admit ANYBODY- just so long as they vote LIE-beral and who will refuse to deport dangerous risks- not even when they are CONVICTED of planning terror! Our idiot Boy Justin has RETURNED Cdn citizenship to convicted members of the Toronto 18 terror group and so far NO LIE-beral has dared answer my simple question: “what benefit comes to Canada from letting convicted terrorists stay here”? Its not a hard sounding question but no LIE-beral has supplied an answer on various forums! Nor will LIE-berals explain how cops supposed to keep us safe if their hands are tied until AFTER a terrorist has attacked? If you cannot deport or even detain a suspect and do not have the manpower to watch the clown 24/7 till he actually does something illegal then how do you guarantee good behaviour?)
(As we have seen all to often at European terror scenes, cop roll is limited to crowd control and making sure no other terrorists take pot shots at emergency crews collecting body parts and mopping up blood! Guarding the banr after the horse has exploded isn’t much good but I guess it comforts the citizens a little bit? And later cops get to try hunting down and catching the murderous swine who should not have been let into the country in the first place. Cops are expected to somehow REPAIR a situation that is irretrievably BROKEN BEFORE they get to it! And Our idiot Boy seems bewildered that we are not satisfied and do not feel safe simply because convicted terrorists will spend a few years in jail- at our current cost of about $150,000.00 per year- after being convicted of creating mass murder and mayhem?)
During his high-profile television appearance on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, Canada’s celebrity PM was asked about national security.
“Tough and tragic news over the weekend in London, in the wake of the attack in Manchester, what goes through your mind when you think of keeping Canada safe?” asked host Ryan Seacrest. It shouldn’t have been a tough question, and yet, Trudeau appeared to have trouble answering.
“There’s all sorts of different things we need to do,” said Trudeau, listing examples including “investing in safety, security, police officers and investigative national security stuff.” He said he hoped to create a society in which, “we’re resilient enough to handle bad things happening without falling into a bad space.”
His answer seems as cynical as it’s naïve. According to Trudeau, keeping Canada safe means making sure we can “handle bad things” without falling into a “bad space”.
(IN the wake of an attack by a white guy running over Muslims emerging from a Mosque- Brit prime minister Teresa May stated: “that we will not tolerate hate and religious extremism”! I say: “To late you silly cow”! Religious extremism is ALREADY deeply rooted in Britain! As for the white guy running over the Muslims- it is certainly murder- but its NOT terror! REVENGE and retaliation are NOT terror!)
(The recent Brexit vote is a sure sign that ordinary people do not feel govt has their best interests at heart. The attacks by white extremists on Muslims are another sign that the public and LIE-beral govt hold very different values! The LIE-beral fuss over Islamophobia is another sure sign that govt is working in directions that the public does NOT approve of. Most Cdns are on record as demanding more careful scrutiny of those who come here. Yet Our idiot Boy is making it ever easier for people to come here by watering down the security checks to virtually nothing! It’s a HUGE conflict of values that breeds hatred of LIE-berals and Muslims!)
Bad things, in this context, include teenage girls being blown up outside a pop concert in Manchester, a woman having her throat slit in a pub and tourists getting mowed down on London Bridge, all in the name of jihad. Trudeau seems to accept that more Islamist terrorist attacks will occur in Canada.
Like many misguided leaders in the West, his focus appears to be on preventing an unsavory backlash. Trudeau is certainly not alone in his blasé attitude towards combatting terrorism.
Several European politicians have made similar public statements.
(SOME European statesmen have a modest excuse for taking a LIE-beral approach to immigrants as some nations have a legacy of hate and war crime to live down. As for France, they are caught in a cleft stick of their own cutting- they were happy enough to annex Arab lands as colonies in the 19th century but now they are regretting having so many Muslims living amongst them! But how to get rid of people who have French citizenship and Muslim beliefs?)
French President Emmanuel Macron said during an April, 2017 radio interview that terrorism is an “imponderable problem” which will be “part of our daily lives for the years to come”.
This echoes the comments former French PM Manuel Valls made following the horrific Nice attack, when a Tunisian jihadist drove a truck through a crowd of families on a national holiday celebration, killing 87 and injuring over 400.
“Times have changed and we should learn to live with terrorism,” said Valls.
In September, 2016, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said the threat of terrorism is “part and parcel of living in a big city”.
(The French certainly must live with Muslim terror as their colonial history has set them up for it- with no way to back out. But Britain, with its Brexit choice, should be able to recover control of the situation by tightening immigration substantially- though there seems no more will amongst Brit leaders to cut back on Muslim immigrantion than there is with Cdn leaders . As for Canada, we have no Muslim colonial legacy and NO NEED to try to absorb a horde of Muslims who despise us even as they demand our charity and they look forward to the day when they have enough votes to MAKE US CHANGE!)
Perhaps this is true in the Middle East, where tribal wars are the norm and national security has never been realized.
But the West has achieved and long maintained peace, freedom and security. We shouldn’t simply shrug our shoulders and let it slip away.
(Cdns are kindly and charitable and want to help those less fortunate. But with so many desperate people in the world and all in need of aid, why then must we deal with the most angry, violence prone and difficult ones? There is no need to import Muslims when there are so many others in need of help who will also fit more smoothly and honestly into our society!)
Rather than standing up for our safety and security in the West, these politicians seem resigned to the fact their policies – of open-border immigration, hands-off integration and politically-correct law enforcement – will inevitably lead to some political violence.
(These wretched Cdn LIE-beral politicians see OPPORTUNITY in our deliberately screwed up immigration system- they see the chance to BUY votes from select groups so they can cling to power! Why bother trying to persuade cynical Cdns to support the disgraced and failed LIE-beral policies when it is so much easier just to bring in NEW voters with LIE-beral friendly values!)
Naïve politicians may have come to accept Islamist terrorism as a fact of life, but civilians in the West have not. We expect our political leaders to have a better response than telling us to simply accept terrorism as a part of life and be resilient after horrific attacks occur.
So far, the major assurance Trudeau has come up with is saying the problem can be solved with “national security stuff”.
At best, he appears disinterested in combatting terrorism and ignorant to the “stuff” of national security.
At worst, he doesn’t seem to care about the consequences of his reckless immigration and public safety policies – so long as he gets praised on American daytime television.

Welcome to the new world order where murderous retaliation begins to settle in as the norm.
All it needs now is a catchphrase. The Summer of the Counterattack Crazies, for example. Or the Summer of Tit-for-Tat Terrorism.
On Monday, Metropolitan London Police finally put a name to the previously-described "white man" who was the alleged perpetrator in what was ultimately called a "terror attack" by police when a van was used to murder "as many Muslims" as possible near a mosque and a Muslim community centre in North London.
One has been confirmed dead thus far, and at least 10 injured. Darren Osborne is the suspect's name. He is reportedly a 47-year-old, father-of-four from the Wales city of Cardiff.
For a time, everyone was doing the progressive tap dance, of course, and were nervously reluctant to call it what it was – terrorism. Never mind that Osborne reportedly shouted, “I want to kill all Muslims” during the attack.There was slowness to connect the dots that the alleged attack was an in-kind response to a recent and similar attack in London by a radicalized Muslim.
But we need to name terror for what it is.
When an Islamic extremist – whether brainwashed by jihadist propaganda or just plain delusional – goes out on a kill spree like the young man in Ottawa who shot Cpl. Nathan Cirillo as he stood guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in 2014, for example, liberals bent over backwards to call him a "lone wolf."
For liberals, this makes it sound more like a one-off, and therefore more foreign and distant, and ergo less frightening and less likely to happen again.
(In truth, LIE-berals would STILL be referring to people such as Osborne as `lone wolf`except that such revenge attackers have become useful to LIE-berals seeking to silence all their many critics by slapping a gag labeled ISLAMOPHOBIA over their mouths! LIE-berals are so desperate to buy ethnic votes that they are prepared to call us bigots regardless of real concerns! Just so long as the Islamophobia gag gets us to shut up and stop using logic and reason to rip LIE-beral policy to shreds! )
And they primarily blame society, of course, for creating such twisted ideologies that violence becomes second nature. The use of violence to resolve political or ideological grievances is terrorism, plain and simple.
(LIE-berals refuse to believe there are a whole lot of Cdns or Brits as well, who will, first suggest that Osborne is a kook, and then they will also say the kook was simply seeking revenge for all the Muslim attacks in London and Manchester and Paris and its hard to fault such reasoning! The general public is disgusted with the endless parade of broken bodies and bloodshed and lines of cops rushing to scenes of violence to close the barn door after the horse has run away! The general public regards Muslim radicals in the same light as Smallpox and Syphilis and they want Muslim access to the west CURTAILED and immigration standards RAISED!)
When Islamic "terrorist" Khalid Masood ran over and killed five pedestrians with a rented van on London's Westminster Bridge, and then knifed to death a policeman before being shot dead himself by the cops in March, everyone agreed that was terrorism.
With the perpetrator dead, it is much easier to apply the "terrorist" tag because the dead cannot be libeled. Such is the convenient truth.
But British Prime Minister Theresa May correctly observed the Osborne attack is "every bit as sickening" as other acts of violence planned or inspired by terror groups.
And then, of course, there is the madness of ISIS applauding Osborne's actions in North London because the Muslims he was allegedly targeting were not ISIS's kind of Muslims, meaning they weren't out-and-out jihadists.
(AS I have said before, Muslim hate is a massive and chaotic force and it is just as often directed at other Muslims as it is at the West. Radical Islam must regarded as a sort of mental disease and quarantined SWIFTLY before we are all infected!)
Pro-ISIS websites, meanwhile, had the loons calling for immediate revenge for Osborne's attack, and questioning police as to why he wasn't gunned down like the martyr Masood.
The insane asylum is getting crowded.
In the United States last week, when Republican-loathing and Bernie-Sanders-supporting Democrat James Hodgkinson opened fire on GOP congressmen practicing for a charity baseball game, progressives were quick to insinuate the divisive politics of U.S. President Donald Trump was responsible for inciting the shootings.
Liberals nodded their heads in agreement, and washed their hands like a collective of political Pontius Pilates as if the battle steeped in polarizing vitriol was somehow one-sided, and that their hot-tongued rhetoric did nothing to push Hodgkinson over the brink.
(Such hate as Hodgkinson displayed is something we will see with increasing frequency in future. Such hate is a sign of the baleful influence of LIE-beral policy. AS govt gathers up ever more power and all the money, it becomes ever more clearly the MAJOR social opponent to anybody frustrated with their life! The person who cannot get a job or cannot pay their bills will blame govt for not supplying what is needed from their vast holdings and deep pockets. For those who are deeply frustrated, it becomes all too easy to blame govt for prejudice and bigotry and to then decide to HATE as Hodgekinson does!)
Scapegoats, it would appear, are now hiding in the open, but words are still being cloaked to appease political correctness.
The world, as a result, is off its axis. The new norm, however, has arrived.
(And the central theme of the new norm is that GOVT is entitled to all the money and all the power and all the control but has NO need of any responsibility! After all, they have already taken ALL the money and now dole it out to us in little grants and gifts! Child support cheques, day care rates, hydro rebates, student loans, dirty back room deals with LIE-beral business friends, random deals on prescription drugs. If LIE-berals had not already taxed us so heavily and run up such huge crippling debts as they BUY their entitlements and place of power, most of us COULD get what we need without groveling to govt for a free lunch that is really anything but free! The list of little gifts LIE-berals offer up to appease us and prevent us from rising in rage and sweeping them out of office is endless! And for every gift they give us, they give themselves TWO as our already gross debts soar to new heights! And they meddle with our immigration system for their benefit and call it Islamophobia when we complain about their tactics! LIE-berals are far more interested in clinging to power than they are in resisting terror!)

The Trudeau government is planning to quietly introduce new measures to rubber-stamp the approval of many asylum seekers — including people from dangerous and war-torn countries who may pose a threat to Canada’s national security.
To deal with the unprecedented spike in landed asylum claims from aspiring refugees to Canada, Trudeau government officials are working on a plan to accelerate refugee applications by bypassing some of the important screening and vetting measures currently used by Canadian officials.
(IN truth those LIE-beral screening measures were pretty half- assed anyway as LIE-berals often rely on security reports from refugee camps in places like Lebanon and Turkey- camps that are often CONTROLLED by Muslim radicals such as terror group Hamas that often acts as a shadow govt in Lebanon! And of course there is NO way to seek out police and security reports form the Syrian war zone or Assad govt . With the added bonus that much of the documentation for citizens in Iraq and Pakistan has been lost or destroyed in years of fighting.)
According to two senior sources — both former high-ranking officials in the department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the new policy would fast-track and quickly accept asylum claims from countries with historically high acceptance rates into Canada by the Immigration Refugee Board (IRB).
(In other words LIE-berals are going to trust to luck that nobody LIES and claims to be what they are not! Immigrants will only have to say “ I am with that friendly group” and voila- the Cdn door will open!)
Examples of countries that could fall under this category include Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and Eritrea.
According to a notice quietly posted on the IRB website last month, the government is working to fast-track applications.
“As a result of rapidly increasing refugee claims, global instability and a backlog of new refugee claims, the IRB will be changing its approach for scheduling RPD (Refugee Protection Division) hearings beginning at the end of March 2017,” the notice says.
It goes on to state that, under the new forthcoming process, “certain claims identified by the RPD as straight forward will be scheduled for a short hearing.”
A former official familiar with this process told the Toronto Sun that in these circumstances, that process would mean that “certain claims may be approved without a hearing” and instead would be rubber-stamped based on a “paper-based only” application.
The IRB notice goes on to state: “Countries which have an acceptance rate at the RPD of approximately 80% or higher will be the first to be considered for inclusion in the new short hearing process.”
Unfortunately, countries with high acceptance rates for refugees, such as Pakistan and Syria, also tend to have significant numbers of claims rejected for national security reasons, including individuals affiliated with terrorist organizations and those wanted for war crimes.
(But LIE-berals brush THAT DETAIL aside! After all, quickly bringing in refugees who will vote LIE-beral in gratitude is more important than National Security!)
This fact is causing many government officials to worry about Canada’s national security.
Rather than slowly and carefully screening and vetting landed asylum claims — those arriving in Canada unannounced, without any prior background checks — the government is opting to rush through these important screening measures.
Another immigration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity due to his current connection with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, said he is “a bit uncomfortable with this,” noting that “some bad dudes come from these countries.”
REACTION SWIFT
Politicians quickly weighed in after the Sun posted Candice Malcolm’s story on reports that the Liberals are planning to rubber stamp potentially dangerous asylum seekers.
“Trudeau has no plan to deal with illegal border crossings in Manitoba, and now does this. Why bother with a border at all? Unacceptable,” Conservative MP Michelle Rempel posted to social media.
“Border security is no joke, except when Trudeau thinks it is. He doesn’t care about the security of Canadians,” Rempel, who is the official opposition critic for immigration, added.
Conservative leadership candidate Deepak Obhrai also jumped into the fray.
“Not the right solution!” the Alberta MP posted to social media. “We need to set up special refugee tribunals immediately.” Such tribunals are a part of Obhrai’s campaign platform.
Not everyone had the same response. British Columbia MP Jenny Kwan, the NDP critic for immigration, lambasted the story as “shameful fearmongering” and stated that all refugee claimants undergo security checks.
(Yes- we have already described the quality of those “security checks” and we are NOT reassured!)
However Kwan offered no evidence to refute the Sun story, which cites sources who say changes are forthcoming.

I first heard of the Nemni biography of Our Pet-and referred to by The Tyee reviewers as Pierre Trudeau`s Fascist Education in 2015 but my hostility to ALL Trudopes predates this by a LARGE margin!
I began to read old Lubor Zink columns in which Zink presented proof of Trudope communist sympathies-and spent THIRTY FIVE YEARS DARING TRUDOPE to sue for slander! Trudope shrugged it off-no point in going to court of the guy you want to sue is telling the truth! With Zink and his editor Peter Worthington sneering at Trudope!
The Trudope `national energy policy` was a disaster that prompted Alberta unemployment rates to DOUBLE in a matter of months. It appears to have been nothing but Trudope spite-as Alberta is HOSTILE to LIE-berals!
The Trudope creation of Petro Canada produced a gross money pit. Petro Canada never made a DIME in spite of being GIVEN access to Cdn oil fields for free while private oil companies had to pay royalties to govt-and still made a profit! Petro Canada was simply a LIE-beral creation designed to BUY civil service Hog votes by creating a huge new govt agency for them!
Trudope LIE-berals also gave us the Young Offenders Act and modifications to how adult criminals were handled. The Y O A unleashed a horde of young punks on Cdns-secure in the knowledge that the law would give only slight slaps on the wrist. And when Cdns complained of LIE-beral hug a thug tactics being used in adult criminal courts, LIE-berals responded with a committee to study the problem.
The chairman of the crime committee was Oshawa MP Ivan Grose and he told Cdns we were vindictive whiners and that longer jail sentences would have no effect on crime rates. Ivan might not have been laughed at so hard if it had not come out that he was an EX ARMED ROBBER HIMSELF!
Ivan eventually explained that he had suffered `personal troubles` that he figured he could solve by heading into his local bank-with pistol in hand-and making a `withdrawal` at gunpoint. It was apparently Ivan`s first MAJOR crime and he was nervous-waving the gun wildly and shouting and shoving the gun in tellers faces and scaring the shit out of people. He quickly got caught and served his time and got out-into a new career as an MP.
Ivan was VERY INDIGNANT about public reaction to his criminal career and told us it was all overblown as his gun had not been loaded-not that any of the traumatized bank employees knew this at the time or they would have laughed him out of the bank! So that is the face of Trudope/LIE-beral justice-getting an ARMED BANK ROBBER to mock our fear of soaring crime rates!
Trudope and LIE-berals never miss a chance to sneer at our intelligence-just look at the story of Trudope and the Nazi uniform. Lie-berals piously quote Our Pet and his pal in the `prank` Roger Romand and assure us that it was only a one time thing with first world war uniforms. They neglect to tell us WHERE the elderly Trudope parents who allegedly owned the uniforms would have got such uniforms or WHY. LIE-berals accept the word of Trudope-AFTER he had been caught in a nasty deed and who was worried about his political career and they present all other witnesses with different claims as LIARS! No doubt standard there-nor any insult to Cdn intelligence either-just what we would expect from LIE-berals!
The record on Trudope foreign affairs is another sour point. At the height of the Cold War with Soviet tank armies threatening to take over the world, Trudope wanted to disband the Cdn military.
Soviet forces out numbered NATO 3 to 1 in men, 5 to 1 in tanks, 7 to one in aircraft and about 10 to 1 in artillery-and Trudope wanted to tell us it was Yankees fueling the Cold War? Oh well, the Trudopes have NEVER LIKED what they see as Cdn, British and Yankee imperialism.
And the Trudope response to NATO complaints about Soviet agents operating in Canada? Trudope said we Cdns “have no secrets”! Certainly NOT with the likes of Trudope and his LIE-berals organizing things! Canada was part of NATO and as such had access to military plans-which Soviets wanted.
Soviets had carefully counted up what response NATO could make to a `smash and grab` raid-the idea being that Soviet tanks and paratroopers would suddenly advance into western Europe at furious pace for three days-Soviet front line numbers and firepower were so large that the available NATO forces would be swamped and that would let Soviets advance at HIGH SPEED for 3 days across most of Europe. After three days the Soviets would halt as the chance of a Yankee nuclear strike would climb quickly after that. Soviets expected Yankees to resign themselves to the loss of Europe and go home-the usual combination of deals-that Yankees are paper tiger and Europeans would rather be Red than Dead.. Two world wars have been enough for most Europeans! Trudope propaganda deliberately fed into Soviet plans and fueled the threat of nuclear war!
In the early 1960`s Canada and U.S. formed NORAD to defend North American air space from Soviet bombers. Naturally Soviets would want to know everything they could about the DEW LINE and other NORAD defenses. Information on various Yankee rocket and missile guidance systems were also desired. Information on coding equipment used by NORAD would also have been handy to Soviets. As well as troop strengths, general plans that would guide NORAD response to assorted threats and all manner of other information could be collected from CDN sources that Trudope DELIBERATELY REFUSED to guard!
There was also the issue of Chinese fighter jet engines-20-odd years back Chinese fighter jet engines could run for 500 hours without a major rebuild while Yankee jet fighter engines could run for 5000 hours before needing a major rebuild. And where better to STEAL Yankee jet fighter engine technology than from ever carefree Canada-which happened to own a clutch of Yankee designed fighters. How much might Red China have paid for Yankee jet engine technology stolen from poorly guarded jet engine depots in Winnipeg? Its why Yankee president Nixon called Trudope “an asshole”-because Trudope wanted to sell out to his Soviet pals!
When the Cuban embassy caught fire in Ottawa in the 1980`s, Cuban security people with machine guns FORCED Ottawa firemen AWAY from the blaze. Cubans chose to let the embassy burn to the ground rather than risk letting potential western spies into the building. Trudope claimed we have no secrets but the actions of Cuban spies in Ottawa prove the LIE.
And when embarrassing questions came to be asked about foreign spies in Canada, Trudope told us in parliament that the spies were no threat to us as they were only interested in using Canada as a base for spying on United States. Trudope never shrank from insulting our intelligence-or our allies!
We can speak also of the Trudope/LIE-beral creation of a massive new civil service being paid way beyond the sort of salaries and benefits available to ordinary Cdns. The series of major deficits and the growing debts that are crippling us are a Trudope/LIE-beral creation.
Trudopes also get credit for our new immigration system which allows all manner of unsuitable people to come here. We should speak of Marcia and Anthony Dooley-Marcia the WELFARE CHEAT and Anthony the previously CONVICTED COCAINE dealer-and they ended up beating son Randal Dooley to death here in Toronto. They cost us hundreds of thousands in immigration court costs and welfare-with thousands more to educate their 2 boys. Then they murdered Randal and cost us at least two or three million dollars in legal bills-PLUS the QUARTER MILLION DOLLARS PER YEAR for 25 years that it will cost to keep them in secure custody. And eventually we will have to pay to fly them back to Jamaica.
Or how about Rohan Ranger who came here at age 12 from an ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY and yet could neither read nor write in English and went on to be a drug dealer who murdered two girls-more millions for immigration lawyers, welfare, legal aid and jail costs.
Or Mohammed Shafia who came here with his TWO WIVES-in spite of poligamy being illegal here-and brought his son and two daughters as well. Sadly his neglected and no longer wanted first wife and his daughters decided that the life of a western woman was more appealing than that of a Moslem female and began living a new life style behind Mohammed`s back. Grossly foolish LIE-berals really ought to think more about the circumstances under which cops `interact` with the public-consider this:
The truth is that NO cop wants to shoot a suspect! What a cop WANTS is to spot a suspect on the street and to handcuff him and take him to the station for interrogation. If the suspect has a good alibi then its apologies all around and suspect is set free and cop goes looking for somebody else. If the suspect has NO alibi and can be properly connected to some crime then he is arrested and charged; with the cop getting a pat on the back from his boss- and maybe a promotion for his sharp eyes and diligent police work!
This is in SHARP contrast to the consequences of SHOOTING a suspect! For one thing a dead man cannot be charged with anything and cannot be questioned either- so with a shooting, there can be no resolution to an existing crime; and it generates a whole NEW mess to deal with. To shoot a suspect simply generates a huge legal mess- even when clearly justified its not a solution any cop wants. AND a cop shooting opens up the doors to all sorts of lunatics- like YOU- from idiot groups like Black Lives matter. To shoot a suspect is a sign of desperation from a cop who has been driven into a corner with no other options- the cop eliminates a lethal threat to save HIS life!
Its odd how LIE-berals will defend somebody killed by a cop regardless of circumstances- but will IGNORE the actions of armed robbers! Here is my synopsis of the available facts and testimony taken mainly from Pioneer Press as their coverage is deemed most open, comprehensive and even handed:
In an earlier post I said that a pair of cops working together is safer for both cops and the public and I also said that Yanez was alone when he shot Castile- based on a HEAVILY EDITED video shown to Cdns. Oh T-gurly- YOU LIED when you said Yanez had a partner!
Joseph Kauser was an officer in another cop cruiser some blocks away when Yanez radioed him and asked for backup. Yanez was convinced- based on appearance- that Castile might have been the armed robber who hit a gas station convenience store a few days previously so he was being cautious even before getting Castile to pull over. Kauser arrived AFTER Yanez began talking with Castile. The video YOU have posted shows Kauser arriving and getting to about ten feet from the passenger side door of the car when the shooting started. Kauser never set eyes on Castile before the shooting started!
Based on trial testimony we can discuss in a moment, its possible Castile never even saw Kauser arrive and a cop you do not see does not scare you much! So my statement that two cops are safer than one stands! IN fact, IF Castile WAS the armed felon that Yanez suspected him to be then TWO COPS might have daunted Castile into surrendering instead of fighting. All desperate felons know its easier to escape from one cop than from two!
But we will never know if Castile was a felon because reverse racist LIE-berals will not besmirch the name of a dead man! Castile cannot defend himself due to being dead and thus he is rendered forever innocent in the minds of LIE-berals! Those wretched LIE-berals are so sensitive that they will not even discuss whether Castile MIGHT have matched the description of the felon Yanez was seeking- even in some small way!
I know we are entitled to the presumption of innocence but that is for judge and jury! A cop DOES NOT work that way and it’s not something many people have noticed! A cop gathers information and makes HIS choice- and when he takes you in it is because he thinks you ARE Guilty! And the law allows the cops certain leeway regarding using FORCE to COMPEL you to come with him! You are expected to be aware of the consequences of not complying. And then the cop presents his beliefs and facts before a judge who makes the final choice. It is when you are in front of a judge and jury that the presumption of innocence DOES kick in as the judge is the impartial referee between prosecution and defense!
After Yanez fatally shot Philando Castile, he said he thought Castile would act recklessly because he smelled marijuana in his car.
Jeronimo Yanez told the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension in an interview the day after the shooting that he initially pulled Castile over as he thought he matched the description of a suspect in a gas-station robbery he had responded to a week prior to the shooting.
Yanez said he smelled the odor of "burnt" marijuana in Castile's car as he walked up to the driver's side window. He didn't tell Castile that he smelled the marijuana at first because he didn't want Castile to "react in a defensive manner."
Yanez told Castile that he had a busted taillight.
Yanez asked Castile for his driver’s license and proof of insurance at his driver’s-side window before Castile told him, “Sir, I have to tell you, I do have a firearm on me.” Castile had a permit to carry the gun but never disclosed that to the officer.
Yanez replied, “OK, don’t reach for it then,” prompting Castile to say, “I’m not reaching for it.”
According to Yanez’s squad car audio and video of the shooting, the officer then twice said, “Don’t pull it out.”
So a total of THREE TIMES, Yanez told Castile Not to reach for the gun yet he continued to move around and soon got shot because of his erratic behaviour.
Yanez’s defense team drew attention at trial to THC found in Castile’s system during his autopsy, suggesting it was proof Castile was high during the shooting and was therefore culpable for what happened.
Yanez said he was worried that Castile may be carrying a weapon for protection from drug dealers or others trying to "rip" or steal from him. "It appeared to me that he had no regard to what I was saying," Yanez said. "He didn’t care what I was saying. He still reached down."
Yanez, among several who took the stand, testified, sometimes through tears, that he had no choice but to shoot Castile after he said he saw Castile gripping his pistol in his front right shorts pocket despite the officer’s orders for him not to reach for the gun.
The state argued Castile was trying to access his wallet to hand over the driver’s license Yanez had requested when the officer “jumped to conclusions” and needlessly shot him. It made no sense-said the state- that Castile — who was wearing a seat belt while traveling home with his girlfriend and her small child from the grocery store — would choose to grab his gun and shoot the officer after being stopped for a broken taillight, prosecutors said.
But I suggest perhaps it DOES make sense to reach for a gun IF your are a desperate and stoned felon planning to flee from a cop?
State law allows police officers to use deadly force when faced with a threat to themselves or someone else. The officer’s conduct must be in line with what another reasonable officer would do under the same circumstances.
Had Castile only listened to Yanez’s commands, two experts hired for the defense testified in court, Castile would still be alive. But when he went for his gun, they said Yanez was forced to shoot.
WE all know that Yankees have the right to bear arms but what about the FOR- GOTTEN portion of the Constitution that lets us know the arms being borne are SUPPOSED to be in the hands of a “well disciplined militia”! Founding fathers never planned for armed stoners wandering the streets!
The state has not explained why Castile was carrying his gun while grocery shopping with his girlfriend Diamond Reynolds and her daughter. If in fact Yanez was right in believing Castile was an armed felon then there IS reason for Castile to be carrying the gun for protection and its also valid reason for Castile to be reaching for the gun in spite of being told to sit still THREE TIMES. The state has not explained why Castile was carrying a gun and is it also possible he was carrying it because he was going to buy more Weed and had the gun as assurance he would be dealt with fairly? Or had it for collecting a debt or some such thing?
Anna Garnaas-Halvorson is a teacher from J.J. Hill Montessori Magnet school and was the first witness called by the state. She worked at the school where Castile served as a supervisor of food services. She testified about Castile’s good character and strong reputation within the school community. That’s nice- he has friends at work but he is not the first man who may have had a second life unknown to his colleagues! So cafeteria food supervisor is Castile`s main job with the possibility that armed robber is a side line? But AGAIN, we will never know for sure! He is beyond questioning or prosecution now!
Yanez said he opened fire because Castile was gripping his gun despite orders not to reach for it. Reynolds disputed that. Castile’s wallet was later discovered by medical staff at Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was treated for his gunshot wounds. Hospital staff weren’t able to tell investigators which pocket his wallet was in. Reynolds testified Castile kept his pocket in his back left pocket. His driver’s license and permit to carry were inside his wallet. But testimony says Castile had already handed Yanez his insurance form before the shooting- and since the wallet was still in his pants pocket when he got to hospital then were was he reaching when he was shot? What pocket was the insurance form he produced stored in? Maybe in the same pocket as the gun?
Various cops and fire dept personnel testified that Castile`s GUN was in the right pocket- that right side from which Yanez says he saw something black emerging in Castile`s right hand. Yanez obviously DID see the gun in Castile`s pants pocket and was right to be concerned when Castile did not follow instructions!
During her cross-examination, Reynolds testified that she and Castile regularly smoked marijuana and that she had smoked it on the day of the shooting. She also said they had marijuana in the car when they got pulled over, but that it was under her seat. Authorities found it inside a closed plastic bag tucked inside a jar on top of her seat. The jar’s lid was off.
Cops found 6 grams of Weed in the car. AS Castile HAD THC in his system at the time of death and as Reynolds has admitted they smoked up often and that she had smoked up earlier that day it seems pretty fair to say Castile was STONED at the time of the shooting! The ONLY questions are HOW MUCH Castile smoked and WHEN! How stoned was he?
Juan Toran was the Roseville police officer who responded to the shooting that night. He was the third cop to get to the scene and arrived when Yanez still had his gun pointed inside Castile’s car.
It was when they turned Castile’s body to place him on a backboard that he (Toran) says he saw Castile’s black semi-automatic handgun sliding out of his right front pocket. Toran said he removed it the rest of the way and placed it on the pavement in a safe location. He guarded the firearm until the scene was taped off.
James Diehl is an instructor at Total Defense gun range in Ramsey, Minn., where Castile took his permit-to-carry class before acquiring his gun permit. He testified that it’s illegal to use marijuana and carry a firearm and also for an applicant to lie on a federal permit-to-carry application about use of illegal substances. The defense alleged at trial that Castile lied about his marijuana use when he applied for his permit and therefore he acquired it illegally. Telling a little fib about Weed use is hardly unique in our modern culture. The real point is that Castile WAS STONED at the time of his death and how much it impaired his judgement?
Diehl also testified that he instructs his students to first tell officers during traffic stops that they have a permit to carry before disclosing that they have the firearm. Relaying information in reverse order could “affect (an officer’s) mind-set,” Diehl testified during cross examination,
In other testimony, James Diehl said he teaches students that, when they’re pulled over by police, first to tell officers they have a permit to carry. Then they should say they have a firearm on them, Diehl said. He said he also tells them to follow all police commands while keeping their hands visible.
“Why is that?” Gray asked.
“Mentioning you have a firearm before you say you have a permit could affect the officer’s (mind-set),” Diehl said.
“And lead to chaos?” Gray asked.
“Correct,” Diehl replied.
So the expert with experience HAS tried to warn Castile about the sort of trouble he can get into while wandering in public with a gun! And Castile was sober enough to remember SOME of his training-he did tell Yanez he had a gun but did Not sit quietly and keep his hands in plain sight. Instead Castile IGNORED three commands NOT to reach for the gun and got shot for it. Diehl also explained that under Minnesota law, a citizen does not have to tell a cop he is carrying a gun- but its not a stretch to think that Castile told Yanez about the gun because Yanez could see the outline of it in his pants pocket and figured it would be best to admit the truth? Or should we just assume Castile was stoned and not to sure what he was saying and ran into foolish trouble?
Emanuel Kapelsohn was one of a number of experts hired by both sides to testify about use of force training and related matters. Kapelsohn said it would have taken Castile three-tenths of a second to remove his gun from his pocket, versus five-tenths of a second for Yanez to react to that threat. That means that if Yanez is telling the truth about what he saw, the officer could have been shot and killed had he not responded immediately to Castile’s grip on his gun, Kapelsohn said.
This statement by Kapelsohn was dissected and disputed with no hard conclusion being reached. What we CAN be sure of is that in the sort of quick draw contest described in court- with Castile drawing his gun and Yanez responding ONLY AFTER he clearly saw Castile`s gun, it would be a VERY CLOSE contest- with NO guarantee that Yanez would come out alive. The odds presented by the experts seem to show that in that quick draw contest, the odds were more in favour of Castile and that Yanez saved his own life by shooting first rather than simply responding to movement by Castile. And THAT reaction by Yanez IS part of police training!
Other key points were made by Kapelsohn Friday morning related to the level of danger Yanez placed Castile’s girlfriend and young child in when he opened fire into Castile’s vehicle.
Had Yanez not shot, Kapelsohn said, a gunfight could have erupted between Castile, Yanez and possibly Yanez’s police partner- Kauser- who was coming up on the other side of Castile’s vehicle that night.
Instead of retreating to a safer position for himself, he added that Yanez remained at Castile’s window so he could point down and to the left to avoid injury to the other passengers in the car. “Yanez endangered himself to try and make it less dangerous for the two other people involved,” Kapelsohn said.
Another `use of force` expert suggested that Yanez should have de-escalated and disengaged from the scene by stepping away but that seems like nonsense. He was totally exposed in the street with no immediate place to hide and no guarantee that Castile would not shoot at him as he backed away.
Further, as Castile was stoned to some degree- we can only say he was not in a condition to be driving and that if Yanez had let him flee the scene it might have resulted in a car crash and more trouble! Then there is the added issue of asking this: if Yanez decided not confront Castile at that time about the armed felon suspicions because of the presence of the woman and child; then WHEN WOULD be a good time for a confrontation? Would cop haters have been any happier of cops had shown up at the school cafeteria where Castile worked-surrounded by kids- so they could arrest him there? That is the ugly side of police work- our cities are BUSY places and there are always innocent victims in the way!
Yanez was simply doing his job in seeking out a person he believed might be an armed felon. That Castile appeared to be too stoned to deal with the matter in a sensible way is NOT the fault of cops and does NOT indicate bigotry! The various `experts` agreed at trial, that if Castile had followed police instructions and his firearm training and kept his hands on the steering wheel he would be alive today. If he had been sensible, he would have left the gun at home. If he had been MORE sensible, he would not have driven the car in his stoned condition.
And if Castile lived in a country where the full and complete truth was told in open court and NOT then subject to cutting and editing by LIE-beral loving sensation seeking news media; and if we did NOT have a LIE-beral govt so desperate to cling to power that they would rather pluck out their own eyes than say anything bad about a doped up ethnic stoner, then we might not be literally throwing gasoline on the bonfire ignited by Black Lives Matter reverse bigots!
And what of the govt choice to pay the Castile family three million dollars for their pain and suffering? Since when did the govt start writing life insurance policies for armed and stupid stoners?
And it was also decided by govt that Yanez should be offered a deal to encourage HIM to leave the police force and this does seem necessary since he would forever after be a lightning rod for trouble- whether deserved or otherwise. So he was paid to take his family and leave town and you have to figure HIS payment was also in the millions in exchange for being BRIBED to slink away and not make a fuss simply because he defended himself from an armed and foolish stoner? AFTER being declared NOT GUILTY!
And is it not interesting that of the 12 jury members, 2 were black and from the start of jury deliberations they are reported to have supported Yanez! Some black people do see very clearly how the law should work! Some black people do work as store clerks and understand the issues and RISKS quite well!
Last year, the Toronto (Red) Star newspaper told us that a typical Cdn lawyer defending a client accused of murder gets paid about half a million dollars- with at least that much more going to the prosecution. Then add in all the other costs for bailiffs and court reporters and added security for such a sensational trial and lost work from the hundreds of candidates ordered to appear for possible jury selection and you have how many more hundreds of thousands in costs? So a million dollars or maybe two million for the trial and lawyers and assorted experts, plus at least five million and maybe 6 -7 million to deal with the pain and suffering of the Castile and Yanez families and you have a bill of between 6 and 10 million dollars and all because some stoner could not go out for groceries without his gun and ran into some cop who was just doing his job in hunting an armed felon!
And hey- T-gurly- we all KNOW how loud you would scream if some armed thug stole your computer! And we know how quickly you would be on the phone to the cops you hate- to urge them find and punish those who threatened you and cut off your propaganda disseminating lifeline! And if they could not find it you are just the kind of guy to assume they are racists and don’t care about your stolen property! And if they DO find it, then you will go right back to throwing mud at them! Such behaviour is called HYPOCRISY!
The Yanez shooting is the natural result of letting stoners wander around in public with guns! Guns and drugs do NOT mix! U.S. gun law forbids a stoner from carrying a gun because they are not in their right and careful minds while stoned. U.S. law recognizes that carrying a gun can cause “chaos” in a traffic stop as Diehl the firearms trainer told the court and he stressed the care with which a person carrying a gun should deal with cops. Stoner Castile did virtually NOTHING right in his meeting with Yanez and got shot for being A STUPID STONED THREAT!
Gosh Murphy, what an ODD thing to guess at? No I am not an immigrant....and with a native connection on Moms side of the family I am not entirely an `immigrant` at all!
I am just a guy who is totally disgusted by the nonsense going on around me! LIE-beral have been screwing with us for decades- just endless manipulation and gross lies they are hoping we are to busy to recall at election time! Consider LIE-beral handling of native issues. You don't need any particular skin pigmentation to be outraged- you only need to pay taxes!
The Aug. 8, 2016 issue of McLean`s Magazine contains a `special report on race and power` that, if accepted by Cdns, will-so I believe- encourage bigotry in Canada. McLean`s trumpets the news that native people RARELY get elected to positions of authority outside the reserves and McLean`s thinks it’s a legacy of bigotry! Apparently McLean`s supports reverse discrimination-how else to explain their simple minded statistical analysis of racial numbers in Saskatchewan?
I ask-how is it that Cdns are overlooking and rejecting prospective native politicians? Especially when they all too often lack even a high school diploma-the BASIC educational building block in Canada. Only 25 percent of natives living on reserves graduate from high school. An even smaller number go on to higher education so surely McLean`s might want to be honest and recognize that a MAJOR lack of qualification might be behind some of this alleged racist behaviour?
Traditionally politicians work themselves up from local municipal positions and from school boards and such other small beginnings-gaining eloquence, insight and the wisdom of experience on the way. There are substantial obstacles to natives from reserves making such headway due to the assorted scandals that plague the great majority of reserves-not just in Saskatchewan but right across the country.
It is true that only one third of natives live on reserves-with the remainder living in regular cities like the rest of us so one may ask why these natives do not seek political office? Perhaps it is again due to lack of education? Or perhaps it is a legacy of watching the endemic corruption on reserves that has persuaded natives living off reserves that politics is a dirty game they don’t want to play? Or perhaps white voters have seen and heard so much about the corruption and chaos on reserves that they justly fear to vote for any native candidate? Such things are not related to simple minded bigotry but are grounded in fact and logic.
Who in the wider world beyond Kashetchewan Reserve would vote for any of that band council? Federal govt built the band a drinking water plant and sewage treatment plant and then sent native volunteers off to a crash course in how to manage the plants. Due to native educational short-comings and the accelerated/limited training courses given to quickly get ill prepared and semi literate natives up to speed, govt recognized that outside help would often be needed and a bank account was set up so that the band could dip into the funds to hire white experts as needed to come in and show natives how to repair more complex machinery and keep the plants running.
Imagine the surprise when BOTH plants-sewage and drinking water-broke down and left the band with raw piss coming out their taps! Further-the band was BROKE-NO MONEY left in the repair bill bank accounts. Govt was bewildered and auditors were sent in to track the cash-while band council MOCKED govt for mishandling their water systems and being CHEAP with funds!
Auditors reported back that the repair money had been spent instead on air fares to send a hockey team to California for a tournament! A LARGE number of adult chaperones also went along. Add in bills for hotel rooms, nice meals, alcohol and some mad money for playing at the local casino and voila-the bank account is empty! Though why natives would blame govt for this is not clear to anybody but natives?
Housing in Kashetchewan is also a thorny issue. `Kash`-as the reserve is known-stands on the Hudson`s Bay Lowlands-a vast set of river deltas created by millions of creeks and streams-it`s 1.5 million square km with an average elevation of SIX FEET above sea level. To suggest that there is risk of flooding during the spring thaw is a MASSIVE UNDERSTATEMENT!
The drinking water plant and sewage plant were built by white men and they STARTED the job by piling up tons of sand and gravel to produce an elevated pad with the plant built on top-out of the reach of flood waters. The natives were hired to build the less technically demanding prefab band homes and they are virtually ALL flood damaged to varying degrees because native home builders apparently did NOT pile up sand and gravel pads for the houses to sit upon out of reach of flood waters. But natives happily BLAME federal govt for their housing troubles!
Natives in eastern Canada also have housing troubles that they blame on Ottawa. But those natives don’t want to discuss the Carribean cruises they took-using housing money! They don’t want to discuss the salaries of native band leaders-one of whom leads a band of less than 500 people and collects a salary of over half a million dollars per year!
Natives in `Kash` don’t want to discuss the epidemic of skin disease that is plaguing area kids and got so bad this spring that a team of govt doctors was flown in to assess and treat a pack of kids-with several of the worst cases being airlifted out to Thunder Bay for hospital treatment. Nor does anybody want to admit that the skin ailments are apparently triggered by lack of contact with soap and water and by a lack of clean clothing-even though the `Kash` water plants were returned to fully functioning status a couple of years back.
Natives in any number of reserves are complaining of epidemic rates of suicide and of drug abuse.
Native politicians from the reserves are clearly hamstrung by these terrible and deplorable situations-how can any educated person from the larger world-meaning white community- consider bypassing conventionally skilled and educated politicians and instead choose some aspiring native politician with a sketchy education and tied to a long history of corruption and malfeasance?
Further-it now costs the average federal member of our parliament roughly one hundred thousand dollars to mount an effective campaign for public office-so where would un-employed natives get this kind of money? Selling illegal smokes is profitable but is it that profitable that a native with political aspirations would risk such money from his own pocket just to get on a public stage?
So here is a fun question being ignored by Mc`Leans writers: “is it bigotry or is it common sense that is keeping natives out of political offices”?
Another good question is this: “is the LIE-beral party of Canada hurting or helping Cdns”? I say LIE-berals are killing natives with misplaced kindness. LIE-berals have rescinded virtually all the Conservative mandated legislation that would have compelled native bands into something more closely resembling responsible govt!
By compelling bands to post ALL band expenses online-including salaries and pensions, the interested (Conservative) observer could see at a glance how well and how carefully the band was managing its tax money. And since virtually ALL that money is supplied by ordinary Cdns-they would have some reassurance that there would be no more Carribean cruises and no more visits to casinos by native leaders at tax payer expense! Housing money would be spent on JUST THAT!
How sad that LIE-berals do NOT APPROVE of these measure which would have made life easier on reserves by minimizing troubles and enuring that best use was made of tax money! LIE-berals are applying a form of bigotry of their own. They seem to have written off natives and consigned them to a hellish life of shortages and limitations-while preaching of their LIE-beral style care and concern!
LIE-berals consider it beneath them to try to ensure tax money is spent wisely on reserves and they certainly have no known plans to INCREASE the amount of tax money flowing to reserves. In fact there are indications that the way the new LIE-beral child care benefit is set up- natives can actually expect LESS money in future!
People who don’t file a T-4 income tax form-and that includes most natives since natives living on reserves do NOT PAY income tax-won’t be getting the new child benefit! Either natives will do without or LIE-berals will eventually have to come up with some alternate program just for reserves! After all, natives making a living selling illegal smokes or guns etc will NOT want to give govt written records regarding their alleged income in case Revenue Canada agents come sniffing around looking for sales tax payoffs!)
And after all this, does McLean`s STILL want to suggest that it is white racists that are blocking native from positions of power?
