Punishing success is one of Canada's great national past times.

I suppose, legally speaking ignoramuses of the same ilk as the Forum Idiot have a right to express their haywire opinions! And we have to put up with this shit at the expense of high blood pressure!

I see nothing wrong with it, seniors should look after their own retirement costs.
Many of them go thru life spending like there is no tomorrow, then they expect the government to look after them when they retire,,,,screw that,,,look after your own retirement.

I looked after mine almost 20 years ago. :)

Pointless to let it bother you.... Simply take solace in the very real potential that these same loud-mouths will likely be sucking hind teat in the near future when they are looking to hang up their spurs, hoping to cash-in at someone's elses expense

For the most part the seniors who have assets or even those without have been paying into the system all their life. Why are they not entitled to take some out towards the end? And why punish those who have worked at acquiring assets? They won't need as much of a help.

They're entitled to their entitlements like any good socialist but let's not pretend the paid for it all. The accumulated public debt in this country says otherwise.

You're absolutely right, I know I have a short fuse when it comes to the mindlessness of thoughtless people! :) :)

Change the word entitlements to the phrase, monies they were forced to contributed for decades in advance.

maybe that might clear things up for ya
Your argument is irrelevant given the accumulated public debt, but do enjoy your attempted word smithing. Some people might actually buy into it

That is hilarious.

Your contention is that the hard cash that these seniors were forced to contribute for the express purpose of the gvt returning that money in later years is irrelevant to the issue?

... So then, what, exactly, is the relevant bits?

There should be an age limit on holding wealth. When seniors reach 85, their assets should be distributed to the younger generation. After all, geezers are poor spenders. Capital should be working for society, not moulding in fetid mattresses.
Write the PM. Lobby your MP. Get a haircut. Turn off your goddamn turn signal. Turn down the radio. I'm not deaf already!

Look folks, it's rather simple, paying into CPP, pension plans et al while running up public debt is like putting your money into a savings account while running up your credit card. You've got $100k in savings and $200 on your Visa. You then pass off your $200k credit card bill to your children and grandchildren and point to your savings account as evidence that you looked after yourself

Psst... nobody believes you...not even yourselves and that's what upsets you the most. It's tough looking in the mirror and seeing a hypocrite looking back.

At least we'll have lots of immigrants coming in to help pay off the debt you've left us with

Many seniors are house rich, but cash poor. If the housing market bursts, there will be a lot of shiftless millennials who will actually have to work hard for a living instead of coasting as their inheritance will be gone.

You have one little fact wrong, IDIOT! Not all of us were running up public debt MORON. I didn't draw welfare, I didn't draw U.I.C. and I made very little use of the medical until I was into my 70s our money flow was in the opposite direction .............into the Gov't coffers. I better quit before I start getting mean.

Where did you get the notion they all acquired houses through inheritance. Actually likely very few did!

Sorry, I guess I drew the wrong conclusion when I saw houses and inheritance in the same paragraph. The forum midget has kind of put me in a bad mood as Idiots tend to do. :)
