Naw, they just don't like having their hard-earned money stolen from their pockets by the state and used to subsidize a rich guy's expensive car, sold by another rich guy.......while they are driving a 2004 Honda Civic.

Musk is an arsehole, and his tweet confirms the fact.

I think you are quite right about Musk being an asshole, but he is an asshole that gets things done. His pushing of green energy has dozens of other automobile companies trying to head him off with their own electric vehicles and he has pushed green energy to the point where it is now cheaper than fossil fuels. That does not mean he will stop pushing for subsidies; most major industrialists push for the same in one form or another. He reminds me of other innovators, like Henry ford, Thomas Edison, and John D. Rockefeller; all of whom had personality flaws and all of whom used government to promote their businesses.
