"Organic" Is The Latin Word For "Grown In Pig Sh!t"

Organic farming is sold as good for the environment. This is correct for a single farm field: organic farming uses less energy, emits less greenhouse gasses, nitrous oxide and ammonia and causes less nitrogen leeching than a conventional field. But each organic field yields much, much less. So, to grow the same amount of wheat, spinach or strawberries, you need much more land. That means that average organic produce results in the emission of about as many greenhouse gasses as conventional produce; and about 10 per cent more nitrous oxide, ammonia and acidification. Worse, to produce equivalent quantities, organic farms need to occupy 84 per cent more land - land which can't be used for forests and genuine nature reserves. For example, to produce the amount of food America does today, but organically, would require increasing its farmland by the size of almost two United Kingdoms. That is the equivalent of eradicating all parklands and wild lands in the lower 48 states.

Think organic food is better for you, animals, and the planet? Think again

We used to farm and soil tested our land so we applied, close to the amount of fertilizer we needed.

We had people who were "organic farmers" and that was a joke. When we sprayed our fields, it was rarely totally calm, that meant the spray would not just on our fields, but some on the fields around ours.

Then there was the one who lied on his application form and the inspector who came to check, about the number of years since he had applied chemical.

I will end my tirade with the fact that the organic stamp comes from regulations in the country that they were grown in. Plus for certain fruits and vegetables are allowed a measured amount of chemicals and still labelled, organic

Organic is better for you but it will cost more because it is much more labour intensive. Even some fertilizer is OK. Just stay away from anything from Monsanto. Turn golf courses and strip malls back into farm land and there would be lots of land to farm.

The human lab cannot ever overtake the natural lab, eat your fruits and berries and you will live long productive lives despite them,

I dunno know, DB...........I'd say the human lab was doing a bang up job of chewing up the natural lab. Even Nature has her limits.

organic is actually the original and normal way to grow things, when I was a kid all of our

grown veggies, fruit etc was all grown organically, now when people talk about organic, its

as though it is something weird, the weird was what came after the organic past.

People are reared, programmed, and brought up to believe in what they are told... to the point the Truth no longer matter... only the Belief... "All honest relations are rooted in the practical and moral side of nature. Nature does not lie. It does not deceive, nor does it plays games of ulterior motive; and therefore it has made a deep impression on what I perceive. Lying is simply unacceptable and offensive. It takes strength to stand up for Truth and reveals weakness in those who cover up Truth. There is no honor without honesty and the other virtues, for they are all of the same fabric―Truth." - Greg Stout
