So why you tryin' to screw up our good thing?

I'm not frum here and don't really care about the rest of ya or your good thing.

You were in the Canadian Navy? In the 70s? Fighting?

The Cod wars.

It was always thus, DB. I get your point about the drone kills. Watched a couple of pretty sickening documentaries about the use of drones. It is such an impersonal way of killing. No wonder some of the 'pilots' lose it.

I refuse to believe that it was always thus. The alternative is dispare and madness.

Of course mass killings bother me, I would like to think we live in a civilized world
that is slipping away though. We point at America and shout look what is going on,
but it is going on in Sweden, Norway, France, parts of Asia and even Canada at
times.
The gun laws are not what they should be in America and they need to be tightened up
The real factor is this is more than about guns its about a mentality its ongoing and
a systemic problem confronting our very view of the world/
Mass killings are not the problem the reasons behind those killings are the problem
and unless we address the social issues creating the problem things will not approve

In this particular case the killings are done remotely by drones of the USA. The majority of the victims are civilian non combatants. I think you might have reworded your reply, as it is you seem to disregard the victims but I believe that is not the case. The social issues in this case are the result of war conducted on the developing world under the excuse of spreading democracy the great social issue of our time according to the perpetrators who have the world record of murdering the innocent in the name of that same ideology. Certainly that record exceeds the Nazis but may not yet exceed the Bolshivics. These examples of wanton butchery share a common social problem of great antiquity.

I am starting to wonder about my sanity,in an insane world.Once again i reminded my communication to the outside world must be limited.
I reminded my partner,my best friend, and my lover,"the TV must go", or something like that,I know i must approach this subject with careful approach.
I don't know about you but i am finding the outside world is bringing me down.
Before everyone goes crazy you must know that I know this does not exclude my obligations to my fellow man to be of good will and charitable donation, which reminds me i am so behind on my gifts of giving, this is a whole different letter.
I recall watching my blokes switching off their tv and all other forms of communication to the big bad world,as one friend stated,tv is like water,i was raised on it",the whole anticipation was the worse for them, making the phone call to have their tv screens go black was very frightening for them.
i recall how ignorant they were to world events, and this is what they preferred,so communications of world events was limited to happy chit chat.
another cure for paying attention to world events is being in a "lustful"state,i have friends dating who have no idea about world events.
they are on their own happy planet, being in a state of lust.
my partner is into sports, possibly with the choices of modern technology he may have his noisy sports channel.
darn rights world events are disturbing me,it aggrevates my PTS,i am limited to what i can expose myself to.
i can't wait to be ignorant to world events.

Good post Grumpy. Gun laws aren't the chief problem................criminals don't obey laws. It's probably too late now to correct the problems, one of the main ones goes back to Pierre Trudeau when the Charter of Rights was extended to criminals while the general population didn't gain many rights that I can remember. Add to that the availability of drugs today and I think that accounts for a lot of the problem. J.M.H.O.

As opposed to "traditional" aerial bombing?
