Alas, now that I know I am seriously gluten intolerant, no more beer for me.

Ah, but life goes on .....

Can't you drink Heineken? I know a few Celiac's & one of them drinks this,
& only this. I don't know if it's truely Gluten-Free, but it works for her.

Personally, if I can get my hands on it, I like "Sol Limon" (a cheap Mexican
Lime beer), but I like pretty much any Lime beer, be it Miller Chill or Bud Lite
Lime.

Check out Rickard's Shandies if you like citrus.

Spring's here now, I guarantee I'll be picking up a case of Alley Kat's ApriKat. I'm sure I've mentioned it in this thread already, but YUM!

There are only two beers worth their weight in Canada.

Whistler Brewing Co.'s Weissbier, Hoppelganger India pale ale from R&B Brewing, Honey Brown Lager from Bowen Island, Odell's Cutthroat Porter, Nelson Brewing Co. in Nelson, BC used to have better oatmeal stout than Guinness, but they went to a cheaper grain and f'cked up so now we're back to Guinness stout. Haven't had a better cream ale than Guinness's. Tannenzäpfle pilsener and Stoudt's pilsener, Weihenstephan Korbinian lager, Faxe Strong Lager.
Not into bacon-flavored beer, chocolate-flavored beer, ice beer, dry beer, light beer, etc.

I've heard that Heineken has a low gluten content but I'm too afraid of trying it. Maybe some day it will come up with a gluten free type. Let's hope so.

Non-alcoholic beers taste terrible.
Molson's sure does - of course, so does their 5% one. President's Choice is okay, and the house brand at Food Basics isn't too awful. The brand name bottled baby beers are too expensive: might as well get the real thing.

My recent favourite is Waterloo Dark. Great with dessert.
For a refreshring drink after outdoor work, Marten's or Hollandia
(Actually, most of the tall cans from Europe. For one thing, they weigh in at a nice round 500 cc, instead of some silly arbitrary number like 473.... I mean wdtem?
I've become a huge fan of the LCBO cool room since i can't drink wine or spirits anymore. A cherished door closed, but a whole new world opened up.)

I like a light Cream Ale.. but my favourite is good Irish Red Ale.. like Smithwicks. Many micro breweries produce one with varying degrees of success.

For cheap suds in BC.. Iron Horse (6.4% alc) is not bad.. kind of insufficiently mixed but drinkable. When i lived in Ontario i liked Labatt's Max Ice (@7.1% alc).. and very well mixed.. but a little bland as are most lagers.

The advantage with the Ice was it was sold in 500ml cans which is far more sensible than the 355ml that most beers are sold in. Purists though always buy beer in bottles.

I brewed up a batch of Golden Lemon Wheat Ale.

It came out real good. A good summer beer. By the rate I am going I may actually have to brew another summer brew. It usually takes me months to drink two cases (the typical yield), but these are going down nice.

I think because I brewed it in the winter and the house temp was ideal.

I ran out of coolers on the long weekend, and all that was left was 'Lucky' beer that had been bought for baking. So, I made myself lemonade shandies with it... lol. Pretty decent summer drink actually!
