SirJosephPorter, Einstein said once that the surest sign of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

In several posts now, you have repeated the LIE that I predicted a 50 state sweep by Palin in 2012.

You seem to be obsessed with "50 states". In one of your posts you said that Reagan won 50 states, not sure now, if it was 1980 or 1984. In any case, Reagan NEVER won 50 states, no President ever did.

I know that, obviously you don't. And since I know I would NEVER make prediction that Palin would win 50 states.

I accept your apology.

In any case it is the most childish, repetitive thing I have seen...

SirJosephPorter, mistakenly, opined:

"Most of the far right would not consider Obama to be their president."

I have no stats, but I have a feeling that the percentage of Americans who do not consider Obama their President is roughly the same percentage of Canadians who do not consider Stephen Harper their Prime Minister.

More than likely, you, among them.

I seriously doubt that, YJ. In USA, most of the Republican base does not consider Obama as their president, which is about 30% of the population. How could they, when he is not even a US citizen, according to them? They want Obama to be handcuffed and put in prison as an illegal alien (or at the very least, deported to Indonesia or Kenya).

So about 1/3rd of US population does not consider Obama to be their president. As to the Messiah, I cannot really think of anybody who does not think him as the PM.

The political atmosphere in Canada is nowhere near as poisoned as it is in USA. I cannot think of anybody who does not regard Harper as the PM.

"Anyway your fellow acolyte, YJ, has already predicted that Joan of Arc will sweep all 50 states in 2012. Surely his crystal ball cannot be wrong."

If I was not a delicate and courteous guy, I would call you a bloody liar, justifiably, because I NEVER predicted such thing.

Not about Sarah Palin and especially NOT about the long dead Joan of Arc.

And since I am a nice guy, I won't call you an idiot, either.

Sorry YJ, but you did say that, a long time ago. You probably did not realize how ridiculous that comment sounded, evidently now you do.

But there is an easy way to settle that. Let me ask you a question. Do you think it is likely that Palin may not sweep all 50 states in 2012? If not, which states do you think she will lose?

Let us see if you can contemplate Palin losing even a single state. Answer this simple question and we will say no more about Palin sweeping 50 states.

As to your novel way of insulting somebody, who do you think you are kidding? If somebody says ‘I won’t call you’, do you think he can then put any insult, any abuse, any filth, however vile, however gross after that and it is OK?

Anyway, I have reported your post to the moderators, let them decide. Ron said that we should not quote insults, so I have deleted that part from the quote here.

Now that's more like it - Parliamentary style. You can't be accused of a personal insult, because you said you won't insult him.

When you're finished, there's an MLA here (Abel Leblanc) who could use your help.

Oh, really? Well, let us see what the moderators have to say about that.

Same ol' Joey. A lot of yapping and no substance.

I gave you a prediction long ago. Slowly but surely this would be chipped away. I was right, you were wrong.

You did not give me any prediction. Perhaps now you are ready to make a prediction, based upon the Massachusetts result.

There is no question of an apology, I have already answered your post. You did make that prediction, long time ago.

Oh, he is pretty smart all right. That is why Joan of Arc has an approval rating of 26%, well down from what she had a year ago.

She's not running for President at the moment. You must know that polls change, and a lot can happen between now and 2012.

Surely not. Are you saying that a Democrat can ever show any leadership qualities? Surely all the candidates who show leadership qualities are Republicans (Joan of Arc of course, being the best of the bunch, at least according to her acolytes).

No, you have inferred that. I tend to try (not always successfully) to avoid making silly & sweeping statements like that because I recognize that there are many different people involved and I tend to try and not paint them all with the same brush.

And I try not to do a lot of name calling either...it tends to not only look stupid, but it demeans whatever credibility the author might have had in the first place. I'd rather use real terms and names in order to keep the discussion from degenerating into schoolyard-style name calling.

Quite so. lack of knowledge, lack of intelligence, inability to speak a sentence coherently, lack of experience, not being able to answer a question without reading her crib notes, high negatives among women, all these qualities will stand her in good steed.
Knowledge - Having it is one thing, knowing how to apply it to produce results is another.
Intelligence - We might have different definitions of this one. Does your definition include making up silly names for people with whom you disagree? Or is that an indication of other problems? Just curious...
Inability to speak a sentence coherently - Sometimes people encounter a "selective hearing problem" when their views are so extreme they are blinded (or deafened) by the facts.
Lack of experience - in what? Running a state? Encountering real life problems and dealing with them? Or just playing political games with very little accountability for the results?
Crib notes - References only, which is a sign of an accomplished speaker. The not-so-accomplished ones have to rely on a word-for-word written form, which comes in the form of a teleprompter these days.
High negatives among women - I consider males or females to be voters, and my views aren't obscured by gender prejudices.

Me a bit extreme? Surely you jest. Anyway your fellow acolyte, YJ, has already predicted that Joan of Arc will sweep all 50 states in 2012. Surely his crystal ball cannot be wrong.

Extreme? Well, you might be right. If I could have come up with a stronger superlative, I would have used it.

My "fellow acolyte" has responded to your allegation separately, so I'll refrain from comment on this unproven statement. Anyway, I'm not sure what YJ's comment would have to do with this discussion...he's perfectly capable of speaking for himself...even though you might not like what he has to say.

Anyway, so we are both agreed. We both hope that Joan of Arc wins the Republican nomination.

Quite so - we are agreed and united firmly together on that hope. In my case, I'd even call it an "inspring and hopeful vision." In your case, it could turn into a "nightmare."

SirJosephPorter, you did not post anything for roughly an hour and a half. Am I wrong to assume that you spent all that time trying to find a post of mine where I said that Palin would sweep 50 states?

Or did it take you that long to report me?

Oh, a lot can happen, I have said so myself. We may get a double dip recession, or Palin may suddenly show a spark of intelligence, knowledge, common sense etc. But you seem to be assuming not that a lot can happen, but that a lot WILL happen, and that Palin will be a shoe in come 2012.

Sorry to disappoint you, YJ, but I was working. I mentioned it some time ago (I don’t know if you remember it), but I do most of work on my computer, and take breaks from time to time, to cause some headache to the conservatives here in the forum.

I was working, finished what I was doing and decided to take a little break.

SirJosephPorter, surely you meant a 'shoo-in' not a 'shoe in' in your post #214.

Of course, I may be wrong, because as you have so often and so gloatingly pointed out, English is my second language.

BTW, have you found my post yet, where I predicted a 50 state sweep by Palin?

Sez you. I have never seen you say anything positive about any Democrat, all your praise is aimed solely at Republicans.

That is what I find puzzling about conservatives. I am a liberal, I make no attempt to hide that, I shout it from the rooftop, and I don’t care if everybody knows it.

But for some reason, conservatives here seem to be ashamed to admit that they indeed are conservative, they claim not to be biased one way or other. And invariably they lay into Democrats (or Liberals) and praise Republicans (and Conservatives) to high heaven. Why? Why be ashamed of who you are? Why be ashamed to admit that you are a conservative?

And I try not to do a lot of name calling either...it tends to not only look stupid, but it demeans whatever credibility the author might have had in the first place. I'd rather use real terms and names in order to keep the discussion from degenerating into schoolyard-style name calling.

I assume my referring to Palin as Joan of Arc bothers you. Well, if it bothers conservative, all the moor reason to use it.

I think it's pretty safe to say that a lot WILL happen between now and 2012, if history is any kind of teacher at all.

A shoe-in? Hmm, it's an interesting thought YOU have expressed there. But, you could save yourself a lot of time by asking if that's really what I "seem to be assuming" instead of making that assumption on your own and then having to create all kinds of responses to what could be figments of your imagination. Please don't get me wrong...I really do appreciate an active imagination as it adds to the fun side of life, but the problem with them occurs when a person ends up in the unenviable position of being unable to separate fact from fiction. Then things get downright confusing...

I'd be perfectly willing to tell you the answers to any questions.

I don't know about others, but I DO display the word 'Conservative' under my ID.

You, on the other hand display "No Party Affiliation'.

One of us is a phony. Let the moderators aned other posters decide who.
