Joke's on you, off-the-gridders;
The federal Environmental Protection Agency has proposed new standards for wood stoves that would reduce the maximum amount of fine particulate emissions allowed for new stoves sold in 2015 and 2019. Maximum emissions would be reduced by one-third next year and by 80 percent in five years...

First they came for my V8 car.
Then they came after my perfectly good light bulbs.
Now they are after my wood stove.
What next, regulate my CO2 infused breath?

There is more polution from forest fires and volcanos than from wood stoves, when will they start blaming us for everything. Doesn't anyone see past all this, c o n t r o l . Just think of all the new regulations gouv. have passed concerning our lives, the worst people accept without question.

They should start with the big producers if they truly want to make gains.

Ah they are the big producers. Your advice to them would have them rolling in the isles. They gained you, you'll pay.

That is because someone in government can"t stand to see anyone get free heat.

You can't be warm if you don't adhere to regulations after all wood heat is a new science bareley understood by the general public. Safety and happy experiances with your wood heating appliance is our responsibility.. Let's all get behind these new regulations and make the program a success.

Fine particulate emission is a different issue than CO2--respiratory issues. MAkes sense for cities. Not so much for rural areas.

It's only free if you're one of the lucky few who owns enough land to have trees. And even then, most people I know are worth more per hour, than they save by chopping wood.

Chainsaws, chains, bars, bar oil all add up beyond the labour.

Then there is the f-cking mess and higher insurance rates. HUGE savings.
