Northern Ontario,
Sleeper, Muslim schools would NEVER agree to things like this. The PC crowd would not even dare ask.

That's what I find disingenuous (Being polite here) about the liberal PC crowd...
They have no qualms about bashing Christians but when it comes to muslims, it's a different story.
I think they naturaly (like wusses) tend to go for the easy target....one that doesn't retaliate with violence:lol:

The Muslim student that created the Muslim Group at CU doesn't feel there is a problem. I'd like your opinion on his comments.

You're referring to the Arab American Association? Cause Arab doesn't equal Muslim, if you are.

And if that is what you are referring to, the girl that created that group says she feels very welcome at CUA, which no one said they weren't welcome there. Rather, the discussion has only been about really practical accommodations for Muslim students.

I'm just talking about it, and like I said before, my alma mater could be more accommodating to Muslims. Like, they have no legitimate reason to say they won't.

Are you working on a response? Just curious.

This is what I've been saying for a long time. Christians, Catholics are easy targets because they don't fight back. Just like what we were talking about with the anti-Christian art, fecees dripping on an image of Christ... a Crusifix submerged in a jar of urine...anti-Christian street performances. They wouldn't dare do those things against the Muslim religion.

Ahhh, using semantics are you? Avoiding the question?

Wiaam Al Salmi, a Muslim student at CUA who recently started the Arab American Association, which had is first meeting this week, said, “The community here is very respectful of other religions and I feel free to openly practice it.”

Seriously, what religion do you think they are free and openly practicing?

However if you feel you've been outmanuevered just let us all know.

Dude, you confused an ethnicity with a religion. That's not semantics.

Yeah... you're avoiding answering. Well, that is a U.S Liberal for you folks. Instead of admitting he's been outsmarted he'll just dance around and cherry pick.

Really, you're saying someone else has been outsmarted?

But a more direct answer to you on topic, so that you will be satisfied. Good, the leader of the Arab American Association feels she can openly practice her religion. All I said was CUA should inquire about if a Muslin student association and any other religious accommodations are needed, as they should do with other religions. As any institution of higher learning would.

iiii

I might also add that you, ES, and others in the thread have been crazy defensive, as if I was arguing some politics thing with you.

Weird day.

I am saying you have which is why you were avoiding.

The Muslim student interviewed has said that they are able to freely and openly practice their religion. However a professor from another university thinks otherwise.

The group in question is satisfied.

So CUA should make accommodations for each and every religion? Wicca? Pagans? Buddist? Hinduism? Druidism? Shinto? Taoism? Santeria?

Don't be naive. This is about FORCING CUA to make special accommodations for the Muslims ONLY. This is about making CUA remove the Crusifix from places where they put them. This is about political correctness.

It's also about that law professor John F. Banzhaf getting the limelight and the talk show spots at the expense of somebody else without a client (So he says... but when asked about C.A.I.R. started dancing)
He should have gone into politics like Al Sharpton...
Although Some Catholic University covered up Crucifixes for Obama in Georgetown.....

Obama covers up Jesus

Disgusting, and a disgrace.

This is a tempest in a teapot.
To quote from the Washington Times:
"Julie Bataille from the university's press office e-mailed me that the White House had asked that all university signage and symbols behind the stage in Gaston Hall be covered.
"'The White House wanted a simple backdrop of flags and pipe and drape for the speech, consistent with what they've done for other policy speeches,'; she wrote. 'Frankly, the pipe and drape wasn't high enough by itself to fully cover the IHS and cross above the GU seal and it seemed most respectful to have them covered so as not to be seen out of context.''"

If they wanted a generic back drop, they should have picked a generic venue.

Um, no it's not.

ummm...yes it is. If they want a non sectarian background for his royal heinousness, then choose someplace that is non sectarian.... not a bloody Catholic University. Or is something that simple and basic beyond the american governments simplistic minds?

After the Bush/Haggard thing who would want to show political ties to a church, mosque or synagogue of any kind?

Do Muslim Mosques have a right to keep me out if I'm not a Muslim? Think Human Rights would fight for my rights to attend?

Just askin....

You're allowed there is no sign at the door that says "Go Away If Not Muslim" just the one saying " Please Remove Wet or Muddy Footwear AND Wash Your Feet."

Then don't broadcast from a damn religious institution. Simple really. Obviously though it is above the mental capabilities of those in charge down there.
