to them we are the ones in the wrong there, even though this problem with ireland has exsisted over a thousand years longer than america has been about and god-knows who started it...you wont change a lot of their minds, it boils down to not thinking beyound ur borders...ohhhh I feel the insults flying at me already

Just think. If Ireland was situated on the other side of the mid-Atlantic Ridge, seafloor spreadin would cause Ireland to be America's problem right now.

I do know that if the IRA killed or maimed any of my family, I would fly to America, hunt down as many NORAID members as I can find, and execute them. And even bring a few hundred SAS soldiers dressed up in civilians clothes to help me.

No-one kills a member of my family and lives to talk about it.

lol.....a good example would be St Patrick....an original briton kidnapped by the irish and sold into slavery.

it's been going on since time and a day, who's right, who's wrong?.....it's the least clear cut arguement in history, so personally I think all external parites (any american or foreigner) who has an opinion on the matter should butt out, as not to cause more trouble.

#juan , there is no way that canada was going to change the tide of the war. canada needs to stick to peace keeps and let the big boys take care of the fighting. Daz hockey your right that air power cant win a war alone but it sure helps. i just want to know what you think would have happened if american didnt join the war. and dont try and tell me that russia and canada would have saved you.

I think a situation would have occured that was indeed very similar to the cold war, but I think the russians would have beat the germans before operation sealion got off the ground, all german forces would have been pulled back to defend the fatherland, out of france, thank you mam.....most of europe taken by the russians...I dont think they'd have got as far as the UK, it would have been a knock down drag out war.

really.....what evidence is there to suggest otherwise?....look I'm not arguing you helped....a lot, but if you wernt there, the nazi's still would not have won, the japanese would never have attacked russia at their end, freeing up the russian soldiers there, like what happened an slowly the red army would have marched throughout europe.

And since germany turned on Russia who were their only ally in europe eh?....great britain

i guess we agree to disagree, i just dont see the russians beating germany one on one, i know it wasnt really one on one but it would have seemed like that because no other country would have been able to inflict a lot of damage on germany at that time

I just did the book this summer it was called How the Irish

I agree with the one on one with russia bit, in all honesty, our soldiers left the war in europe at dunkirk, but I think it was more down to luck on hitler's part and stupidity on Stalin's that they got as far as they did...in the end he started listening to his generals and they ran riot over the greater reich in a very short space of time, they really didnt have many troops to spare against us when d-day happened and thats an undisputable fact

Winter and long supply lines alone would have defeated Germany, they were effectivly done when they got to Moscow, same thing happened to Napoleon, and don,t say you won that one as well.
Patric was born in wales and never saw Italy untill he was in his mid twentys.

Winter wouldnt have killed all of germanys troops thats alittle of an over exaggration. well the french could never win a war anywar. germany wouldnt have lost one on one, invading russia was a bad idea but declaring war on the usa was a lot bigger mistake.
