Expect the sibling rivalry between notley and horrible Horgan to so up in the Ontariowe election.
R The NDP is about to self destruct because of the rift between workers unions that support economic activity so long as it is unionized and government employees unions that don't want any economic activity but high taxes to support themselves.

The politics if fear and division.. Throw in a little class warfare and you have a reasonable understanding of what we have now

There are 13.6 million people in Ontario. In the GTA, there are 6.8 million. Ford has his base in Toronto, where there are a lot of potential votes.

The media pundits will spend the next week or so predicting how things will go with Ford at the helm. Some will predict gloom and doom. Others say that Wynne is going down. Well duh. He's either going to win, or he's going to lose. How the rest of Ontario feels will have little bearing on the election. Only the GTA matters. I don't live near there, but votes make the difference.

Any future premier's power base is the GTA, with half the population of Ontario living within a few hundred sq. miles. Ford will win if he sticks to putting the Liberal warts in voter's faces. People outside the GTA do not realize how popular the Fords are. If he can walk a straight line for a few weeks, and keep reminding people about hydro and big business fleeing Ontario, he will walk all over Wynne.

Wynne's government, and the Liberals generally, have been in power for a long time. Do voters want a change? I think so, but what I think doesn't matter. And polls don't matter either. The Liberals have 56 of 107 seats. The PCs 28. The Liberal hold on power is tenuous at best.

If Ford and the PC party can act responsibly and keep on their message of ousting the Liberals because of the harm they have caused. then th PCs will win.Hopefully, Vic Fedeli has a good election team in place.

They don't need to know who the premier of Alberta is. ALl they have to know is the dippers do not represent working people.

We had that situation during the Bob Rae days and you will notice that Ontario has not taken the NDP seriously since then. This election was for the PCs to lose and it appears that they've just done that. All bets are off, now.

It is premature to predict the PCs will lose. This coming week is very important to the PCs.

Northern Ontario has been an NDP area for years. I'm sorry to say that regardless of party, few care about what people from N. Ontario want or feel. That is why there has been a move to split up the province. But that's not important for this discussion.

How will the PCs and Ford himself react to the political arrows that will be launched by the Liberals? The PCs will have no problem sounding like a governing party if they stay on message.

Hopefully, the PCs have learned after the past couple of elections.

Maybe the NDP will be the beneficiary. Lots of people are going to vote anything but Liberal and lots of people are simply not going to be able to vote for Ford.

Orange Tide baby.

Not gonna happen.

Ontario will never forget Bob Rae.

That was one of few good responses you've made in this forum.

I'm just going to say this now. I knew it wouldn't last.

He's hopeful that there is change in the wind, as are many Ontarians.

As I said in another post, she was throwing a hissy fit. She was either smart enough to realize that now is not the time to fight Ford, or her handlers have put that message into her head. Either way, one of the troubles is behind them now.

Christine Elliott meets new Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford, gives him her support
Elliott's campaign choosing not to challenge to Ford's victory in Ontario PC leadership race

Christine Elliott is meeting Doug Ford with the intention to throw her support to him and abandon any legal challenge to the results of the Ontario PC leadership race, CBC News has learned.

Two sources with direct knowledge told CBC News that Elliott initiated the meeting with Ford, signalling that she is accepting Ford's victory.

"Christine is choosing not to challenge this," said a senior official on the Elliott campaign. "Christine and the team were unanimous that this was the right way forward. The name of the game is unifying the party."

The official would not say that Elliott has conceded to Ford, as the meeting was still going on as of 6 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Elliott's campaign cast doubt on the result in the hours after Ford was declared the winner by party officials on Saturday night, citing "serious irregularities" in the voting.

While the Elliott official said her campaign has a good case, the only recourse would be to go to court, and that is not something Elliott or her team want to do with the party facing an election in June.

Minority my ass. After the June election: PC 80, NDP 32, Lib 12
The PC could never form a minority because nobody would team up with them.

The only possible win for them is a majority and they are a world away from that at the moment - and appear to have elected a leader that will lose them many voters.

Wynn for the win - again

Maybe Walter is right though.

PCs ride into power on a promise of a Carbon Tax.

I would bust a gut laughing.

You got that right, it took me almost 30 years to figure out they represent the drones and parasites on the payroll, the WORKERS are busy working while the Dippers were bitching and whining.

The NDP feed the common man what he wants to hear. All parties do, but the NDP have been successful at playing the working man angle. Their prominence seems to be slipping away though.

Ontario PCs elect drug dealer to replace sex criminal

TORONTO – After this weekend’s hard-fought leadership election, the Ontario Progressive Conservative party has proudly announced that they’ve elected Doug Ford, a former drug dealer, to replace Patrick Brown, a sexual monster.
“As a party, we got together and agreed that the PCs could do better than someone who gets very young women drunk in order to pressure them into sex,” said interim leader Vic Fedeli. “And by electing someone who dealt kilos of hash in the 80s, we’ve done just that. Technically.”
This is a huge step forward for the right-wing party, with PC leadership confident that their voter base will feel safe at night knowing that a pot kingpin is looking out for Canada’s largest economy.
“It’s not just about the economy. We’re the party of family values. Ask yourself: who would you rather have in charge of our children’s education?” said Fedeli. “A man who dedicated his life to employing teens on corners or a woman who thinks sex is okay?”

I'm wondering how long it will be until Ford declares his "born again" Christianity to snag those seats around Orangeville and Perth.

Doug should take a lead from his deceased bro and have pictures taken with some crack gangstas. His popularity would soar through the roof.
