Another great thing about All In The Family is the many spin off series that came off of it. These were highly popular for many years as well.

Tremendous creativity in TV back in those days. Small wonder why they remain popular to this day.

For sure. Actually there are probably damn near as many people today who are very similar to Archie as there was then. The one difference is they are not quite as outspoken.

I'm looking forward to the new British reality TV show, 10,000BC.

The series will see a group of 20 contestants forgo modern amenities and everyday comforts to live as people did in the Stone Age. Contestants will be required to hunt for food, and will be "pushed to the limits of endurance". The new series will run for ten 60-minute episodes on Channel 5. It starts next month.

So....Brittish Survivor. No thanks. Didn't like it the first time around. Of course reality TV seldom is.

It's acting. Role playing. No sense in reading more into it than what it is even though I do it too sometimes. then I realize, it ain't real and not much more significant than reading a comic strip.

There are shows that when I watch the last episode, I find myself sad that they are no longer on.

1. Lost: While I found the ending itself (as well as a lot of the last season) to be a letdown, I still found myself sad that the show was done. I had many fond memories of the show, and my favourite season was the second, as I loved the entire mystery involving the Hatch.

2. Fringe: I loved this show. It has the distinction of being one of the few shows that I watched the intro in it's entirety for the entire run. And the last episode? *sniff*

3. Magnum P.I.: Although Season 8 wasn't the greatest, I find that I miss Thomas (great name, by the way) Magnum's adventures in Hawaii.

4. Heroes: A show that started out so awesome, got really convoluted at the end. I still dug the show, and wished it was still around.

There are others, but this will do for now.
That's how I feel too!! Like the office and friends

Does Anyone know some good Canadian shows?

my mistake - we have at least five channels which show old tv shows and five which show old movies here in St Paul

great to know there are so many nostalgia buffs here and that the networks cater to them

The Dean Martin Roasts.

Good old variety stuff like the Carol Burnett Show.

I found a channel that has all of the old shows I watched in my youth. Leave it to Beaver, The Rifleman, Andy Griffith Show and so on from that era. Maybe it takes me back to a time when my own mind was not so cluttered with things of this day and age. I also like Green Acres Mr. Haney was my favorite.

OK - I admit that every once in a while I still watch The Adventures of Superman starring George Reeves.

Today, I watched Season 1, Episode #5 entitled "The Monkey Mystery" which dealt with Cold War tensions and which starred the lovely and very wholesome looking Allene Roberts. Miss Roberts was known for her portrayal of vulnerable, wholesome girls, and young women. Her career only lasted about 10 years when she retired to become a full time home maker.

She is still alive and well in her native Alabama.
