Somebody, somewhere has to tell him that immigrants vote too and if they feel slighted, they will never vote for you, again. Besides, in the United States (and Canada) almost everyone is an immigrant, even the Trumps.(I'll bet that they were Shanty Irish ...a group highly despised at the time for all of the same reasons that Trump doesn't like about immigrants.)

Most Canadians I know were born here. My parents were immigrants to Canada but not me.

I didn't hear that Shanty Irish say anything against immigrants . I heard him condemn the practice of ILLEGAL immigrants crossing unmolested into America .I heard him condemn the currant administration for allowing this wave of illegal gate crashers .

Oh by the way if the Donald's family were Shanty Irish they would have crossed through Ellis Island and hence not illegal.

Don't worry Walter the Brits looked down their noses at every ethnic group .They gave us all the nice words like spic , wop , kraut etc. etc.

My family has been in what became Canada since 1782. Mostly, I've had no problem conversing with the children of immigrants, with the occasional exception. Usually they manage to pick up Canadian values, given time.

I've known an awful lot of newcomers during my working life. If you don't, you either sell farm equipment or you live in a fenced community guarded by Rotweillers.

Oddly, the Mexicans are the least likely to be immigrants. Many of them, like us, were just hanging out, doing our thing, when the United States came into existence, or expanded its borders to include us.

Who's the immigrant in that situation?

My earliest ancestors in Canada were refugees from the newly created U.S. of A.. There have been many waves of those over the last 2-1/2 centuries.

The very neighbourhood that I live in now was once a terminus on the Underground Railroad, for instance.

The Mexicans, ironically are gradually reclaiming all of the territory that was taken away from them by the U.S. Army ... an Army led by the same general who unsuccessfully led a series of invasions into this country. http://www.history.com/topics/winfield-scott

Thus are the penalties if having certain neighbours. You have your country taken away from you and then you are a dirty foreigner whern you try to get back to it. Sort of reminds you of the fate of the Palestinians or the Lakota.

Actually, they're not. They are becoming relatively happy, patriotic, loyal Americans. They are having the same immigrant experience all the other immigrant groups had (except the Africans).

David Letterman delivers Top Ten List lampooning Donald Trump
The Associated Press

Some things are more important than retirement.
David Letterman was called back into action this weekend with a brand-new Top Ten List inspired by the recent presidential candidacy of Donald Trump.
Although he's been content since retiring as host of "Late Show" in May, Letterman called missing out on lampooning Trump's White House bid "the biggest mistake of my life."
Appearing with his pals Martin Short and Steve Martin at their live comedy show Friday night in San Antonio, he made up for lost time:
10. That thing on his head was the gopher in "Caddyshack."
9. During sex, Donald Trump calls out his own name.
8. Donald Trump looks like the guy in the lifeboat with the women and children.
7. He wants to build a wall? How about building a wall around that thing on his head!
6. Trump walked away from a moderately successful television show for a delusional, bull... Oh, no, wait, that's me.
5. Donald Trump weighs 240 pounds -- 250 with cologne.
4. Trump would like all Americans to know that that thing on his head is free-range.
3. (tie) If President, instead of pardoning a turkey on Thanksgiving, he plans to evict a family on Thanksgiving. AND: That's not a hairdo -- it's a wind advisory.
2. Donald Trump has pissed off so many Mexicans, he's starring in a new movie entitled, "NO Amigos" (a reference to the 1986 comedy, "Three Amigos," that starred Short and Martin).
1. Thanks to Donald Trump, the Republican mascot is also an ***.

Trump campaign mistakenly tweets star-spangled Nazis

NEW YORK - Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's campaign on Tuesday inadvertently tweeted a promotional photo featuring what appeared to be Nazi German soldiers superimposed on the U.S. flag alongside the controversial real estate magnate's face.
The gaffe, which Trump's campaign blamed on an intern, was the latest setback for the TV show host who lost business deals with Univision, NBC and NASCAR after making comments about Mexican rapists immigrating to the United States.
The tweeted picture also shows the White House and a $100 bill and the slogan, "We need real leadership. We need results. Let's put the U.S. back into business!"
"A young intern created and posted the image and did not see the very faded figures within the flag of the stock photo. The intern apologized and immediately deleted the tweet," Trump's campaign said.
The four soldiers pictured seemed to be actors wearing the uniforms of the notorious SS force, Twitter users said.
@realDonaldTrump @20committee are those troops in the bottom Wehrmacht?! #falseflag

On Monday, an aide to Trump said that the FBI is investigating threatening tweets to him that were purported to have originated from Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman, the Mexican drug lord who escaped from prison on Saturday.
