Oh boy, at least another 2 years of Groper's politics of division and slitting our economic throats for the benefit of China, Russia, the EU, India and the US.

I know the other candidates were shit too but when you vote for a PROVEN Canada-hating Quebec nationalist it means you hate Canada as well. Which means you are now officially my enemy. I will NOT be speaking to ANY Groper supporters with even a smidgeon of respect or tolerance from here on out. To put it bluntly, if you're a Groper groupie stay the fuck out of my face.

Yeah, 6 mil down the drain.

Unless Trudeau had not won, then it'd be well spent?

Anyone who believed there would be a difference this election wasn't paying attention.

Trudeau was going to stay (sadly).

But until there is someone worth being PM, this is likely how it's gonna stay.

Or there is such a thing as Progressive Con again and not these morons that they are now, which might give the Libs a run for their money.
You can thank Chretien for the fact that there's no federal PC party anymore. Yeah I know, some shit-wit will blame Mulroney for that but let's face it, it was Chretien who predatorily changed the party funding laws after the PC's disastrous showing making it virtually impossible for them to reconstitute as a stand-alone party. Yep, no more federal PCs but for some fucked up retard reason the Bloc is a federal party and sucking funds from the ROC.

For those who can't see what the fuck is actually wrong with Canada, it's because you're part of the fucking problem. The sad fact is, there's NO party worth voting for, especially this time since all the major candidates stated without saying as much, that they will shit all over Canada's constitution.

I've supported FPTP as I thought it served a country as regionally diverse as Canada quite well.

We beat the Liberals by 221,000 votes in 2019.

We beat the Liberals by 277,000 votes in 2021.

Yet the Conservative Party is still in opposition.

This only happened once before Justin Trudeau..............

The system no longer seems to be serving Canadians well. Not sure I want to abandon it, but damn, it is frustrating watcvhing the worst PM in history get re-elected TWICE while losing the popular vote both times.

The Maverick Party was the solution for the west, the Bloq of the West..

Canadians are just fucking stupid.. they deserve to have their kids future mortgaged and the standard of living downgraded

That election yesterday was the biggest farce since Trump got elected in 2016. Actually it was disgusting how a chronic and compulsive liar can call an election that wasn't needed and didn't resolve anything. All it accomplished was the squandering of $610 million dollars. Tragic!

So question:

In my riding, there was no one worth voting for.

But they don't count spoiled ballots or anything that suggest displeasure of this fact.

What would you suggest to people who have no one but still want to vote?

It killed some uncomfortable committees and shone the light elsewhere .

Get someone to run who's worth voting for?

Funny stuff eh? What's funny is you opining about the lack of a federal PC party anymore and then laughing about how they got fucked over by the Libshits. What's even more amusing is your tacit approval of Quebec's dominance over the ROC. The Quebec problem isn't a Liberal or Conservative issue, it's one of regional alliance. Even Mulroney demonstrated his willingness to screw the ROC over for the benefit of Quebec, being from Baie-Comeau, Quebec himself.

I dunno how old you are but believe or not stuff actually happened before you were born, or when you were still a little kid. Either that or you're a career politician's favourite target, someone with shit for a memory.

So, where do we go from here?

What a waste of $600 million.

Libs, Cons, Bloc and Greens retain nearly all of their seats. NDP made slight gains.

Annamie Paul is out as leader, I think that maybe that Dimitri guy or the Quebec Green leader may succeed her.

O'Toole? He has a good chance of getting ousted. He may resign or not pass a leadership review, especially if there is a caucus revolt constructed by MPs who are angry at his 'centrist' position that couldn't make him PM.

Thoughts?
One of the good thing to come out of the election was that the taliban loving Monsef - remember her calling them 'our brothers' ffs - was turfed. Not the least surprised that Paul was soundly defeated - enter May - again. I think O'Toole has every chance of remaining the leader of the Conservatives. Jagmeet is once again the kingmaker but his propping up the lieberals will come with a very heavy price.
The little potato is done like dirt. There is no way on earth the backroom boys in the party will allow him to take the party into another election after failing twice to win a majority.

I got off my arse and voted early & did my part. Given a chance to vote for change, many Canadians did not. There was no reckoning for broken promises and repeated failures. There was no mass support for bolder visions and bigger ideas on either side of the aisle. Given the dismal records of Trudeau’s cabinet, there was much speculation some may lose their seats. Only two did: fisheries minister Bernadette Jordan and minister of rural economic development Maryam Monsef.

Meanwhile, former Liberal candidate Kevin Vuong, who was thrown out of the party after news broke of a dropped sexual abuse charge, is locked in a nail-biter where every last vote will count. Even if the NDP challenger surpasses him, Vuong will have pulled in more than 35 per cent of the vote. This from a party led by a self-proclaimed feminist. Can you imagine the reaction if this were a former Conservative candidate? It’d be apocalyptic.

Defence minister Harjit Sajjan, who was censured by the House of Commons over his handling of the military’s grotesque sexual misconduct crisis, also won back his seat. So did minister of Crown-Indigenous affairs, Carolyn Bennett, after years of failure to deliver clean drinking water, affordable housing, and justice for murdered and missing Indigenous women and residential school survivors.
View attachment 10091
Foreign affairs minister Marc Garneau was re-elected directly following a show of utter incompetence and misplaced priorities, which led to unnecessary suffering in Afghanistan. Then there’s the fact we still can’t get the U.S. to reciprocate on border opening, leaving families separated and businesses struggling.
View attachment 10092
Minister of Health Patty Hajdu, who made devastatingly wrong calls throughout COVID-19 on everything from masks to border closures, rapid tests, and aerosol spread, will also land back in Ottawa.

And the housing crisis be damned, Ahmed Hussen, minister of families, children, and social development, which includes the housing file, secured a third term even though Liberal policies helped fuel some of the most stratospheric real estate prices on the planet.

Instead of giving someone else a chance to do better and be better, we’re just going to repeat what we did the last election, and the one before that. The saying goes: fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. When it happens a third time, you have to conclude maybe the fool isn’t quite so naive. Perhaps they’re even complicit.
View attachment 10095
The assumption among many pundits was that Liberal voters would dislike being lied to time and time again; that they would anger over the party’s moral failures on everything from sexual assault to reconciliation and corruption. But, just maybe, many Liberal voters knew what they were getting all along: promises and rhetoric to help them sleep well at night with little chance of any real change.

Change, by its very nature, comes with risk — and if there’s anything Canadians abhor, it’s risk. So rather than make meaningful strides on gender equality, housing affordability, Indigenous rights, our decimated healthcare and military infrastructure, or Canada’s place in a rapidly changing world, we’d rather just order more of the same. At least we know what the status quo tastes like.

It may’ve been an unpredictable campaign season, but at the end of the day, the electorate was entirely predictable in its refusal to leave its centrist comfort bubble.

FTFY, Boom. Read the comments. There are more than a few non-lieberals here. Sask proved once again to be True Blue. My sister and I voted for the Conservative candidate running for the first time in this riding. He won by a landslide.
