A person has a right to a nationality, but if we based rights on residency rather than citizenship, foreign nationals living, working, and paying taxes in Canada would get to vote while citizens living abroad would not. He who contributes...
First it is not a business. It is a society which means we must balance the need of the society
with the business aspects of government services.
As for poor Donald I don't know who he would vote for however I don't think he should vote if he
doesn't live here. The five year rule being out of the country and not voting or paying taxes is
the rule you are a Canadian but not contributing to the society of Canada why should you be able
to vote?

You're completely ignoring my point, this is about taxation without representation for citizens living and working abroad. I could care less about Sutherland personally, but if he's required to file a Canadian tax return due to meeting our residency requirements to do so, then, at least in theory, they could be collecting tax dollars from him. In my books that means that he should have a say in how those tax dollars are spent.
