Let us have some perspective here, first of all no he should not have gone through the
security stop I agree with that. Think about this, we have security staff stopping the
politicians from all parties every single day. They stop the same people and apply the
same questions and waste the time of theirs and the politicians. Plus if there are those
who are not politicians, they are waiting in line for three hundred people to be questioned
by staff who know who they are.
Some say Mulcair is arrogant and they are entitled to their opinion everybody has one.
Or could it be that he asked the question all the others wished they would have asked?
Personally under circumstances I won't bore you with, I have met this man on a couple of
occasions. I didn't find him arrogant at all. I remember when I met Joe Clark I didn't think
he was stupid. I found the Late Allen Blakeney to be a very interesting man as well.
At one time or another I have met political leaders of all stripes I found a contrast between
what they are like and the public's perception at a glance. It has taught me to reserves
judgement at least until I had a better understanding of who they are.
No I don't like Christi Clarke, met her and my opinion would not change.
The most striking difference came for me when I had some dealing with Werner Schmidt he
was a Reform member of the House years ago, few people liked him, I got to know him and
found him to be an honorable man.
As for Mulcair? I don't think he suffers fools easily, I think he could have a bit of a temper but
I think he's sincere as a politician gets, and he likely has as many flaws as the rest of us. Is he
arrogant? Never saw that in the man.

Yes we can all have a little fun with this one I don't know about arrogance but it was silly.

I give a nod to your more tolerant nature, DG. Should someone ever say that to my face, my umbrage would be all too apparent.

Really? Who was he giving the finger to any why? Does anyone remember?

Well it was a long time ago, but I will give it a try. I remember my father was apopletic over the comment. I believe it was a F U to the West for which Pet had little regard.

I know what you mean, I met and talked with Bill Vanderzahm when I went to Government House for my long term service supper. He was as charming and pleasant and friendly as anyone could imagine. But I put it down to seeing the man and not the politician.

Well, he was an immigrant who started out with nothing and worked at physical labour for years and was as personable as you can imagine. He just didn't care for folks who were too lazy to work!

Golly. I bet the Cons are really regretting having gone after Tom Mulcair for ignoring a stop sign on Parliament Hill.

For not only did it make them look ridiculous.

It also made them look hypocritical.

And now to make matters even worse eh?

Watch out !!!! Here comes Maxime Bernier !!!

I will translate the last article for you.....

The Conservative minister Maxime Bernier was arrested without a valid driver's license the last weekend.

According to the Journal de Montreal, which occurred when he was pulled over for an offense under the Highway Safety Code in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce Sunday. He was driving the vehicle with his wife who was immediately confiscated and towed.

His press secretary said that the minister did not know his license was revoked for unpaid fines related to any other violation of the Code of road safety.

Is Bernier the leader of his party? No.
Did Bernier fail to stop when asked? No.
Will Bernier ask Canadians to vote for his party so he can become PM? No

Apples and oranges.

So this is okey dokey with you because he is conservative... no wonder this country is going to hell in a hand basket.

One set of rules for one party IF you support them, and then everyone else is a criminal or an idiot....it's apples and oranges.

Oh wait no it isn't...the law is the law regardless of party.

Reminds me of this old thing about the U.S. Congress...

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

*29 have been accused of spousal abuse
*7 have been arrested for fraud
*19 have been accused of writing bad checks
*117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
*3 have done time for assault
*71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit
*14 have been arrested on drug-related charges
*8 have been arrested for shoplifting
*21 are currently defendants in lawsuits
*84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year Can you guess which organization this is?

GIVE UP YET?????

IT IS THE 535 MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS. The same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.
