Hey, today we have 12 degrees C and sunny in Nanaimo.......Now, if we could just get the temp over 25 we'd be set....
Welcome to Canada.:roll:Yesterday we got about a foot of snow. It has been snowing since early this morning. We/ve accumulated fifteen or sixteen inches
and it is still snowing. The weatherman is promising warmer temperatures and rain tomorrow and then solid rain for the next few days. The snow is so wet, a big scoop of it weighs a ton so I don't feel like shoveling it. I'll probably get a note from the mail guy telling us he can't deliver mail because we haven't cleared a path for him.......

Weird? It's winter and it's Canada.yes, how wierd is this?
Snowlady? How do you plan on hollowing out the head? Mellon baller?guess mother nature just didn't want us to feel left out, well, i'd like to make a snowlady out of her

I was born in Powell River, and have lived back on the Sunshine Coast fo 22 years. I too, have never seen snow this late. Not even late January. Rain, wind storms, but not snow. Very, very weird.I've lived in the Gabriola/Nanaimo area for the last twenty years and I've never seen anything even close to
this much snow.
Petros, why don't you tell us how you hollowed out your own head?
And of course I have out of town guests arriving tomorrow. They are from the Rockies so they will feel right at home. Actually I am blaming the snow on them.I was born in Powell River, and have lived back on the Sunshine Coast fo 22 years. I too, have never seen snow this late. Not even late January. My crocuses, and early buds on many bushes are now suffering.just not used to this.

Never say never.Record snow hits Nanaimo
It was a record-setting snowfall in Nanaimo on Sunday but business continued on as usual.
By The Daily News (Nanaimo) December 15, 2008
With 33 centimetres of fresh snow overnight Saturday, the 36 centimetres on the ground Sunday set a daily record in Nanaimo. The pileup beat the Dec. 14 record of 19.8 centimetres in 2000.

I said it has never snowed like this in February in the last 22 years and I believe I am correct on that point. From 2008...
Never say never.
maybe they will survive, temps have not been that cold. And snow is an insulator at times. We had a whole front yard full of crocuses and snowdrops that are now under a foot and a half of snow. This weather is why I left Edmonton....
Oh come now I have had tee times delayed in May waiting for the snow to melt in the lower mainland . Sure snow is rare in February but certainly not unheard of .I said it has never snowed like this in February in the last 22 years and I believe I am correct on that point.
December is mid winter for us and snow happens in December and January, but as mentioned never saw it in February before. If there is a record for snow in Feb here, someone can dig that up.

Yeah they'll survive no problem.maybe they will survive, temps have not been that cold. And snow is an insulator at times.

As mentioned I've lived on the Sunshine Coast for 22 years. For some growing years, I lived in Powell River and at times in Vancouver. Even at that Vancouver weather is not our weather. I have never seen snow in our communities by the ocean, in late February for the past 22 years, let alone May. Where in the lower mainland did you see snow waiting to melt in May? Are you referring to the North Shore? or Coastal Mountain areas or Hope etc? because those areas are not the same as the area where I live. And if in the annals of weather history snow happened here, like I said, I don't know of 100 years ago or 60 years ago.Oh come now I have had tee times delayed in May waiting for the snow to melt in the lower mainland . Sure snow is rare in February but certainly not unheard of .
Well, I think the subject is the same. Are you #1Juan?
